Hi.
Wealthy Affiliate does not host your domain name. That stays with NameCheap. All you are doing by changing your DNS to WAs servers is telling NameCheap to divert people going to your domain, to go to WA.
NameCheap are your domain registrar. WA is your website host. It's like the Royal Mail. Everyone sending a letter - it says it's going to my address in Scotland - but every letter will go to the sorting office first - and then be delivered to my home.
If you want to change you A records, you will do that within NameCheap - regardless of where your actual website appears.
All the best, Mark
so I would leave the DNS with Namecheap instead of ns1.mywahosting ? Because when I change the DNS the option to change the A record is removed.
Hi - no - you DO need to change the DNS - that is just saying "my website now lives at WA so redirect my mail there" - but NameCheap will remain your domain registrars - so will continue to hold the records for you. When your domain registration runs out, NameCheap will contact you and expect you to pay them for another years registration.
ALL you should change at NameCheap are the DNS settings - so change your nameserver - leave the A records alone - you shouldn't have to touch them.
I'll be online for a while longer (UK time), so please post back if you're still unsure at all.
All the best, Mark
Hey Carson - thank you.
I've had 3 kids (youngest now 5), so I know what the last 3 weeks or so must have been like for you!! Kai is beautiful. The fact you're here posting, I hope means he's being a good wee boy - and sleeping well :)
All the best to you and your wife,
Mark
I understand that NameCheap is the registrar. But I'm not trying to make another Wordpress theme website through Wealthy affiliate. I started an affiliate program, So I bought a Domain specifically for this. Let me ask the question in a different way. Do I need to have hosting for a Domain that's just being redirected to another website?
Hi.
Sorry if I mis-understood your original question.
No - if you simply want a domain name to point to an existing website then go to NameCheap and follow this link to their knowledgebase:
https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/385/77/how-do-i-set-up-url-forwarding-for-a-domain
Does that help?
Cheers, Mark
I would like to know about this too please. I have my hosting with WA, domain and subdomain. how do i change the A-record with my subdomain? I cant find the answer to this anywhere. Please help?

That might be what it is then. I'm trying to do it from my not and it's actually quite a pain. This site isn't friendly to my note. :)
Are you doing a copy and paste with the post content?
If you are, maybe it doesn't realise that you've entered text.

How do you edit your videos that are on your blog to re-size itself when mobile users view your website? Is there a way to make your blog have a mobile version?
Videos will automatically resize, and to get a mobile version of your blog, your "theme" should be mobile responsive. You could also make a mobile version of your website, but it's actually a separate domain and requires a lot of work to set up! Stick with mobile responsive themes. It should tell you if it's responsive before you download, or you can test it on your phone.
Will do that. It's just half of the video is cut off when viewing on my mobile. It's embedded from youtube.
