The Best Keyword Tool For Free
Would you believe it if I told you that it does exist? There is the best keyword tool for free and it is just waiting for you to test it out! This tool has slowly evolved to become my go to keyword research tool!
I am like most other online marketers. Once I find a tool that works, I stop looking at other tools. I stop testing out new and improved tools once I decide which tool works for me. Why should I? If it ain’t broke, don't fix it!
The older days of using Google Keyword External are long behind us now. Google kept telling us that it would soon disappear. But I had been conditioned to assume that Google would offer a replacement of at least the same quality as this amazing keyword tool. I was wrong!
Remember, I am from the old school, where lessons were learned by what NOT to do. I had been tricked, bamboozled, storied to, lied to, and fooled too many times to believe that they were going to take care of me and watch my back.
Of course, I was right. You see, the replacement for the Google keyword external was not of a better quality tool to help would-be marketers find the keywords to help rank their websites high in the SERPS. It was not even what I call the 'same quality' tool as before. It has been transformed into a tool that for Adwords advertisers, which shows the bidding war on choice keywords. It doesn't give good alternatives.
Free Versus Paid Version
I understand the old adage, “you get what you pay for”, and normally under this circumstance that “free” is of a lower quality than “paid” services. Google Adwords Planner would fit nicely into this old adage. Generally the free program of any paid service doesn't include many features that enhance the service as a stand alone, do all program.
Given the choices of free keyword tools the field of contenders is very limited. Since this tool is mandatory in a marketers arsenal of tools I would think there would be a higher set value on this tool. Perhaps that is the reason there isn't a lot of choices in free keyword tools. Does this mean since it is so valuable that no one wants to offer it for free?
So what choices are there today? You have a couple of keyword tools that have a limited “free” access, or trial subscription. I hate trail subscriptions. I'm always more busy counting the number of times I use the service than what the service is doing to benefit me. I guess that comes from trying to get my money's worth of the service.
But as of date, the only keyword tool that offers a trial usage to that I would even consider is Jaaxy, which happens to also be my favorite keyword tool with a paid service. If I remember correctly, they have a “free service” or trial plan of either 20 or 30 attempts before you have to subscribe to the paid version.
The paid version of Jaaxy is no slouch and the features are worth more than the $19 per month subscription that is charged. Since keyword research is by far one of the most important key elements to the success of a website, nineteen dollars a month to access this service is a bargain, regardless of how limiting your monthly budget is.
I have been doing some research into 'free' and 'paid' keyword tool services for this blog and the field of contenders is very narrow indeed. Jaaxy mentioned above, and only a few more with one of them as Wordstream.
Wordstream, at http://www.wordstream.com/home-a-sept2016 offers a free keyword tool. Their own words about it, “The Free Keyword Tool is free for guest users, providing free keyword research. You get 10 free keyword searches up-front, then one free keyword search per day going forward. You can email the full free keywords list of keyword suggestions to yourself for free. Expert keyword research - free!
If you only write a blog post once a week then this service might work for you. If you have an online business that you are serious about, then one keyword search a day isn't going to help you no matter how good your one search per day becomes.
Another tool that is obscure or not a popular choice is the tool at Keyword Discovery found at: http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html. This tool will give you a list of generic and long-tail keywords that you can use for your SEO or PPC marketing campaigns.
Another choice but getting close to the bottom of the barrel is Keyword Spy, found at http://www.keywordspy.com/ which offer a free trial. Register for a Lifetime Free Trial account to get more results. Please enter your name and e-mail address. Their nominal membership site is for $89.95 per month for each service you subscribe tom whether it is research or tracking. The professional service is $139.95 per month, and their Enterprise version is, well, contact them for a quoted price.
As I said earlier the field of contenders is small, which makes them of extreme value. If you are like me you don't like going through the learning curve to learn something new if the prior version you are using is working fine.
Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Tool
When I joined wealthy affiliate I couldn't believe that I never heard of them before. I couldn't believe they offered all these training lessons – on top of the 50 websites hosting service! As I said earlier I am from the old school, and I already knew what the best deals for hosting were and where at. This is just the tip of the iceberg folks! There are more!
One of them is their KEYWORD TOOL. It is FREE to use! I say this because I am a premium member. I think it is free to use for everyone. One thing is for certain though, I rank it up there as high as I do Jaaxy. If you are a premium member of Wealthy Affiliate but are not subscribed to Jaaxy, no worries to you, my friend. You already possess the tool that will rank your website on page one of Google.
How do I know this? Look at the screen shot below. After I did a keyword research on the term, What makes a good keyword, I wrote a post about it, and in less than one hour, position one, page one of Google! See below.
This was using the keyword tool of WA. I have been using it almost exclusively ever since.
In conclusion I must confess that in most cases you do get what you pay for. For members that joined WA on the free membership I congratulate you on a wise decision to joining WA in the first place. You see the value in the ability to learn how to wisely earn online income and build a better tomorrow for yourself and your family. No telling where I'd be on the success ladder had I joined WA a year earlier than I did.
As many good things that can be said about the “free membership” at WA, the premium level is 50 times better, which includes everything. It doesn't get any better than this. Period.
The free keyword tool at WA I suggest everyone use it. If you have an alternate tool, fine, use it, but try WA keyword tool also. You may be surprised at the difference.

Thanks for your information, I believe in what you said about WA keyword search.. I didn't compare it with Jaaxy before, by reading your post I did and I find that it gives the same result, so thanks again and am sticking to WA keyword tool.

I have to admit, keyword research has always baffled me.....but it is something I did to myself by trying to make use of too many services at the same time. You are absolutely right, other than a paid subscription to Jaaxy....hands down the best I have come across is our own keyword tool!
Amen to that Ken, you are most right and I couldn't agree more. Indeed the free of charge Keyword Tool here on WA is, in my opinion, as good as Jaaxy. And that is one more perk you get from being part of the big WA family. I certainly cannot fault that!

But comparing it other programs, it is a bargain for everything you get. Once I learned how to read the WA keyword tool (setting proper numbers), it has been a blessing to me.

I was happier with the monthly fee before Brexit which has caused the GBP to drop in value against the USD!!!
The pound is still worth more than our American dollar, right? I don't know what the actual value difference is but I'm sure it is closer than it use to be. Good for America but bad for GB.

The keyword tool here at WA has done that for me. I toggle back and forth between Jaaxy and WA to find the best long-tail keyword combination to use in my content.
