Twinkies, you gotta love them....well, your body doesn't, but they sure are tasty treats. However, Hostess couldn't make a business of these fatty little snacks and the time has come that they are completely closing down the plants.

Guess what this has done? Created MASSIVE demand for any remaining Twinkies. In fact, they are selling for 10 times the price they are sold for in a supermarket on auction sites like eBay.

Now there is a niche for you. Reselling twinkies that you buy at the grocery store. Now that is supply and DEMAND!

PS. Hit up your local supermarket and see if they have any Twinkies left. You can likely double or triple your money with ease.

Yes, and since they are so full of preservatives, they'll probably last for 30 years. It's possible someone else will pick them up, but I guess they won't be able to use the Twinkies brand label. Twinkie memorabilia? Save the wrappers.

Yeah, no kidding. They are probably like McDonalds burgers, 20 years later they are still in tact and not even rats are foolish enough to eat them.

Ironically, Twinkies was one of the products that came into being during the Great Depression, very soon after the Crash of 1929, and during hard times, it was one of thousands of small businesses that became giants unto this day.

Originally, the bakery which invented these filled them with strawberries. The problem was, when the strawberries were out-of-season, the machines that filled them were idle. Someone came up with the bright idea of filling them with whipped cream instead!

It not only kept the machines going all year around, we know how much of a hit they became!

Twinkies went out of business due to the drive for healthier foods and went into bankruptcy in May. Sales have plummeted.

I've sure eaten my fair share of them!

i just sat here and watched 4 boxes get sold on ebay for $113. . . . . . .

I was actually at a Walmart here in Canada tonight and they were sold out. Talk about a way to earn seed money for your Internet marketing campaigns. Buy 10 boxes of twinkies ($35), sell them for $40 each, anyone could have an entire year membership at Wealthy Affiliate right there! :)

Ho Ho

Thats crazy Kyle but very true ;-)

Kids gonna missed this the most.

how much you wanna bet they reopen in South East Asia next year and just ship to the states.

I will believe it. The demand will go back to normal though after the crazy rush is over by the end of this week.

33 companies in China now racing fill the gap. First plane load due to arrive next week and dozens of shipping containers will be arriving before years end. The first counterfeit wrappers came off the printing presses today. That's my story and Imma stickin'
to it. If I only had the time and money it would be fun to create an urban myth ! * OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER * The aurthor of this story is stark raving nutz and caution should be exercised in any encounter. The best way to deal with such an event is to pacify the lunatic by gently tossing donuts, Reeses peanutbutter cups, gummi bears and other sweet treats and then sneaking away to safety... :)

Sounds like an onion article to me!

How about buying the Twinkie brand?

I actually searched it earlier, a lot of 10 boxes went for over $300... Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't stock up on boxes when we did our grocery shopping last night.. LOL

Maybe there is still some there. I see them selling for $40 on both ebay and amazon (minimum).

Anyone have a Hostess Twinkie Recipe site?

Now you are talking. WA Twinkie Factory, should we order in the equipment?
