A New Decade at Wealthy Affiliate, a New YOU!

Every year, typically leading up to January 1st, we start to make some New Year's Resolutions. Although I am not a huge proponent of resolutions (because it is a form of procrastinating goals), I am all for setting goals and all for encouraging change and evolution in business and our personal lives.

There are a few resolutions that typically stick out in people's lives. Many of us could use to shed a few pounds of weight after our seasonal shortbread cookies....and every year that is the #1 New Year's Resolution. I work out regularly, but this is going to be one of my goals this year (mainly eating a bit healthier).

The other MOST commonly set resolution is "financial change". People want to earn more money, they want to be happier in their jobs, they want to be fulfilled, and they want to accomplish BIG things in life that provide them with financial returns that afford them the ability to do what they want, when they want.

That is what WE can help you with here at Wealthy Affiliate and I know that the year ahead is going to be our most exciting one yet for members of the community...and it is going to be rife with our greatest success stories ever.

The Next Decade of YOU

Instead of chatting just about the next year ahead, I want to spend some time discussing the next DECADE ahead as we have just entered a brand new decade. 10 years sounds like a lot of time, and it is. You can accomplish amazing things in 10 years. It can also fly by if you don't put some thought into it.

We are entering a new decade, and instead of your typical New Year's Goals, I want you think of the much bigger picture. Let's put a bit of focus on restarting and getting ready for a brand new decade ahead.

What did your last decade look like? What are your plans for the decade ahead?

Obviously we can't prepare for 10 years in one gulp, however we can start to formulate the vision for our next 10 years ahead and certainly we can start to map out the year in front of us.

If you have had a great past 10 years, it is time to look forward to the next. Build on what you have accomplished in the past 10, and do even more amazing things in the next 10 years ahead.

If you have had a tough decade behind you, don't dwell on it. Look forward and remain positive as to how incredible your next 10 years can be. If you dwell on the past, your "potential" in the future will be impacted.

The Next Decade of Opportunity

People have the tendency to think things change at a lightening pace within the technology world. In all reality, they don't. They are much more slow moving than people think, but because small changes happen so frequently, people think that changes is lightening quick.

Look at Facebook, it started 16 years ago. Instagram is 10 years old now. Google is 22 years old.

This feels old, but technology hasn't changed that drastically. Facebook just has a different UX, that has been developed to run fast on the latest technology, and serves more ads than ever. They have incrementally introduced new platforms, some good, some not the best.

That is the reality. These are big companies, they have smart people, and they lead the industry. But they also don't change their direction quickly.

Opportunity is going to continue to grow and although technology will change to some degree over the next 10 years, being "online" is going to be the place where you can grow your business with the way the world is heading.

Automation is happening as we speak and conventional "jobs" are disappearing. There is one economy that continues to grow double digits, year over year...the Internet.

The decade ahead I believe are going to be the golden years for operating a business on the Internet.

The Next Decade of Wealthy Affiliate

One thing that people may not find all that surprising is that we don't plan 10 years out when we plan our business. It's difficult to know exactly how a business (or industry) will evolve in a year...let alone 10. Back in 2010, we couldn't have predicted where Wealthy Affiliate is now and sometimes it can be a bit of a detriment to try to have too rigid of long term plans.

But we have a general goal, one that has always followed very closely to our ethos here at Wealthy Affiliate; HELP People.

If we can help people, and we can make YOUR life easier, we are doing our job. The technology, the training, the community, and the platforms you need to become more efficient. We always want to remain in a position where we are flexible and can change directions quickly to keep in tune with a ever-changing environment like the internet.

The decade ahead is going to be brilliant and we are working on an infrastructure in the year ahead that will set us (and YOU) up for an absolutely brilliant decade ahead. Stay tuned!

Remember, if you are not happy with what you are doing, then any amount of success will not be nearly as fulfilling in your life. Do something you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. The Internet affords us all this brilliant opportunity.
