Slow Going
I am not a person who likes going slow—at least in my mind. But in reality—I go slow!
I am almost always the last person to get done eating a meal. I go slow. I savor each bite—I go slow!
If I am in a race, don't look for me at the front of the pack—that would be me in the back!
I have slow metabolism.
There are few things about me that are not slow.
One thing that goes fast is my thinking. I think all the time and I do it quickly. I can come up with a conspiracy theory about something within seconds!
I have fully developed my castle, my wait staff, the gardens and the pools all within moments of time. But the actual work to get there is a LOT slower!
I wouldn't say that I am lazy, I am just slow. I like to procrastinate.
That will probably not be something that changes much.
I have worked for a newspaper for the past nearly 30 years and I am still writing stories just a little past deadline!I used to get really upset about it, but not so much anymore. Why?
Because I know this is me. This is who I am. It might be who you are, as well. Once I embraced the fact that I work slowly, I have come to a better handle on my life. I know I need to leave early for appointments. I know that I have to start things earlier. I know that I am going to be the last one finished eating!
Taking my time I am taking my time working on my articles for my websites. I am not trying to bite off more than I can chew, so to speak. I haven't set a schedule yet for when I will consistently post. I would like to do at least one post per week on each of my websites because I know there is extreme value in that. I just need to figure out what day I want to post each one. I posted one today on one website and I felt so accomplished. But I will keep moving along slowly. You might be moving along slowly, too. I don't see that as a deficit. We have to learn to accept ourselves. There is always room for improvement, but sometimes I think we simply need to accept what is and learn that sometimes being slow is an okay thing!
I hope you all have an excellent weekend!
Karin, the slow one in the back!

I too am slow and accepted it along time ago. I’m okay with that. Good to see you still out there!
Sometimes slow is the best way to go. At times I tend to go too fast and then find myself going back and doing the whole thing over. You may actually progress faster by being slow than by moving at the speed of your thought waves. The tortoise thought so!
Hi Fran,
Great to see you! Taking my time has saved me a lot of redo's... Unfortunately, my editor at the newspaper wants more and faster! I just tell him he will get better, but slower!~
Take care!
Karin
No worries, Karin. Just keep on going at your own pace. Everyone usually goes at their own pace.
Myra ♥️
Hi Myra.
Good to hear from you! I have missed my friends on Wealthy Affiliate. I am glad to have slowly made my way back!
Karin :)
I think that's the problem with folks these days, Karin - nobody takes their time to savor every bite anymore!
Slow and steady always wins in the end.
Isaiah 😁
Yep! I think you nailed it. Everything is so instantaneous that no one takes the time. I see it a lot in my journalism profession, half-baked stories because no one takes the time to get to the truth. Stories riddled with so many errors and holes that I don't know how they hold together long enough to get on the published page.
I hope all is well with you, Isaiah!
Karin :)
Hi Karin, I am slow, too, so don't feel so bad. You're not the only one. I feel like I move ever so slowly. Just do the best you can, even though we are not perfect. We can only do so much with the time we have. I am glad you now recognize it's okay. Keep going at the pace you're going. You, too, have a great weekend. Tell Minnesota hi for me. I do miss my homeland. Especially the lakes.
Brenda, you will have to come and visit Minnesota this summer! It has been such a weird winter here. We had a little snow early in the season and then for months, no snow! Last weekend we had enough snow that they had to call off school for two days!
I have always moved slow. I guess I figure now that at least I am still moving!
Karin :)
I wish I could visit home again. It's hard for me to travel now. I live in an assisted living and use an electric wheelchair. My siblings' houses are not wheelchair accommodated, so I would be unable to go. I suffer from MS, and mobility is just so hard for me these days. At least still say hi to the Lakes for me.
Well, let's make lots of money from our sites and get you here.! Or maybe I can come visit you. Unless you live somewhere that has a lot of big bugs and tornadoes!
Take Care!
Karin
Haha, I live in Oregon. The only bugs here are the stink bugs, but they tend to stay by the two most significant rivers here, The Columbia River and the Willamette River. I am in east Portland, in a suburb of Gresham, Oregon. We rarely have tornados here. Most of the time, it rains here during winter and spring months, Dry and hot summers with forest fires happening all over.
Okay. Cool. If I ever made it out your way I would also have to visit Washington. Being a huge fan of the Twilight Series I would just have to see Forks! Although it is my understanding that much of the films were shot in Oregon and Vancouver! Roadtrip!

I left Minnesota in 2015. I would say in the last four years here every summer we have had destructive fires in COW ( California, Oregon, and Washington). It won't be good this year too because we did not get much snow on the mountains in the Cascades. Hot, dry summers human-caused fires just spread so fast, ruining lots of natural forests. A Deaf couple (friends of mine) from White Earth Reservation lives near Mahnomen (near Shooting Star Casino-north of Detriot Lakes). They were planning to visit Oregon to visit their son, living in Eugene which is about a couple of hours south of where I am. They didn't make it due to huge forest fires smoke and air quality was bad. Many had to evacuate. I hope it won't be too bad like the last four summers. The fires dont go slowly like us it's pretty fast it wiped out many smaller rural towns like Tornados would do.
Hi Jeff. As long as we keep going, that is the biggest part for me—Just keep moving, girl!
Hope you are doing well!
Karin
I totally agree, Karin--especially in this crazy day and age!
Hope you have a Happy Easter!
Jeff 🙏

Slow is ok as long as slow moves forwards.
Procrastination should be seen as a pit stop, not a way of life.
C’mon Karin, let’s go …

Thanks! I seem to go in waves. Sometimes I am full of energy and can do a lot in one day, and other days I would rather sleep! I guess that could be the sign of a greater issue... But onward I go... Slowly but surely onward and upward!
Having to restart my blogs has given me the chance to rebrand not only the sites, but also a rebranding of me, of sorts!
Yes, let's go, Bux!

Sometimes less achieves more Karin. Set a plan for the day that can be achieved and just do that. Repeat the next day until you unblock your log jam.
Just trying to help.

Thank you. I appreciate it! :) Sometimes I need that swift kick in the rear to motivate me!
Karin ;)
Don’t we all. 🌹
