Web of Trust - Are You In the Circle of Trust?
Hello Wealthy Affiliate Family!
I recently published a tutorial on How to get Visitors to Trust My Website. While doing my research for the training, I came across several articles that talked about the Web of Trust or WOT safe browsing tool (https://www.mywot.com/). I initially didn't think much about it until I started noticing the green/amber/red/gray WOT doughnut next to websites in my Google searches.
So I started thinking that there may be something to this WOT thing. The WOT website claims that their browser extension has been downloaded by over 140,000,000 people.
I checked out my website and it had a gray WOT doughnut next to it. I thought, I'd rather have a green WOT doughnut next to my website so people feel they can trust my content. I registered for a free WOT account and entered (and verified) my website. When I did a Google search on my site, I'm still getting a gray WOT doughnut.
I need the Wealthy Affiliate Community's help. Will you please download the WOT browser extension (https://www.mywot.com/en/download) and rate my website (http://retireelifestyle.com/) so I can get a green rating? If you're willing to do this for me, please leave a comment below and I'll return the favor. If you find you don't like the browser extension after you install it, you can easily delete it by right clicking on it and selecting remove.
Please don't forget to rate the Wealthy Affiliate site in WOT as well. Currently, Wealthy Affiliate is rated as unsatisfactory for Trustworthiness. Let's come together as a family and bring our rating back up into the green again.

Just realised when you go into WOT to review a site that you need to save each of the 2 ratings individually i.e. trustworthiness and child safety - I had been rating both categories and then hitting the save button, however it only saved my first rating. So I had to go in again and rate the 2nd category (child safety) separately
Just thought i should pass it on in case others made the same error as I did.

Anne, I noticed that there's a latency between the browser extension and the website. I was doing it on both for a while, but I found that it will replicate after a short period of time. Kevin
Yes, i just checked it out again and it does indeed only need one save - Thanks for the help

This is good information. I downloaded it to my browser extension and will try and get an account created. When I tried to create an account using my G+ account it sent sat there in an endless loop saying "Creating Account...." but never actually finished. But I will try later.

Ted, while you're on the site that you want to rate, click on the WOT Browser Extension in the upper right corner of your web browser, this will open the rating window. Then you rate the site for Trustworthiness and Child Safety. You can also leave a comment if you'd like. See the attached.
