I want to make my reviews on a full width page with no header and widgets. Is there any wordpress plugin you would recommend? I searched in google and what I mostly get is cuto

Kumar, I don't think you need a plug in for that, although I've never actually done it.

I just went into edit mode on my very oldest post, to experiment a bit before I tried to answer your question.

I was able to get the results you described within about 5 keystrokes.

You can make a post the full width of the page by selecting the Screen Options tab at the top right of the edit page. Eliminating the header is a bit harder, at least in my theme. You may have to play around a bit, uploading a plain white, relatively narrow image - which would cause the same visual affect as no header.

Try this:

While in edit mode for the post or page,

Select the Screen Options tab at the top right of the edit page.

Select the following two options by checking the boxes:
Post Layout Options
Inner Page Header Options

(Note, these options may have a slightly different name, depending on your theme. If you don't have these options at all, the problem is your theme.)

After you've selected these boxes, you may have to select "update."

Go down in your edit screen to these two newly added fields, somewhere after the text of your post. Play with your theme's options. Do what you want - providing your theme supports it.

I hope this works out for you.

If you ABSOLUTELY CAN'T GET WHAT YOU WANT, consider changing themes instead of acquiring a new plugin. Many themes, if not most, will accommodate you in this matter.

All the best,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth really appreciate you writing this long answer for me. The problem is my theme doesn't have the options you mentioned so I can't really make any changes to it.

I would like to change my theme but I already spent a lot of energy making this one "perfect" for me. Thankfully, I did find a plugin that does get me the job done.

Thanks again :)

That's great Kumar!

My theme had me pulling my hair out for a month. I think it had too many options!

Now I know it. I don't exactly love it, but it's become "the devil I know."

I am flat out afraid of the misery inherent in adopting and learning the quirks of a new theme.

So glad you solved your problem!

Yes having a theme with too many options can be confusing. I think it is important to know what exactly you want to achieve with your website. If you have everything you need, I don't think you need to bother about the other options!

Actually I managed to find a plugin to do the job. For those of you who might be keen to know what plugin it is. It is called beaver builder plugin. It's very simple to use. On your wordpress editor page just select full width and remove the heading and footer. And you get a full-width page.

I'm getting dinged on my site health for having just 1 (one) , darn it one single solitary plug-in beyond what is recommended in training here.

"Too many plug-ins can slow loading time."

I admit my site loads a bit slow. I'm wading through course 5. I've promised myself that when I get through it I'll address a laundry list of ancillary issues, slow loading time among them.

I hope this does not become an issue for you.

Yes my site health is affected because of the number of plugins I have. The rest is all 100 but the plugins section is zero. My website is loading very slow. I have to see what are the plugin I need to get rid off!

Well Kumar,

I have read from people more experienced than I that there are ways to improve loading speed other than removing plug-ins.

Like I said, I put that on my "to do list" for AFTER I completed all five courses.

I set my priorities after I got sidetracked a few times trying to deal with problems that were above my education level at the time. The degree of frustration and anxiety I experienced getting bogged down in these technical issues before I had the skills to solve them was simply out of proportion with any benefit. In many cases the training would address the issue a few lessons later, and I would wonder why I put myself through all that.

My priorities are as follows:

1. Produce Content
2. Follow the training and make progress every day
3. Be social here at WA, and help where I can
4. Plan my next steps - by the week, month and year...

I have like 127 broken links on one of my sites. Some are 404 and some are due to bad host. Do you think these broken links will affect my website in ranking?

I check for broken links often. You need to make sure everything is working properly for your site to rank well.
Here are the ones I use.

Hey kumaran,

Google searching your question you would have found your answer straight away! Broken links ... lots of them ... tells Google the site is not being tended. Untended sites rank low automatically.

Hi Trish!

Yes that is a good way of putting it. Thanks a lot :)

I was watching this webinar yesterday to fix some of my webmaster issues.
Hope this helps-

Thank you! Will check it out later :)

Sure!

Yes, You want to clean that up. It's like having a TV plugged in and it's has no picture.

Hehe thanks!

404 pages means anyone who clicks through via search will not find the page.

If you have deleted pages and they are still in search results, you can place a redirect on the link to send visitors to another page instead.

Bad host - could be a temporary issue with some sites and with others it could mean the link is dead. Check each one and decide whether to keep the link active on your site or remove it. If the link is within a comment, you only need to remove the link to the website, not the comment itself.

If you have thousands of links on your site and only 127 are broken, it probably won't affect your ranking, although you should still tend to them.

Thanks a lot jude! Was really helpful :)

Just kind of curious to those who have been promotinhg WA. Would like to know whether putting up and autoresponder and sending them emails have helped you get higher sales.

Triblu's suggested YouTube is a good answer...I looked at it and it will help you....

Hey kumaran,

This video may explain it best: https://youtu.be/1iOMffdrhuE

Hi Trish,

Thanks for the video, it was helpful.
