Does Google count the sidebar as part of any web page? If you have many affiliate links on your sidebar will it hurt your Google ranking on a new website?

Google sees everything visible on the site.
There are tools for this, for example:
http://www.browseo.net
Or perhaps using Google Webmaster Tools you can also see what google sees. But, basically google sees a text version of your site... the HTML (or text tab within your editor).

When you need to be in touch with your referrals because they've asked a question or put up their goals etc. you'll get a flag on your airplane icon. Click that and it will take you to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share/tasks
You will see what your referrals have done and you'll be able to respond.
Yes sir: Click on the airplane at the top and choose "My Referrals" among other statistical data...
I don't see it. I looked there. It doesn't show when each referral last accessed their profile or read any messages I sent to them.
It happens. Some people who join are only looking. Usually the ones who convert are the ones that actually engage with the community.
Thank you, frustrating I am having such a low conversion rate. But I am still plugging along. I am only 1 1/2 in. Have a long way to go.

Yoast or All in One?
Which is better?

You won't get a correct answer for this.
Some will like All in One more, others Yoast.
Yoast seems to offer more advanced options that might be confusing for beginners.
So far I have only been using All in One.
Maybe I will try Yoast on a new site one day.
But since All in One seems to be the standard plugin recommended by WA, I will not change it on my current sites.
I know there is not a correct answer. I was just looking for the general opinion of those who have used both, or one or the other. I have each on one site. Yoast seems more user-friendly and more analytical. So I was wondering what the general opinion on WA is. I was thinking maybe I am not using All in One properly. Is it better to start out with the Affiliate program or the beginner training program?
I think its always better to start with the beginner training because you go over WA pretty well and also learn all the basics. After you do the beginner stuff, you can decide if you want to build a website around a niche or build an affiliate site,
Even if I have experience with hosting and creating websites. I also have experience with SEO. I had a reseller business on Go Daddy.
My personal opinion is that the beginner training program is the foundation of every single thing you are ever going to need to know here at WA. It is what will help you grow and use everything here to the best of your abilities. I say start there! I would not go back and do it any other way!
