What is your marketing strategy?

I was recently listening to a talk by Ted McGrath. He was saying that you can have the best course in the world but without an effective marketing strategy no one is ever going to see it.

He was talking about funnels and how to "funnel" people to your website so they can sign up for your course.

I guess I was about to do it backwards because my thought was create the course first—using the mentality of "If you build it, he will come."

So my next thought was then, how do I create a marketing plan that will attract people to my site so they will want to sign up for the life-changing, inspirational course that will give them insight into not only how to make money, but also how to make all of life better.

Well, since I work at a newspaper, I decided to sell an ad to myself. And I did. The edition just came out today so (weekly newspaper) I can't give you any results yet. But I will keep you posted.

My strategy is simple, I wrote the ad and then I wrote an editorial about the ad. Most of the people around here know me for my writing, so I thought let's cover all the bases! I also am giving one person the course for free. It was probably worth more, but I said it was a $199 value.

My granddaughter is going to help me put the video course together. The whole point of the course is to give people some value (of course) but then direct them to WA for more.

I recently went over to a local businessman's house and helped him a little. He said he had been a part of WA but did not see the value in it. I am hoping to show him the value of it again so he will rejoin. (Whoever he was signed up under originally will get the sale. You're welcome!)

I will be posting my ad on my Facebook pages and will be following more of the training from Kyle and other masterful experts from WA to better prepare myself for the funneling!

In the meantime, I keep plugging away at crafting the best I can so that, with hope, many someone's will be potential clients!

I'm stoked. Every day we can learn a little bit more! I feel like I have learned a lot more since I returned to WA.

Persistence is the key

For certain. And listening to sage advice.

Karin

That's great, Karin. Keep on moving forward with the marketing.

Myra ♥️

Thank you Myra. I will most certainly have to add the marketing component to my video classes!

Karin

Thanks for sharing, Karin.

Just wanted to share a thought.

I've been hearing and reading this too, that we should sell first then only create. And this helps us to know whether there is anyone interested with the products or services we are creating.

But it takes a mindset shift for me. I end up still creating a course first and then start promoting. It is more like I want to ensure I have more confidence to deliver.

I think I only started promoting on social media only when my course materials were about 80% complete.

But I think over time, the saying that "marketing first, create later" will happen for me as I get a bit more confident.

And perhaps that's what everyone needs to go through first? Those experts who say that we should market first may already have the pre-requisite knowledge and understanding of what it takes to create the products and services.

I hear you on the mindset shift. Everything about selling something that doesn't currently exist seems wrong. I am used to selling a physical product, advertising in a newspaper (print and starting online).

But marketing this class which currently does not exist is completely just plain weird.

I am not understanding of funnels and things like that...yet.

I think if I can get an understanding of that it will be easier for me.

This thinking has also begun to influence the way I sell my ads in the physical newspaper. I will write about that at some later point.

Thanks for replying. It gave me more things to think about!

Karin

Very awesome, indeed, Karin!

My marketing right now is for my physical business, but you keep moving forward, my friend!

Very well done!

Jeff

All we can ever do is what we can do or make ourselves do. I feel a bit of confidence that this marketing will work. I plan to offer more free classes as a way to hopefully gather more interest and maybe some eventual sales.

Take care and have a great FriSatSu coming tomorrow!

Karin

Sounds awesome, Karin!

Happy Frisatsu!

Jeff
