Hey all,
I have been doing this for about 3 to 4 weeks now, and I have gotten far from nothing. I still have a lot of work to do but that's ok I'll get there.
I have
I'd love to tell you a grand story of all the money I've made but 0 isn't real exciting. I've been here for a couple of months and I've had to continue working on my site before I concentrate on the affiliates. I made the mistake and added affiliate sites like crazy when I first started but was really unhappy with my site. Not to mention I did not get any traffic. Like Carla said, it's hard when money is so tight because this isn't a get rich quick scheme. The stress can add up if you let it. I'm all jealous Carla was making any money :) Just keep working on your site and, in time, you will see traffic increase and, eventually, your first sale. Don't give up!
Website looks pretty good, Luke. It's certainly a topic that makes me dream.
As you probably already know, you need more content. When we go through the lessons, we don't actually develop enough posts (content) to have Google consider us seriously, so we have to step back and develop more content before plunging into the affiliate links. As Kyle says, the links don't do much good if no one is coming to the site.
Write more, keep moving ahead. You've got a good start.
It needs time, my friend. Right now you need money so that makes it more stressful. My mentor here says it's a marathon, not a sprint. It's not much of a success story, but. . . . I've had Adsense on several non-WA blogs for a long time. Their payout is $50. When I started here at WA, my profits at Adsense were like $30. They were that way for ages. I'm up to $45 in the two months or so I've been here. Yes, it's only a little,, but it's a start!!! Keep pushing forward. You WILL make it, but it may not be all that fast.

Thank you all for responding, but I was really hoping to hear of someone making at least 600 dollars a month :/

If someone goes to amazon through my link and they buy something else instead will I still get credit for that? Or is it specifically that one item that I have linked?
Most places give you a carte blance, so to speak, for however long they allow the cookie to stay active. Some give you a week. Amazon, however gives you 24 hours. They can place any item in their shopping cart for that 24-hour period and you get the commission.
