Hey there, my name is Kevin and great to meet you here within the Wealthy Affiliate community! :)

I have been in the home business and online marketing industry for several years now. In that time, I built several successful home businesses and a few which were not so successful.

I am now looking to further my development with the help of WA and looking forward to network with like-minded people seeking success!

I followed the conventional route of education by going to university, getting a law degree, then worked as a lawyer for a bank but got made redundant due to the company relocating. It didn't go to plan.

Have you ever been told this route to follow by mainstream society; go to school, get good grades, go to university, get a good job, work for 40 years...depressing isn't it? There's got to be so much more to life.

In a way it proved to be a blessing to lose my job as I was never completely happy working in the legal profession...daily commute, office politics, etc.

To be honest, I believe I studied law to keep my parents happy. It wasn't my dream but theirs. No fault of them at all though. It's what society drums into us all from an early age to choose a respectable profession like a doctor, lawyer or accountant. What about the artists, writers, sculptors, musicians, poets. Sigh, a dreamer I hear you say but does this pay the bills. :)

I was always felt I was searching for something but I didn't know what it was at the time until I lost my job. That was the big "wake up" call and key to unlock the door.

I wanted to do my own thing, be my own boss and build a secure financial future for my family. As it turned out a conventional job was not the way to go!

I started to look at home business opportunities where I could create an income similar to what I was earning in my career and joined a well known MLM company. The experience I gained literally changed my life on so many levels.

After 12 months I was earning the same monthly as I was earning monthly in my job. Yes, it took 12 months. I needed to learn and develop the skills required to earn the same income.

The biggest challenge I faced was was my own mindset and personal development. Your income can only grow if your mindset grows. That's the biggest tip I can give you. Fear and self sabotage are the biggest inhibitors of self development. If you can live without these then you’ll be limitless, unstoppable and superhuman!! :)

Several years later I came across WA and I have now been here for over 6 years. I upgraded to Premium immediately on joining,

In those 6 years, I have qualified for the WA Las Vegas conference 5 years in a row and in November 2016 I surpassed my initial monthly income goal.

That was my main income goal when I joined WA back in March 2014. It took over 2 years to do but I achieved it. I kept focused and working towards my goals. You can achieve your own goals through the WA training too!

To make money in this industry takes time, effort and investment. It’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Most people give up before they even get properly started, or just before they are about to experience some success. Will this be you..?

WA is not a get rich quick overnight scheme (if 'get rich overnight schemes' existed I dare guess everyone would be doing them) instead solidly building an online business with WA requires keeping focused and working smart on your goals EVERYDAY!

It's similar to doing a 3/4 year college degree. You progress as you learn step by step and succeed when you know enough.

SPOILER ALERT: You've got to be in for the long-term for the training to work here at WA. It's all about building a solid and sustainable online business that potentially will go on paying you a PASSIVE and RESIDUAL INCOME for possibly the rest of your life.

That’s why I seriously recommend you become a Premium Yearly, or even better, a Premium Plus Yearly member (congrats if you’re already a Premium monthly member).

Upgrading to Yearly gives you realistic time to work on your business and you need that amount of time to build and then scale your business. That’s what I did and it worked out very well!

Kyle has said, “the most successful members here at WA are yearly members! Why? Because they set a realistic time-frame for themselves to achieve and surpass their goals.”

Think of the first 1 - 3 years (much of the hard work is done in these early years) as the “engine room, business building” years that lay the solid foundation to grow your business, moving onto the 4th year and beyond.

Those first 3 years you'll go through blood, sweat and tears. Many times you will want to quit, thinking you're not cut out for this. You got to keep with it. The success is in the journey and not the destination.

Actually, do you ever know when you have reached your destination as the goal posts get wider and wider when you think you have achieved the slightest bit of success.

You have to think long-term, not just this month, or next month, or the month after that. No proper sustainable business can operate that way. Think where will your business be in 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 months from now.

I also found that you learn most through trial and error. By making mistakes we learn and we then have the opportunity to correct them through experience. We learn new things everyday. That I believe is the point of life to love, learn, grow and evolve.

I was fortunate to work a while with the late Internationally renowned business philosopher Jim Rohn who provided some valuable advice to me which I will never forget, he said

"work harder on yourself than you do on your job or business and the rewards will come. You will find in the end, it's not about the money you make but instead about the person you become."

These words stayed with me and the point is to work on your mindset at all times especially when you experience challenges which undoubtedly you will.

Having your own online business is great fun, particularly if you have a passion for it. It's like most things in life, “do what you love to do” and you will enjoy the journey much more.

If this is for you…then take the leap of faith and remember there are many experienced people within the WA community to help you along the way.

Please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help :)

As Jim would say, "Lets do this together."

To our Success!

"Don't wish it was easier wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge wish for more wisdom." ~ Jim Rohn

It's probably because you don't have enough relevant and engaging high quality original content on your site. Don't be in a hurry to apply to relevant affiliate programs. I highly recommend you have at least 20-30+ posts on your site before applying to any affiliate program.
hi there, I want to set up an online tutoring company and I am currently living in the uk. I am unsure as to whether this is the right place to do so. if so, could you give me some guidance on how to build the most approachable website for students who are willing to access my page. Also, I have some questions. will students who only have a wealthy affiliate account be able to access my page?

That's awesome Emre! Great that you made it here to WA. You're in the best place to learn about affiliate marketing.

I recommend starting Course 1: Anyone will be able to access your website.

If you need any guidance with the lessons, or have any questions, then let me know.

Wishing you great success! :)

Hi, I'm Daniel and I really would love to say your story resonates with me. I studied a degree in Chemistry and went on to even pursue a masters degree but I have always known and felt I wasn't really doing what I wanted. I graduated last year and haven't really done any job hunting. I have been to a couple of interviews and I just feel I would be miserable stuck in a laboratory all day. By chance I happened to get a link of wealthy affiliate and here I am. I would really love to start my own business and the freedom that comes with it. I am currently taking the training session and I am on lesson 9 which is about finding relevant key words for my website. I am a huge fan of sneakers and trainers and I decided to call my website Your Slick Trainers although I have little or no knowledge at all about trainers. Not sure if that's a catchy name yet either but yea. Well for the key word search, I couldnt really find any key words and I feel stuck. I would really like your help moving forward and if you have any advice you could give me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

That's a great domain name Takudzwa! I recommend to keep working carefully through each step by step lesson. There's no rush to get through each lesson. It's much better to take your time to understand the concepts, making sure to carry out the action tasks in each lesson. That's the best advice I can give. Just think you have access to world-class training from Kyle and Carson with these courses which have been developed over the last 15 years. Little ol me can't give you much more than that. :)

Hello Kevin, for your information I am stuck on writing a review of Wealthy Affiliate. Since I am relatively new and just getting started. May I please request some guidelines and possible input on what specific areas to write about. I am currently experiencing difficulty with this. I very much would appreciate it. Sincerely, Gregory Brewer

Hey Gregory,

The step by step lessons in the Bootcamp course teach you how to write your WA review. To get additional input, I suggest searching "wealthy affiliate review" on google and look at the sites that are on page 1. You can see what areas they focus on and how they structure their content. This will give you a good idea on what areas to write about.

Thank you Kevin. I will do that.

Hello Kevin, I have finished 2 trainings already but I'm still having trouble understanding SEO. My post are uploaded and on my website yet if i do a google search for my keyword topic or even my website I get no results. Doesn't seem like google recognizes my website. Any suggestions?

It could be that your posts are not indexed just yet. Your site and domain I assume are very new so I recommend to keep working through the training and creating/publishing new original content. Google will index, and more importantly rank your content, as time progresses.
