Eating Right!
I got to a point in my life where my health was such that I had no choice but to change what I was eating, when I was eating and how much I was eating. You see I was a severe diabetic. Yes was - having lost now 75 lbs - I no longer take any insulin or oral medication for my diabetes.
It has also meant that I was able to give up high blood pressure medication as well - And I feel GREAT! Was this easy? Well a lot easier than some would think. I've lost weight before but never this amount - but in truth, I never had the best eating habits. Often times I would have fast food for a quick lunch and get right back to work. I ate fast, snacked often and gradually grew larger and larger!
Now I eat fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains and watch my overall caloric intake on a daily basis. I have made these eating changes under the supervision of my very encouraging doctor! With her approval I am eating less than the recommended 1200 calories minimum daily food intake. She monitors my health every 2 weeks to ensure my 900 calories are sufficient for me. She has insisted that I take a regimen of daily vitamins as well.
But none of this was possible without changing my eating habits. Now I eat for the nutrition my body needs - I drink much more water and I have eliminated many toxic substances! I call it "Eating Right". My doctor wants another 20 lb. weight loss - consider it done!

Kevin, good for you. I went through this 2 years ago and it's actually the heart of my niche. Eat & Cook Healthy, Lose Weight, Exercise, Lower Back Pain Relief, Stop Smoking. All of which I've done as a Personal Experiment Of One. I now take what I have learned and make it easy for you or. makeitez4you.com
And now for a word from our sponsor.... ;^)
Love it Phil. Good for you for making all of those changes. And now its off to see your 'sponsor'. Lol
Congrats on your weight loss and managing your diabetic issues. People don't seem to realize that those TV dinners out there are quick and easy, but offer little else, and oftentimes end up doing more harm than good. Fast Foods too. It's good to see that people are finally coming around, and putting their health above convenience. Great story! You ROCK!
Thanks Terry - I appreciate your vote of confidence. You are so right though - we live in a convenient world but its not all its cracked up to be...
Sir: You have really made a variety of major changes in your life. I salute you for the fortitude and the vision to "turn it around". Many talk about it; not all can do it. You have, and I tip my hat to you for it. It is not always so much how we start the race, but sometimes how we finish. Thanks for your encouraging updates about how you have changed. it helps others believe that they can too...Looking good...feeling good!
Thanks Bob, I really appreciate your comments - I have talked about it before and not been as successful - this time I have a sense of determination that is second to none. It will turn out as I hoped for - because I am determined to get it to that point....and I feel great!
I am glad to hear that you feel good. It is nice to know that positive decisions lead to positive outcomes and a sense of well being and health. Makes sense.....
Keep pushing sir. You are already ahead of so many that just give up. One day at a time ;-)
Thank you - this has been a long journey but no one is giving up on this end! Just have to buy new clothes...
Kevin, congratulations to both you and your very unusual Doctor! I wish this post could be on the front page of every newspaper and in every Doctor's office in the country! It is a great example of the unbelievable ability to heal and repair that our body has if we just are willing to help it a bit. You should be a very happy and proud man for accomplishing what so few do! Continued success to you.
Harold
Thank you so much Howard! I am very proud and yes I have had my share of changes lately but they are all for the better. Perhaps you are right my doctor is unusual - unusually good i.e. :)
Glad you made the transition without too much trouble. I call it a life change diet. Even though someone may not need to loose weight, the change from unhealthy food to healthy is sometimes a challenge for people. Especially if they are in a time crunch and eat on the fly.
Keep up the great foods.
Thank you Linda, You are quite right the change itself is a challenge but for me it was necessary all the same!
