I had an epiphany
I had an epiphany today. For those who may not know, an epiphany is "a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience." (According to dictionary.com).
I realized that I have been neglecting my websites because I need to go through the training again. It's been nearly a year since I last went through it and as much as I would love to say I have perfect recall on everything I learned, that would be a lie.
So, I have decided to go through the Online Entrepreneur Certification training again. I want to enhance what I have learned by reviewing it and going through the steps again.
I am again looking forward to the training and the learning that will be taking place. With my office nearly completed, I am really looking forward to this. I am also looking forward to the discipline that it instills as the requirements of writing posts is well laid out.
I am relishing the step by step approach and know that this will help me reach my goals.
Do I need to redo the entire OEC?
Obviously, there are some things that I may not have to do again, but there are several that I really need to refocus on!
That is one thing that I really love about Wealthy Affiliate, you can always go back and refresh your learning.
The point of this post is that you don't have to be afraid to review the lessons no matter how long you've been with WA. You don't have to feel like you are stupid if you need to review things.
I'm really excited to begin this journey—again!
Best wishes,
Karin 😁

HI, Karin. Like you, I am reviewing the training. It has been waaay too long since I have been working on my training or website, and I am very rusty.
I'm excited about reviewing the training and setting up my second website as I go along.
I still need to do a lot of writing for my planned content on the first one, but I might as well get started on my second one as I go through the steps again.
At first I was just going to watch the videos to review, but I think I'll learn more and get the second one going at the same time if I do it that way.
Carol
I hear you, Carol.
How did you go about planning your content for your first site? I am what they refer to as a "panster"—I write from the seat of my pants... or something like that. I would like to be more of a "planner."
What has worked for you?
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
When I did the lesson where you write a post about your progress and future plans (don't remember which lesson off the top of my head) I outlined what I wanted to achieve with my website. I can go back and find the post and send you a link if you like. You will see my outline of what I have planned. It might give you an idea for organizing your thoughts.
Also, when I write a post, I work from an outline. I write the basic ideas (for example, definition or description, history, description of the products, famous people who use the product, and conclusion, etc.) I haven't learned how to use affiliate links yet, but will be going back to each of my descriptions of products and adding the links and a call to action.
Since all of my posts are a year old, I'm hoping that when I revise them this way that the publication date will be updated. Do you know if that is the case, or am I stuck with "old looking" posts?
Carol
Here is the link to the post that I think will show you how I organize a post. I didn't write out the specific outline just showed you an example of the way I organize a post, but will go back and do that if you think it would be helpful. I sort of follow the same "skeleton outline" for each post I write, with variations of course, based on the content. One Step At A Time-My Progress Thus Far Hope this helps.
Carol
Hey, Karin, you just gave me an idea. I'm going to write a post on how I organize an article and examples of different types of outlines. Thanks! I'm excited about getting back to writing, and now I know the topic of my next post....gonna get started now while I'm still pumped about writing and the idea!!
Thanx.
Carol
Reviewing the training is something I'm about to do. I believe it's time well spent as Kyle updates the content as appropriate.
Great advice, Karin :)
Thanks, Valerie!
So much to know... a good review will, with hope, move along my work on my second site, too.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
What a great idea Karin. I think it's wise to go over the training several times. After we humans ( and especially us older ones) do tend to be a bit forgetful. All the best. Jim
You got that right, Jim. The older I get, the more I forget. Too many things in the old brain to remember!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
As an added plus to that i have noticed since april a lot of stuff as had updates..when u go to a lesson it will tell u when last updated
Awesome, Cathy! I didn't realize that the lessons had a last updated date. I will have to be more cognizant of that when I review them to make sure I study the updated ones more thoroughly!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
yes indeed you are correct, I go back and review things at least once a month, So much to take in you lose focus sometime of what you have learned. May you have a most wonderful day.
I am never opposed to reviewing especially when the material is good!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
I agree Karin, with all the training right at our fingertips, it becomes necessary to revisit training from time to time.
Thanks for sharing!
Cal
Hi Cal!

Right on point, Karin.
We never quit learning. And most of the OEC has been updated, so it will be like new ground. I've noticed this when I go back to find out something I obviously missed.
I haven't finished all of OEC the first time and I have to go back and pick up where I left off. To succeed, we have to always go back and pick up something that escaped us the first time. It's those "Aha!" moments we need to pick up.
I have learned a lot from SAC, but it has slowed me down , too because I needed the info from those lessons I hadn't finished. So basically I'm behind where I should be, and I have to pick up and start back where I was. All those cats and dogs miss me and I miss them. I also need to keep up with my busy moms, so I have a lot of reorganizing to do.
You are a very busy lady! You inspire me, Barb! Keep on, keeping on!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
