Hey there, my name is Kevin and great to meet you here within the Wealthy Affiliate community! :)

I have been in the home business and online marketing industry for several years now. In that time, I built several successful home businesses and a few which were not so successful.

I am now looking to further my development with the help of WA and looking forward to network with like-minded people seeking success!

I followed the conventional route of education by going to university, getting a law degree, then worked as a lawyer for a bank in London but got made redundant due to the company relocating. It didn't go to plan.

Have you ever been told this route to follow by mainstream society; go to school, get good grades, go to university, get a good job, work for 40 years...depressing isn't it? There's got to be so much more to life.

In a way it proved to be a blessing to lose my job as I was never completely happy working in the legal profession...daily commute, office politics, etc.

To be honest, I believe I studied law to keep my parents happy. It wasn't my dream but theirs. No fault of them at all though. It's what society drums into us all from an early age to choose a respectable profession like a doctor, lawyer or accountant. What about the artists, writers, sculptors, musicians, poets. Sigh, a dreamer I hear you say but does this pay the bills. :)

I was always felt I was searching for something but I didn't know what it was at the time until I lost my job. That was the big "wake up" call and key to unlock the door.

I wanted to do my own thing, be my own boss and build a secure financial future for my family. As it turned out a conventional job was not the way to go!

I started to look at home business opportunities where I could create an income similar to what I was earning in my career and joined a well known MLM company. The experience I gained literally changed my life on so many levels.

After 12 months I was earning the same monthly as I was earning monthly in my job. Yes, it took 12 months. I needed to learn and develop the skills required to earn the same income.

The biggest challenge I faced was was my own mindset and personal development. Your income can only grow if your mindset grows. That's the biggest tip I can give you. Fear and self sabotage are the biggest inhibitors of self development. If you can live without these then you’ll be limitless, unstoppable and superhuman!! :)

Several years later I came across WA and I have now been here for over 6 years. In those 6 years, I have qualified for the WA Las Vegas conference 5 years in a row and in November 2016 I surpassed my initial monthly income goal of $5000.

That was my main income goal when I joined WA back in March 2014. It took over 2 years to do but I achieved it. I kept focused and working towards my goals. You can achieve your own goals through the WA training too!

To make money in this industry takes time, effort and investment. It’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Most people give up before they even get properly started, or just before they are about to experience some success. Will this be you..?

WA is not a get rich quick overnight scheme (if 'get rich overnight schemes' existed I dare guess everyone would be doing them) instead solidly building an online business with WA requires keeping focused and working smart on your goals EVERYDAY!

It's similar to doing a 3/4 year college degree. You progress as you learn step by step and succeed when you know enough.

SPOILER ALERT: You've got to be in for the long-term for the training to work here at WA. It's all about building a solid and sustainable online business that potentially will go on paying you a PASSIVE and RESIDUAL INCOME for possibly the rest of your life.

That’s why I seriously recommend you become a Premium Yearly member (congrats if you’re already a Premium monthly member). Upgrading to Yearly gives you realistic time to work on your business and you need that amount of time to build and then scale your business. That’s what I did and it worked out very well!

Kyle has said, “the most successful members here at WA are yearly members! Why? Because they set a realistic time-frame for themselves to achieve and surpass their goals.”

Think of the first 1 - 3 years (much of the hard work is done in these early years) as the “engine room, business building” years that lay the solid foundation to grow your business, moving onto the 4th year and beyond.

You have to think long-term, not just this month, or next month. No proper sustainable business can operate that way. Think where will your business be in 12, 24, 36, 48 months from now.

I also found that you learn most through trial and error. By making mistakes we learn and we then have the opportunity to correct them through experience. We learn new things everyday. That I believe is the point of life to love, learn, grow and evolve.

I was fortunate to work a while with the late Internationally renowned business philosopher Jim Rohn who provided some valuable advice to me which I will never forget, he said

"work harder on yourself than you do on your job or business and the rewards will come. You will find in the end, it's not about the money you make but instead about the person you become."

These words stayed with me and the point is to work on your mindset at all times especially when you experience challenges which undoubtedly you will.

Having your own online business is great fun, particularly if you have a passion for it. It's like most things in life, “do what you love to do” and you will enjoy the journey much more.

If this is for you…then take the leap of faith and remember there are many experienced people within the WA community to help you along the way.

Please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help :)

As Jim would say, "Lets do this together."

To our Success!

Kevin

"Don't wish it was easier wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge wish for more wisdom." ~ Jim Rohn

HI Kevin

With regards to narrowing down my target audience - the goal for my business it to become a holistic resource for wealth, health and happiness. The main focus will be assisting and teaching people how to make money online (even though i am still learning) as well as adapting positive mindsets a health happy environment in which to thrive.
Our domain name does not have any "MMO" keywords in it? Is is the name of my company.. Will this be a problem or will be able to rank with smart tag titles meta tags ect?
Our main audience was going to be focused on stay home mom's or people with part time jobs needing a second income - it that to broad??

Hi Calli,

It looks like you have 2 niches. I recommend to focus on building a website in just one niche. They can overlap quite easily but it’s important to narrow down your niche so that your not competing with similar popular keywords with your competitors. This will make it hard to rank on page 1 of google if your niche is too broad.

Try to think outside the box and focus on a niche which is narrow. What’s a niche you’re interested in that doesn’t have much competition, or one which you can become a brand authority in?

If you are going to promote the make money online niche then you’ll want to go through the Bootcamp course. This course is really for those members who can’t think of a niche at this early stage. It can be very challenging to make any headway in the mmo niche as it’s extremely competitive and can become off-putting for new affiliate marketers.

If you’re going to promote the positive mindset niche, which I recommend, then you’ll want to go through the Online Entrepreneur Certification course. Again, I advise to narrow this niche down and focus on a specific topic area...a niche within a niche...

Hi Kevin, the training is going well so far but I have some questions. As you know I picked baby equipment as my niche. Will the website be set up like a blog where I share information on the products I prefer and there will be links to amazon items to buy? Also, will people be able to comment on what I say on my website; like a discussion format?

Great to hear you’re progressing well with the training Toni-an. Yes, you’ll be creating a blog providing product reviews with links to buy from affiliate companies. The step by step training explains this in detail so I recommend working through each lesson carefully to understand this more. People will also be able to comment on each post you publish.

Hey Kevin! I had a few questions. This training is designed for those attempting to generate traffic on a personal blog/website in the hopes of becoming a successful affiliate marketer. I am trying to create ranking websites for small businesses in the hopes of renting them out. A lot of this process is the same, however I am feeling stuck as I move through the "Creating Keyword Rich Content" portion of Level 2. On a website geared toward writing articles within your niche, I understand the role that creating several keyword rich posts plays in getting you ranked and generating traffic. On a website that is advertising a service for a small business, you can't write several blog posts, typically there is a home page that gives the businesses run down, and directs you to call them. How does the role of keyword rich content change in this scenario versus in the affiliate marketing scenario? How can I use this strategy to maximize SEO when I have very limited space for content?

Hey Zulkifl, there are several trainings on how to promote local small businesses if you search on the WA search bar. Jay has also done several webinars. Here is one you may find helpful:

Hi Kevin and others. quick question. In the Dashboard. under the post tab. To the right of your post, there are 3 tabs that are empty but you can edit them. SEO Title, SEO description, and SEO Keywords. Would you place the relative info there or leave it blank? also when you do keyword research you usually come up with around 5 - 10 keywords. Would you advise placing them in the SEO keyword slot?

Hi Ryan, yes you want to complete those fields. Also, you want to add your main focus keyword. This would be sufficient. For every content you create it should be created around your main focus keyword.
