Hello, my name is Kevin. I’m a U.S. Department of the Army Civilian who, after working for over 10 years in Kuwait supporting our great Warfighters in Iraq and Afghanistan, just moved back to our headquarters in Illinois. I joined the civilian ranks after retiring from the Army with 27 years of service. My dream has always been to be an Internet Marketer where I’m free to travel the world and spend time with my loving family. I’ve been dreaming about an Internet business for the past decade, but didn’t get serious until the past couple of years. I’ve done considerable research on the topic, but didn’t take action for the longest time…analysis paralysis. I joined Wealthy Affiliate to both give and receive advice and encouragement. I look forward to interacting with you as we take this journey to success together.

To your success!
Kevin

I can see this goal list being a great success story one day. You've got every perfect reason to make this a complete reality. You're most surely in the right place to learn and gain access to all you need.

Let's work on making all this come true Kevin. Let's focus step by step. It's all achievable if you believe it will happen, you make an outline (which you've done), you take positive steps to getting it started and you keep focused like a laser beam on the end goal (or outcome). I'm here to help you! David

Hello there Kevin,

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to your follow, but I like to have a look see at ppls profiles before following mindlessly. Hope you don't mind. :)

Thank you for your service to our country. My daughter is a Navy nuclear officer driving a destroyer on the flip-side of the world as well...keeping us save here at home. Very proud Mama here! I come from a heritage of military family so I understand the commitment.

I see you made it through the certification training. Making any income yet?

Pleased to follow you back Kevin!

Kevin: Thank you for your service. I'm a Born and raised Missourian. I served in the USMC in the early 70's. I was one of the lucky who did not have to go to Vietnam. I have friends and relatives who still suffer to this day from their time there. I feel fortunate and grateful that I was not one of the chosen. Good luck on your journey with Internet Marketing. I'm sure you will be very successful. I am committed to learning this business as well. I'm not real computer literate so I will probably be asking all kinds of question to help me through the learning curve. Gotta get back to learning. Will message again later.

Thank you for the follow and your service. I like that term "analysis paralysis". I felt like I suffered from the same thing for many years. I'm located in the Pacific Northwest (Olympia, WA), but am wanting to move down to Las Vegas, NV (too cold up her) :-) I've got an old friend down there with whom I'd like to re-connect, and after nearly 30 years in Tucson, AZ I'm missing my desert and the sunshine. :-)

Hi Kevin anyone who has been in any war zone deserves a medal. All the best with your adventure. I have a friend who has not long returned from Afghanistan.(fighter pilot).I am doing this for similar reason .I had a pop who won races all over the world took a race horse named Shannon to USA ,by ship pop travelled with him the rest is history .I have been successful with gallopers and pacers. I lost my husband 2 yrs ago he was a retired doctor and a vet spent the last years of his life working at the NIH Research program in USA so I have had plenty of good grounding, and my one ambition before I leave this world is to train a Melbourne Cup winner, pop trained 3 so I hope to be able to make enough money to form a syndicate to buy a horse from Ireland, England or Germany good enough to fulfil this dream
Cheers Helen.ps a lot of Voaks migrated to USA they came from Ireland but the original spelling had a E on the end of their name.

Hi Kevin!

I know exactly what you mean by analysis paralysis. It reminds me of what someone else called it GRTGR, Getting Ready To Get Ready. Spending all your time preparing and researcing instead of just jumping right in and doing things even if it isn't perfect. Research is perfectly fine up until the point it stops you from taking action on your passion. I'm glad you got out of that mode, and I am recently getting out of it. Much success indeed!

Seriously, I hope that I don't come off that way. I'm trying to show everyone that anyone can do this and be successful no matter how busy or full they feel their life may be. You just need to be persistent and consistent.

I've been studying internet marketing for almost a decade, so I have a lot to share with people just starting out. I've been writing my blog posts, questions and now training to share these things with other WA members. I'm trying to write things so that the beginner will understand and benefit.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you very much for the follow on WA. I have now followed you on Instagram. I really like your storey and your honesty. I certainly found your website helpful and will definitely keep it open as a handy helper along the way.

