What are the building blocks of success?
No matter what your business, there are some key foundation building blocks that are timeless and traverse the business world. If followed they will set the scene for a long-term and profitable adventure.
Sincerity
Be sincere, "Be" who you really are. Don't try to be someone else - you won't be able to keep it up. Be you, and attract the people who are looking for you!
Speak up for what you represent. Become a product of your product. Stand beside and behind what your business represents.
Your business is really a reflection of one of the many beautiful dimensions and aspects of YOU!
Reliability
Demonstrate that you are reliable, by your actions not just your words.
If you can't demonstrate reliability then you will lose credibility over time. People will become disenchanted with you and lose trust.
If you can't keep a promise then hold your hand up to it, and make amends if at all possible.
Commitment
Commit to your business, your company, your customers, your team, and yourself.
If you can only attend to your business halfheartedly, then really take time to consider if this is the right thing for you at this time.
Believe in yourself by showing up for your business regularly.
Integrity
Act with integrity at all times, no excuses.
Examine your values, review, refine and elevate if need be. Be aware of your words, deeds, and actions, and consider if they offer a true reflection of your core values.
Competence
Your competence will develop over time. Touch your business each day, no matter how little or how much time you have to spare. Your competence will evolve through your consistency.
When first starting out in your business, you may not really know what you know and don't know. As you progress, you'll no doubt find out that the more you learn, the more you realise you need to learn.
Don't give up though. Just take it one step at a time. Each new skill learnt or knowledge acquired builds on the shoulders of the skills and knowledge realised beforehand.
Consistently seek to learn and apply more to your business.
Consistency
As above, this is one of the keys to your success. Even a little action each day is better than a tremendous spurt and then nothing for ages.
I, for sure, have learnt this one! Put the blinkers on and stop chasing the shiny objects.
Once you've chosen your business model, stick with it, and 'touch it' every day.
Trust
Trust the process. Trust your business. Trust your company. Trust your customers and team to tell you what they really need, not what you think they need.
And above all - Trust Yourself and Be Trustworthy.
You can do this!
All the best,
Lesley
