Steps On How to Make Money Online - Task No. 1: List Long Term Financial Goals
So, here's the thing. I am learning the steps on how to make money online again.
After being a premium member of this WONDERFUL online business community since 2015, I decided to go through the Online Entrepreneur Certification Course - Getting Started AGAIN.
You know just to refresh my memory and understand the aspects that I probably didn't understand when I just started back then.
In a way, I'm starting from scratch (in my mind). 2016 was a challenging year, and I want to make sure 2017 is the best one yet!
But, before we learn the exact steps on how to make money online with our websites, in the very first training tutorial, Kyle asks us to do is to list (long term) financial goals.
Pardon me.
To be exact he said to "create/write down those goals".
Anyway, below are the questions he asked and my answers to these questions.
QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?
Let me be somewhat humble in the answer to the first question. I would say, for now, I'd be happy earning $100-$500 per month (of passive income).
QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic earning?
Challenging question indeed :)) I want to say millions, but at THIS stage of life, I would be ecstatic earning $5,000-$10,000 per month (of passive income).
It is this amount (or more) I would like to consider as my LONG-TERM financial goal ;)
QUESTION #3: How much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?
Due to various reasons, in 2016 I wasn't giving a lot of attention to my blog baby, but this year I'm strongly determined.
(And so far am doing a good job!)
So, to achieve these goals, I am willing to invest minimum 5 days a week of at least 6-8 hours.
Now, if you went through the very first training at WA and didn't answer these answers, do it too!
Kyle strongly encouraged NOT to skip this step. This way, we'll be able to revisit this list of goals for extra motivation to work on your success online.
I understand where he is coming from.
After all, last year I myself gave advice in my tutorials on the importance of visualization and goal setting, as well as the ways to motivate yourself to do work - one of which was breaking down your big goal into bite-sized pieces.
So, if the ultimate financial goal of yours is to make $10,000,000, you should break down that amount and get there step by step.
You may start from making 10 cents of commissions on Amazon but it's a GREAT start. Trust me! It took me exactly 5 months to make my first commissions there.
Anyway, the point is, is that you start small but with persistence and patience, you WILL get there.
I sincerely believe that.

Zarina, great post. In our daily life that sometimes seems like a box that you cannot escape from we truly forget why we got into this internet thing in the first place. Some people are motivated by money, some are by other factors that can be labeled success. Imporving yourself on a daily basis is success in itself if we think about it that way. Writing down goals is paramount to continued success. Good luck to everyone in 2017. Let us keep in mind we have a entire community to help. As the saying goes:" It takes a village to raise a child.."

I totally agree that improving ourselves on a daily basis is a success in itself. My nana used to say a similar saying in Russian! Maybe that's why I ended up being a lover for constant learning, be it in school or self-learning :)
I found a great benefit from having the goals down in this post - I can revisit my goals and so motivate myself to move further.

Thanks for sharing your story Zaria. It's very easy to stray away from the correct path because we are all anxious to get to that pot of gold. That's why we're all here. The training here is awesome beyond belief. I have not yet reached my 2 month mark but am trying to absorb as much as I can. I am slowly going through the training but I am okay with taking my time. My goals weren't huge to start with because I know with time it will grow. With you renewed focus, I wish you great successes moving forward.

The training and the community and the support is definitely state-of-the-art, in that don't even doubt yourself!
I became a premium on my SECOND day as a free member and I never regretted it, even though I did have my ups and DOWNS last year. Mostly it was my fault as I could focus on the training and work - not WA's :)
Anyway, I didn't doubt I would be a yearly member second-time around.
Also, congrats on joining the WA!! How do you like it so far? How's the learning and the website building going? Need a help with anything? :)
Things are going okay so far. I have a site online and building it out with good content. Just completed Cert. Lesson 3 and moving on to 4. I am learning a lot for sure. Thank you so much for your offer of help. I may need some later. Hope everything is going well with you.

The time I will invest is 5 hours per day
I was being very specific with my answers because, like you, I know that if you don't have a firm goal you won't be able to create a firm plan.

It's always good to go back over everything because you can always pick up something even if you've done it more times to the point that it becomes a dream when you sleep

I remember I went through the whole first training in 2 days, barely having any sleep - so it is VERY possible that I missed out on some key points that I should be aware of :)
In fact, as I was going over it yesterday, I did realize that I missed on some GREAT tutorials posted by my online mentor, Steve, concerning Amazon affiliate program. I was shocked when I realized that I never got to see that training (or maybe I just forgot?).
Hi and what a great post - I am very similar to you. I started with WA but just concentrated in my own product and have got a good solid website with a bit of interest and actually sole about 3500 of cables this year. Now if I could double it in 2017 I would be more than happy.
I am only doing the audio cables. I have not looked at amazon or affiliate links or building up the WA business.
I guess I am doing it the hard way but as you say it could just kick in a a matter of a few days!!!
I would love to sell 100 cables this year and then I could finish building my house - OMG 100 cables is that all when the market place is so big that sounds so easy BUT it is not because people ask skeptical!!!!

Anything is possible - and since you already are experienced in what you do and your website has some serious foundation, I don't think it will be hard to produce further sales.
