Can we just decide to get along?
The world is filled with human beings who come in all different sizes and shapes and physical features. In addition there is so much variety in beliefs, tastes, goals, desires and dreams. Our culture plays a major part in determining our values and who we show up as, in the world.
If we understand this and respect the right of people to choose for themselves, why then is there so much conflict ? It happens at many levels and in many situations, domestic and international. Constitutions and agreements are designed to take care of conflicts and yet resolution always seem to be far away.
What value is there in going to war, and putting lives at risk when we could negotiate, sit at a conference table and, patiently, work out a compromise. We can agree or we can agree to disagree.
The problem lies in one side insisting on having their own way, whatever the price. Intellectually, they understand the power of negotiation but their ego leads them to take the hard line everytime.
Are we happy when we are the only ones happy ?
Your thoughts ?

Live and let live. People have different cultures, religion and languages. We must get on to survive.

That is definitely a deep question...
In all actuality, I think not. The only one happy maybe that way for a short time...sooner or later they have to realize that their happiness is making others miserable.
You make a valid point...the only true way to happiness is to first seek happiness for others and seeing that genuinely makes you happy.
The only thing is if the person is a selfish person, they won't see it that way.
Great post!
Good post Joy.
If more people celebrated the diversity of life there wouldn't be so much conflict.
It is very sad but some people are very blinkered and cannot or will not, change.
All we can do is show its possible to be happy and ways that they too can be the same. Not everyone can take this on board but some do and awaken to possibilities of a better life.
Yes I believe we are happy when we are the only ones happy. Happiness is a choice even when times are hard.
We have to look within ourselves and determine what makes us happy. If we look to see if someone else is happy first then we will never find inner peace.
Just my thoughts.

I know everyone doesn't believe in God, but because of sin, disagreements and wars will continue to exist.
Yes. Man needs that inner change
