Karin's Top Five Secret Ways to Make Your Dreams Come True
The top image is my granddaughter's shirt she wore the other day. It's kind of hard to read, but it says, "Believe in your Dreams." What was interesting that I also noticed after I took the photo was the word "Hope" on our refrigerator, along with hundreds of little notes and drawings that my granddaughter does!
We got this"hope" with the pink ribbon in remembering our friend who is a breast cancer survivor. But I believe in hope in all situations! If you've read my posts, you know that I am a hopeful person.
But this post is my top five secret ways to make your dreams come true, so onward!
1. Be Brave
Are you familiar with the song "Brave" by Sara Bareilles? If not, I truly recommend that you listen to it. Or better yet, watch the video on YouTube! (Make sure to grab the official video of Sara and friends dancing!)
Here is one of the verses:
Everybody's been there, everybody's been stared down
By the enemy
Fallen for the fear and done some disappearing
Bow down to the mighty
Don't run, stop holding your tongue
Maybe there's a way out of the cage where you live
Maybe one of these days you can let the light in
Show me how big your brave is.
2. Never Give Up
There are all times when we feel like giving up. Yesterday, when I saw that my blood sugar was 315 for no apparent reason, I felt so discouraged. I felt like giving up. I've been doing everything right. Watching my carb intake, exercising... but I was 315 and I felt sick! Sick and tired by being a diabetic. Sick and tired of watching and recording every morsel of food that went into my mouth.
As I eyed the Easter candy my granddaughter was enjoying, I momentarily thought I should go get some myself and just forget about trying to beat diabetes.
But the feeling went away I am happy to say.
There are going to be a lot of times when things don't work with our lives or our businesses. We can't control everything. The only thing we can do is never give up!
I shared this poem with a fellow WA member yesterday when he was feeling very discouraged, burned out and wanting to give up. It is kind of long and many of you may be familiar with it, but it is worth the read.
Don't You Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
3. Have Unlimited Enthusiasm
There is a reason that we pick niches that we are passionate about. That reason is easily summed up in this quote by Charles Schwab:
People can succeed at almost anything for which they have unlimited enthusiasm.
Unlimited enthusiam or passion can go a very long way. It can get your through some difficult times and keep you going on the way to reach your dream(s)!
I can't tell you how to get unlimited enthusiasm, but I can tell you that if you are passionate about your niche, you will be able to always find something to write about!
4. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
Rule #1: Don't sweat the small stuff.
Rule #2: It's all small stuff.
~Dr. Michael Mantell
Enough said...
5. Be Patient With Yourself and the Process
The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg...not by smashing it. ~Arnold Glasow
It isn't the easiest thing to be patient. In our world of "NOW" we want everything to happen immediately. Things like building a business don't happen that way. You might get a few sales or bits of good news now and then, but to reach your dreams, you will need patience!
Patience is a hard one for me. I am learning it, but I am someone who doesn't want to wait. I want it now! I don't want to go through the process of learning patience. I want to be patient RIGHT NOW!
To reach my goals, I know that I have to be patient or I will begin to sweat the small stuff.

Hi Karin.
I especially like: "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff".
Life. It's complicated.
Another aphorism I like is: "If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves."

Regards,
Thanks for the thoughts and the laugh at life! If it weren't for laughter and humor, I would find this life pretty though to deal with.

"I would find this life pretty though to deal with"
Damn straight!
Had a bit of a rant yesterday in my latest post, and reflecting on it later, realised that I had failed to keep a smile on my face. It's something to do with the autonomous system. Smiling keeps you good humoured. Good humour makes you smile. The secret is then, smile, and be good humoured.
Sometimes though, I forget to smile. lolz
A great post, Karin. I particularly relate to 'Have Unlimited Enthusiasm'. This is extremely important with respect to constant success.
Thanks :)
It sure is an important part. If it'a important to me, I figured it probably is for others, too.
Have a great day!
Best wishes,

Gratitude is the most important for us. Sometimes we don't realize all the wonderful people and things in our lives.
Thanks, Karin and enjoy a wonderful weekend.
