How do I grab a pic from my mac media library to use on wp?
safari keeps reporting a problem but also once I've found the pic in my mac library, how do I grab it and import into the wordpress site media area? Thanks!!
What I usually do is copy and send the image to my desktop or a folder there, then inside the back end of your Wordpress select add media, find the image, select upload, set left, center or right and insert the picture where your cursor is on youe edit page.
If you need to resize the file size I recommend a free download Irfanview. Make sure you have "malwarebites" installed and another recommended free tool is "should I remove it" which makes any additional adware files you don't need removed super fast.

When I've tried going to my website to view it, it shows the sample theme page and then I have to click the information area before it'll take me to the pages I've created. I must
Probably because you have not published any blog posts yet? I'd have to see your website. Try publishing a test post (instead of a page) and see what happens.
WordPress automatically sets the front page display of websites to be the blogroll. In some circumstances, depending on the niche and purpose of a website, a static page might be appropriate.
Generally with a new website, it is recommended to start with the blogroll as the first page a visitor lands on at the main URL e.g. http: // yourdomain com
A static page can be set as the front page by going to WP > Settings > Reading and selecting another page from your site to be the front page for the main URL.
As I said, it is best to set the front page display to "the latest Posts". The blogroll is dynamic and will attract more traffic.
You can change this at any time. ~Jude
I would try picking a different theme. How do you have your page setup? Depending on the settings you may have it set up as a blog roll. I have one of mine set up this way.
Thanks! I was following the content lesson on page setup...I went back and changed the theme and it worked better, moved things around. But when you open the site it doesn't take me to my 'about me' page without clicking on a link...not sure what information to put on the initial page or how to get it there behind the scenes. Have other questions about the title, description etc under all in one SEO. Think I need to do some more studying! ;-)
Lol yes...just keep following the training and it will all become clear. Everything you could possibly want to know will be in the lessons :) but you can let me know if you have any specific questions I might be able to answer. As for the SEO section, I prefer to leave the title and description blank and it automatically fills in for you, and it turns out better that way in my opinion. Also, once you start making posts, that may be what shows up on your home page when you visit your site.

setting up referral linking and tracking referral revenue
Are you talking about within the WA community or within your own niche?
Within WA check out this link Day 1: Getting Rolling When someone clicks on a link by someone with a WA affiliate link the cookies from your computer are stored. When/if you go premium and you haven't deleted cookies you get a commission from that sale.
Within your own niche, it's the same concept but you're paid by different companies and in different ways.
I referred someone to become a WA affiliate and they joined and went premium today...how do I get commissions from that referral? I'm new and still have a lot to learn!! Thanks!
Ya that's a great question. With the WA affiliate it's really hard to tell 100% that you referred that person, unless it's your friend and you know for sure. If they click someone else's link before yours and then click yours unfortunately the cookies are given to the first person.
if you did refer someone click this link. It's also the airplane icon near the search bar.

I had a problem with a local referral, someone that I went to high school with actually and I messaged Kyle letting him know what my situation was and he fixed my referral tracking for me.
Maybe he'll do the same for you? Worth a try right?
Take care :)
Hi Lisa, Alane explained it well concerning the tracking cookies, but the main thing is to make sure they sign up under your affiliate link...but it is not 100% certain. If the person chooses to 'Google' wealthy affiliate later, maybe from another computer, and they decide to sign up at that moment, then you won't get the sale. The best thing is that you have a great website that people refer to and use as a gateway and that will pretty much guarantee that people sign-up via your link and you get the sales.
If I am talking to a friend one-on- one and we are discussion moves to IM and they want to know what I am doing, I then ask them for their email address and offer to send them the link to WA to make it easy for them so they can forget about the effort of searching for it. I then can encourage them a little again in my email they get later and of course they get my affiliate link to WA. Still.......if they decided to Google WA and not use my link....there really isn't anything I can do about it...but this should happen rarely.
