Papa Is Surprised With Some Special Love

I did not know for sure if I was going to share this or not but I decided I must. My heart is so full of emotion because of a special gift I received on Valentines Day. Papa is surprised with some special love!

The day was a Tuesday and I did not expect any gifts. I am a single guy and really did not think my children were getting me anything. Jason and Carly were making a cheese fondue for dinner which I was looking forward to. The grand kids and Jason and Carly had their gifts to each other which I knew they were going to open.

We have to step back to the Saturday before the fluttering of wings was to take place. Our monthly family party was on that day. The swapping of gifts and sharing of a delicious meal was done on that day. This is why I thought I was clear for Valentines Day.

Olivia - my 6 year old granddaughter - was home from school. The time had to be about 3:35 PM as that is the usual time she gets home. She called down the stairs to me. " Papa, can you come upstairs."

I called back "I am on my way." I walked up the stairs to see all the gifts being passed around - including two for me! I was very shocked and very happy!

Jason and Carly along with Marshall, Olivia and Jack got me a box of my favorite candy. It is dark chocolate covered cherries! Olivia game me a card she made ins school. Carly and Marshall made me this card:

Needless to say I had tears in my eyes and I have them again just thinking of that special moment! It is all of these special things that make life what it is for me....Perfect!
