Growing Pains
Tomorrow will be my second month anniversary. Ok, I am one minute into it! Well, this is it. Officially I am one minute into my third month.
I have noticed that the classroom sessions are great. It is up to me to apply them meticulously. Failure to do so may end up in some painful growing pains like the ones I am going through. I am being transparent as a caution to all Wealthy Affiliates.
Check Your Website Online Frequently.
I got a shock when Amazon dropped my affiliate membership. To their credit, they sent me an email which got buried in a sea of emails I recieve daily. Their reason was clear. Some of my pages do not open when clicked on. I went online and found out that for sure, three of the pages do not open correctly. That was a painful slap.
Ignorance is No Legal Excuse
The fact that I did not know sounded even more rediculous to me when I was with them on the phone. Good reason for them not to entrust their products to someone who will not even check their links. I will do the same in their position. Rather than view this negatively, I consider it a great learning opportunity, an inevitable push for me to excel.
No Failure Needs to Be Final
They are not banning me. They just want my website to be more developed and I can apply later. So I am working more on the site. I believe I will end up with one of the best websites in the community. Watch out, I said one of the best. I did not say the best. The reason is simple, I do not one to be a lone star. I want to shine brightly as a star in a constellation.
The Incontestible Issue of Unique Content
The lessons on WA emphasize that but I seem to not have understood it enough. When you are not used to online business, words may not translate into practical application due to their unfamiliarity. One thing that the Amazon associate customer care representative told me was that if all the affiliate products were taken off my site, there will be little content left for the visitor. You do not have to wait to be slapped by Amazon like they did to me to do it right. Make sure you heed to what the lessons say.
You Will Not be Able to Sell Without Helping.
That was in one of the very first lessons. Content is helping people. The lessons said it but I did not know much about content until it was defined to me today. Provide enough content in your website so that even if all the affiliate links and products were taken off, your visitors will be glad they visited your site. So when they buy from you, they are actually grateful they visited, and the purchase a small token for all they learnt.
No Gain Without Pain
The first gain for me is doing it right. I have been working with Nathaniell to do it right. At least now I know how to creat a better menu. I also know how to fix broken permalinks so the problem of posts not opening is solved. This one on one mentorship lesson would not have been possible without this royal pain of being slapped by Amazon. I have embeded links to the two lessons he helped me to solve my problem in case you need them. Freely I recieved, freely I give.
Doing it the Right Way is Hard Permanent Work
By the time I am done with my website I will probably be a pro. Being successful as an affiliate is not a get rich quick scheme. It is hard work, but I know it is permanent work. In the end I may relax and work at something else while the hard work of today pays off.
When it is Easier to be Discouraged
Today was a day when discouragement beckoned hard at me. It winked and cajoled and called my name several times. I gave a deaf ear. I chose to allow passion triumph over the pain of set back. I choose to see this as the highway to excellence. So when my card is charged tomorrow for my third month premium, I will thank God and rejoice. All what I leant today alone is way more than I could have acquired elsewhere for ten times the monthly premium. That supposes you find the person who knows exactly what to do and will respond to you within minutes.

As a long time Amazon Associates I did not know that they viewed my site. actually I have more than one. This is very valuable information and I really appreciate it. I will assign someone to check every page on every website at the beginning of every month from now on.
Going to keep this one. By the way the rule is 'i before e except after c". Saw a couple of backwards spellings. Rediculuous is ridiculous. Told someone I was a nit-picker but I did that as part of my living and I know how something as simple as this can be off putting. Feel free to return the favour.

Glad you are finding deep meaning in your journey. No one lives by the simple facts of life. We all live by the interpretation of those facts and experiences. I'm glad you are continuing to interpret your journey as meaningful and worthwhile.
