Thank you for this training Edu. The tool will come in handy for me. Someone mentioned it in a comment thread saying that it has wonderful features. I see what they meant and I totally agree. I have always written my posts directly on my website but this will be easier and quicker. Thank you very much.

Is it safe to say that any future editing, in addition to uploading images, should just be done in Wordpress?

Also, if google can index what we write on SiteContent and any updates of the same post in Wordpress, will that hurt our ranking chances for the post because it is in two places?
Reply
JohnV Premium
My understanding is that your content is only actually published on your site, so there is no issue of duplicate content. The site creator merely acts as a conduit, while helping you to get your content formatted correctly and ready to simply add images and then publish.
Reply
TopAchiever Premium
Kyle answered this question saying that no one, not even Google can see what you've put in SiteContent. It is safe and Algorithms have been set in place to compare if content is authentic or not.

The whole purpose of creating posts / pages / articles in SiteContent is to be able to write down your thoughts in an instant and not have to leave the platform to open another app.

SiteContent will be updated on an ongoing basis and we will eventually be able to add images - Carson alluded to that in one of his post when SiteContent was first launched. They will role out the feature one step at a time.

Let me know if you need any further help or assistance.

Thank you @JohnV and @topachiever for the clarification. Using it has simplified the writing process for me just as you both have pointed out.

It may have been from reading another member's post, but I really thought I read that our SiteContent posts help improve our google rankings and with that notion I may have made the assumption that google about the duplicate content.

Thanks also for the link!

Dear Tegonza
Good questions!
The problem is images in Word Press do not upload properly.
Other WA members have faced images blowing up, as they describe it, when published.
Check with Online Lab Guy for Word Press Tutorials: 'Images In Word Press,' specifically, and check with Kyle privately.

Nicely Done! Very Easy To follow! Thank You!

I would like more information regarding the factors that comprise the "Writing Level" found in the Stats & Goals. If I know the factors that go into the number I will have more of an idea how I can increase my rating.

Thanks for your input.

Hi George

I believe this is still in the teething stage, but from what I've gathered and my own application to using SiteContent, it is dependent on how many articles you write, how many words you write and most importantly, how many articles you successfully publish to your website on an ongoing basis.

One huge factor is that your content must be authentic and original - just to emphasize the importance! :-)

Let me know if you need any further info.

I tried publishing today. The lack of access to the upload image, and text editor, putting metadata, customizing the texts in the summary field, and setting the featured image are something that I need before I hit the publish button. Maybe I'll wait for those features before I use the Site Content platform again.

These issues have been addressed and are in the process of being incorporated in the bigger picture of rolling out the platform in several phases.

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.

Thanks for this and good info but I am still wondering what is the point of this because I am unable to write with images and so it mean double work going and posting g then re editing back into WP.
It seems like I have to spend more time learning something new just to post it in my WP whereas I could have gone there as normal - so what am I missing?

The images will come. There is a definite process of strategic order in rolling out this Multi-faceted Platform as Carson so aptly alludes to in his lastest blog: In there he mentions that Images have DELIBERATELY been left out - they HAVE included them, but in the rolling out of the new feature they have been omitted for the time being.

One of the greatest advantages of this platform is that you have a central place to create content instead of having to log in to 3 or 5 websites to create content. Since the platform incorporates the websites you've added to your account here at Wealthy Affiliate, you are able to allocate your content to whichever website you want in an instant.

Many other features WILL be added in the future, but as with all things new... there is a teething stage and all the issues have to be dealt with and so we progress in baby steps.

Eventually the SiteContent platform will be a force to be reckoned with and will become a State Of The Art Tool to creating Site Content!

Hang in there! It will come! Have patience and you will see in due time what is in store for us!

Regards

Edu

Hey buddy understand what you are saying and for people with a few sites that is great but why would you want to put the same blog to different sites that have different Niches?
I know it will make sense one day!

paul
Reply
TopAchiever Premium
No you wouldn't, but if you want to create 10 different blogs and put 2 on each site you would have to login 5 times going through the motions and clicks, whereas this feature allows you to do all 10 in an instant, in Save Draft mode, then if you need to tweak them login in only if you need to, the others you would've published already and don't need to access them, they are already live on your website.

I believe this will evolve to the point where you won't have to login to WordPress to Publish - I think that is the long term goal that is foreseen here.

Tweaks and amendments need to be done in order for this to be a reliable and viable platform.

I understand that you and Jovo don't see the use of logging into WordPress anyway to finish the article, and I see your point. However, this is a work in progress and it will evolve.
Reply
paulgoodwin Premium
Yes I know and sure it will be amazing when all finished as with everything here at WA and great to see you back again!

Hi Edu. Thank you for the training. Here are some comments.

I do not see options for meta tags and tags. I do not publish text without it. Have I missed it somewhere? So have to go to WP.

The same is with images which represent a huge work because they are linked to Amazon in my case; so there is a lot of things to do after you publish the text. I also use a rating system, and this is in WP.

So I wonder why using this tool if I cannot finish my document? This just makes no sense.

The only new thing is the plagiarism check, but as I write texts myself I do not need it.

TopAchiever Premium
Hi Jovo!

Great to interact with you again! I have missed WA so much, but hope to be interacting much more now.

I believe the Meta Tags and Tags will come with different versions that are rolled out. This is still in it's infancy new beginnings days and I'm sure Kyle and Carson will do their utmost to implement these additions in the near future.

Carson covers the reason for no images in his latest blog and the Images WILL definitely be coming in the following versions. I agree with you that there is more to do after publishing the article to the website and I'm sure those issues will be sorted out from feedback such as yours. It will not go unnoticed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your most valuable feedback and insights. Much appreciated.

It is early days yet. Images are going to be added and a lot more features.

I worked on my first post there today, saved it as draft to finish tomorrow. So far I love it - the goal setting, templates and what is yet to come.

You can wait until more features are implemented, but I prefer to "grow" with it as it evolves. ~Jude

Yes I did read it, but the issues I mentioned are not discussed there, except images. I am puzzled as always, why making an unfinished tool available to people. As it is, it makes things more complicated. The omitted meta tags and tags suggests to users that they are not important, which is surely not so.

Thank you again, I am glad you are back.

TopAchiever Premium
I agree Jude. It is quite exciting working with it as it's quick and easy. Granted there is the factor of having to go back to WordPress, but the fact is your content has been written and you can save a draft in SiteContent before Publishing. So that's a plus.

Thanks, I just finished writing and publishing my first blog post using site content earlier today. I never even noticed the stats part. I wonder what the 1/5 means? I'm also wondering what the bucket will do? I like the fact you can set word number goals and I may start doing that.
Reply
TopAchiever Premium
The 1/5 is the Writing Skills level that you have attained.
Bucket is to contain snippets of information you find on the internet that you may want to make a note of - kind of like a bucket list that you will get to use later.

I agree with you, the Word Count is a great motivator to keep you informed of your progress in reaching your goal.

Let me know if there is anything you need further assistance with.