As a side note on books etc, there are 3 that have really caught me over the years...

1) Dale Carnegie - How to make friends and influence people
2) Robert Kiyosaki - Rich Dad, Poor Dad (He's become a bit commercial if I'm honest and has tried to squeeze every drop of wealth and has lost kudos in the process in my view but his principals are sound.
3) Peter Lynch - Learn to Earn. A friend in banking gave it to me, it was tough getting to grips with the terms, but a big eye opener.

Anyway, I wish you the very best of luck in perusing your goals and please do keep in touch. I am very fond of the army and the life skills and discipline that is tought, a few of our best friends are British army officers and they know a good thing or two about trust and friendship.

Take care

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the info. I'm also military retired. Served 24 years in the Air Force. (https://www.facebook.com/jesse.p.dejesus,) I have been interested also in the internet marketing for quite some time but have been wasting time on other things. So now I'm trying to get serious.

Jesus, thank you for your service! Please don't be like me and waste ten years of your life thinking about doing this. I kick myself in the butt every time I think about where I could be if I had just taken action. Check out my post on Pat Flynn , he started after I did and look where he's at today.

Wealthy Affiliate was my turning point and I've accomplished soooo much in the 10 weeks that I've been with them. WA is the real deal! The training is great and the community is very supportive. But you still need to do your part and put in the time and effort. The encouragement from the WA family has really kept me going.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you, even if you just need someone to bounce ideas off of, I'm here for you. I want to see you succeed.

To your massive success, Kevin

Hi,
First, thank you for your service!
Second, looks like you are rolling along nicely, but am wondering if you can create your own product. Namely, either a book or membership site based on your middle East experience.
Third, I am still basically offline these days and so am not much likely to be much help. But, do ask.

Bob, thank you for writing! My Mom always told me I should have kept a journal of all my adventures overseas, and I've had many. I like your idea of writing a book, I just don't know how I'd carve the time out to do it. I actually looked at hiring a ghost writer a few years back, until I found out how much it would cost me.

Thank you for offering me your assistance, I sincerely appreciate it.

All the best, Kevin

Perhaps the following will help. I haven't done the link below and don't know if it is any good, but it may be worth a look--this arrived in one of the many daily email promos I ignore. Now, I'll probably view it.

I am also sure that there are some successful WA authors--try a query.

Hey my names Brandon I will be attending college in less then a month. Im looking forward to continuing to develop my website part time through college and hopefully make some more sites. I am in the preliminary stages of making my site. My websites up and running with content, once I get enough traffic I want to be able to sell gym products off my site through affiliate websites. Right now I am stuck on getting traffic to my site and getting it ranked in google. Is there any advice you can give me specifically on how to build better content directly about my niche and website. Im really trying hard to get with website off and running and know it will take time! this is my website:

Thank you very much,

Hey Brandon,

I'm sitting in an airport right now waiting to catch a plane, so forgive me if I miss anything. I want to give you some stuff to work on.

For your website, the first thing you need to establish is what we call "social proof". There are a few things that you can do to help people have faith and trust what you're telling them.

First, on your "About Me" page, let them see who you are. Put pictures of you working out, or doing other things so they can relate with you and see that you're a really person.

Second, have your readers add comments to your website so that your visitors can see that others are reading your posts and what their thoughts are about it. I know you're asking, how do I get them to do this? This is where you use the WA community to help you. Go to: on this give and take comment thread leave a link to each of your posts and ask for comments from the group. This is a give-one-get-one system, so you'll need to leave some comments on other's posts. It's well worth the effort though.

The third thing is show how many social shares you have. Add A Social Share plugin to your webpage. On your social share bar plugin there should be a setting to show the total number of social shares that you have. This is another social proof that others are reading your posts and they like them so much that they're sharing them with their followers. I know you're asking, how do I get people to share my posts so I can get my social share number up? I'm glad you asked...we'll use the WA community again. One way to do it is by going to and ask people to follow your Google+ account, also ask them to give you some +1s and share your posts. Here again, this is a give-one-get-one system. You can also ask the community when they comment on your posts back in step 2 that they also share your post with their followers.

