I started writing this post over a year ago. The message above from "The Universe" inspired me at that time.
But then, life got in the way.
Life seems to have a funny way of doing that. It sneaks up on you when you aren't paying attention and can slam you back into reality like a test car dummy in a driving course.
A year ago seems so far away now and honestly I don't remember exactly which "tragedy" it was that made me quit writing this post, quit doing anything with my businesses and focus on nothing in particular.
It might have been a big dose of burnout, but like I said, I really do not remember.
Do you know what matters?
That I found this beginning of a post with a thought from the universe that was just the thing that I needed to remember today: That living the life of my dreams is up to me.
What does that mean?Well, for one, it means start spending more time on my business. I figure that in order to make it, I need to spend at least two hours a day creating good quality content for the two sites that I have chosen to focus on at this time.
That means spending less time doing things that don't clear the path to the life of my dreams. The life of my dreams does NOT include 4 hours a day of playing video games! (At least not every day!)
It also means having a time of focus. During the school year, that is mornings after the dear granddaughter goes to school. During the summer...I'll have to figure when that will be.
I love my granddaughter so much, but it seems whenever I sit down at the kitchen table to begin working on a post, she wants to show me everything that she has done in the last six months!
It's hard to say "no" to her because she has been through a lot, too. It is something I will have to figure out because she is one of the reasons I am attempting to turn a profit doing these blogs.
I guess the ultimate marriage of blog and gaming would be a gaming website. Too bad that I find writing about games boring!

You are making precious memories with your granddaughter. I know how it feels to be pulled away from writing your blog, you end up forgetting the thought. Maybe after she is asleep you could carve out some time for yourself.
Yes, and as she is getting older (she's 11 now) she wants to share less and less UNLESS I am working on the websites! But I don't want to miss anything in her life, so I give her my attention!
I am writing this after she has gone to bed. In the morning will be my next post for my website.

That is a beautiful post...thank you. I have two businesses, an Etsy store and a window washing business and it took me years to get to a point where I truly focused on them. It has taken a lot of praying a lot of gritting my teeth when business was poor and this Pandemic didn't help.

I must admit, it is A LOT easier than my first....(and a lot less questions to Kyle too).

Yeah. I get a daily e-mail from Notes from the Universe. Sometimes they are "out there" things (it is the Universe after all)! But other times they are grounded and put the reader in the driver's seat.
