Hello and good morning (or evening!)
Am I missing something or has something changed. When I add a link in WordPress, I see where to add the link and the option to 'open
Hey Lisa,
To make a link "no follow" in the block editor of WordPress:
1. Add the link: Select the text or block you want to link. Click the link icon and enter the URL you want to link to.
2. Access advanced settings: Click the gear icon next to the link to open the advanced settings.
3. Add "no follow": In the advanced settings, find the "Link rel" field and type "nofollow" (without quotes) into it.
4. Save changes: Click "Apply" to save the changes you made to the link.
Israel
I tried this but didn't see a gear icon for advanced settings. I just see the pencil (edit), the unlink and below I see open in new tab.
Hey Lisa,
Apologies for any confusion. If you're still unable to get it done, try this:
1. Select the text or block you want to link. Click the link icon and enter the URL you want to link to.
2. After adding the link, look for options that appear right above the linked text or block.
3. Look for an option that says "Open in New Tab" or "Link Settings." In some versions, this is where you'll find the option to add "no follow."
4. If you see the "Open in New Tab" or "Link Settings" option, you may find a checkbox to make the link "no follow." Check the box to apply the "no follow" attribute to the link.
5. Save the changes you made to the link.
Best regards,
Israel
Hi Lisa. I ran into this same problem when I got started. I learned that I needed add a plugin to my site to access that option. I chose RankMath on the advice of another member, and it has been a great plugin not only for that, but for conducting effective SEO practices on my site and with my posts.
Thank you! I will go check it out!
I use to only write my blog posts in WA's Publish, which I love but lately I've been writing them directly in WordPress. Also, I am adding Amazon affiliate links so I was wanting to make them no follow.
Thanks again!

From those who have experience with eZoic or who is current publishers give me your honest option....
Is it worth it? I did have my blog connected about a month ago, I d

"Ezoic no longer imposes pageview limits upon new sign-ups."
The others like Mediavine require 50k and AdThrive a100k monthly pageviews on Google Analytics respectively.
Hey Lisa!
TLDR: Yes, it's worth it to switch back to Ezoic.
Longer answer:
If you're trying to run ads on it, then Ezoic is the better option over Google Adsense. I've run both on two different sites, and Ezoic performed WAY better than Adsense (to be fair, it as a good 3+ years since I've done anything with Adsense, and I've heard that they might be better).
But if you see that Adsense isn't comparing to what you were getting with Ezoic, then I would definitely switch back (to Ezoic).
Additionally, Ezoic (and/or most other Ad companies) are going to recommend putting a lot of ads on your site, BUT, at the end of the day, you always (or should always) have control of how many ads are going to be on your site.
I don't run Ezoic ads any more, so I can't give you the specific instructions on how to change that setting, but reaching out to your support rep (if/when you re-integrate with them) should be the first step in having less ads on your site (and still make more than what you're making with Adsense).
How far are you from hitting 50K session per month, out of curiosity (that's Mediavine's, one of the 'better' ad management platforms minimum session limit to join)?

I highly appreciate your response. I did see better results with eZoic but that being said, my blog was covered in ads which is something I hate! And if I hate it, I am sure there are many others who feel the same.
I don't want people to click away without even reading what I have to say because of the abundance of ads especially when I am wanting to monetize from affiliate marketing as well.
I still have a ways to go before I can use Mediavine but it is my end goal.
Adsense is so much easier to use and I feel you have more control over your ad placement. eZoic is a pain in the butt to integrate which is why I am debated on if it's really worth it. I also find it harder to talk to someone when you need help.
Again thanks for your answer!
Something else you can do (and also keep in your back pocket for when you get to Mediavine) is not run ads on specific pages (i.e. your affiliate pages).
For the one site that I have on Mediavine, all the pages that I'm selling something (my sales pages, checkout pages, etc), I don't have ads running, so as to not affect my affiliate/direct earnings as much. I know you could also do that with Ezoic (or Adsense for that matter), which is another option too.
When we go live with our new site next month, I do plan to use Ezoic until I qualify for something better. In the meantime, I only plan to put 3 ads on a page - two in the sidebar and one in the footer. They will NOT take over my site. You can do that too!

Thank Jeff! Your opinion is greatly appreciated! I haven't decided yet what I want to do as I don't want my blog overtaken by ads seeing that's not the only way I want to monetize.

I do have the plugin Smush installed. I also have where I can enable lazy load of featured images, content images, gravatar image, defer JavaScript, fonts...

In my experience the plugin usually offers a little bit more in terms of features and settings so I tend to go with the plugin but it’s up to you. See what works best 👍🏼