If you do these steps it should drastically increase your traffic and the social proof will get them to click your links and buy your products.

Do you have a capture box and a list yet. You need to get your customers on your list so you can sell to them multiple times.

Check out my website at http://retireelifestyle.com/ and see if you can glean some ideas. You'll see that I'm active on both the Comments and the Google+ sections in WA almost daily. In fact, you could look for some of my posts there and model them if you'd like.

Start with these three things and then let me know how it works.

All the best, Kevin

Good evening to you Kevin my name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. I thank you for the service you have done for our country and I apologize for the lateness of my greetings. I have away from the computer, building a garden, rebuilding our fence and enhancing out patio. I have only just begun. lol

Sounds like you have avoided some of the pitfalls that a lot of us have endured by waiting until you were ready for this adventure. Hopefully, you have your eyes wide opened so that you will see the opportunities and avoid the scams.

I suggest you do the lessons, don't skip any, do them in order. When in doubt, ask the community questions. They are the secret sauce to WA. Stay focused and never quit. I wish you much success and prosperity in your journey.

I am setting up web site but I am not good typing my spelling really suck too always be Gunsmith for over 30 year, am good at it love to shoot targets not hunting anymore. The Desert Storm Deployment kind of changed that for me. I fix them now part time .Is there help wioth doing the text of the web site?
Reply
Lundquik Premium
Chris, there are a few ways to get around the writing issue. There are ghost writers out there that will either fix your writing for you or they can write the entire article for you. They typically charge by the word and the the cost varies depending on the quality of writing that you want. It's usually not bad, running around $15 to $20 for a 2,000 word article. Some good examples are iWriter (https://www.iwriter.com) and Fiverr (https://www.fiverr.com).

You can also buy pre-written articles from sites like SwarmContent (http://www.swarmcontent.com) or Constant Content (https://www.constant-content.com). With these you should be able to get pre-written articles for $5 or so.

Just make sure that they are unique articles and not copied from somewhere or multiple copies sold. You should ask before buying, but you can also check this using the Small SEO Tools Plagiarism Checker (http://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker).

I hope this helps.

Raylene, you should never feel alone with the WA family. Work through the training at If you get stuck, or just need a friendly push, type in the chat bar on the homepage and someone will be there for you. Guys, I started a thread to help each other to improve Google ranking by :
1. Organically search for each other's website (to improve number of organic search, pageviews and unique pageviews)
2. Browsing through each other's website for at least 10 minutes (to improve average time on page, pages/session, Avg session duration and bounce rate)

As you can see from Google Analytics, these are among the factors determining our ranking:
1. Pageview
2. Unique pageviews
3. Avg. time on page
4. Pages/session
5. Avg. session duration
6. Bounce rate

The existing 'exchanging comment thread' is good but I found a problem with it, most of the people go to a particular page, put a comment and left the website. This is really hurting the Avg. time on page, pages/session, Avg. session duration and most of all the bounce rate.

So I suggest we help ourselves in a more effective way, yes we will spend a little more time but it is definitely worth the effort.

Thanks for the follow Kevin. It's always great to find military personnel involved in a business related activity like this because of the focus and discipline it brings to the discussions. I think those qualities that served you well in the Army will help just as much in your online business. Sometimes when you've hit analysis paralysis a good principle to follow is one a business writer and lecturer mentioned called "Ready-Fire-Aim". It gets what you want to do off the ground and then allows you to refine and direct it properly without having to overcome start-up inertia. Best wishes.

You will, no doubt, have the discipline to follow through on the education that this membership offers. A little advice as you begin this journey is to do two things:

1. Take the education in on a regular basis, day by day, and just enough to feel like you're learning something new ... don't allow the "shiny object" to overwhelm or distract you, as there are tons of them across the Internet!

2. When you have a question about something, ask here on WA ... there are so many wonderful and helpful people willing to get you "unstuck", so take advantage of this.

Otherwise, welcome, and best of luck here on WA!
