This is why you fail.

I have been a member of WA and building a business online since 2013 and there is a common theme as to why people fail in this game... They quit!

They give up...

Many don't even start...

They expect quick results...

They think they are going to be overnight millionaires and think it's a scam when they aren't rich by the weekend!

They aren't willing to put in the work to learn new skills, change their mindset and lift their game...

I have known people that have succeeded in a short amount of time...

I even witnessed someone first-hand make a million dollars in 5 months...

But I also know he put in many years of hard work before things took off!

Forget being a millionaire for a second, think about this...

People don't have the patience to build a business for 3 years, but have to patience to go to work for 40 years...

So what if it took you three years to earn enough income to leave your job?

5 years?

10 years?

20?

Would it still be worth it?

My answer is YES!!!

Most people don't last 5 months...

In fact, most people don't even try and give themselves a chance at all...

BE different...

BE UNSTOPPABLE...

BE a Financial Freedom Warrior...

DO IT!

DO SOMETHING!

DON'T GIVE UP!

DON'T QUIT!

NO EXCUSES!

I BELIEVE IN YOU!

To OUR FREEDOM...

John thanks for this and you are so right.

You see people and suddenly they are making heaps of money or millionaires quickly. It looks like overnight success. But it isn't. They would have worked years of struggle to get to that point.

You do the work - you get the pay.
Simple as that.

Overnight success only comes from the lottery.

Absolutely Sharon!
Overnight success only happens after many years of yard work! Thanks :-)

Thanks very much for this Johh and I totally agree with you that people tend to give up very quickly without giving things a chance. I have been here over a year now and have never made any real serious money and I have had my ups and downs but I have thoroughly enjoyed what I have done and what I have managed to achieve. I have 3 websites, one I have just finished today for Black Friday, I have had 2 referrals, one free and one who went premium. If you had said to me last year at this time I would have said you were crazy to think this would happen.

It takes time to get established at things and we all have to persevere and keep going.

Have a good weekend. xxx

It's all building up momentum Cheryl!
Keep going :-)

You're right John, it certainly is. Thank you I will do. xxx

Awesome Cheryl :-)

Even though I've yet to make any money with my sites, I still believe in the process. I'm still working at it and hoping to find the formula that will make my sites work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I try to do and take all suggestions. Thanks for the encouragement. :)

It's not so much doing anything wrong Judy, it's just part of the process! Keep at it and you will get there :-)

Good afternoon John,

My 2 websites exist so I can talk about things I am interested in and of which I think they might be of interest to other people too.
I do not concentrate on selling but am, of course, not adverse in earning some money. I plan to stick around for quite a bit still, Taurus women do not give up so easily. Please have a look at my last WA post.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Will do Taetske! Thanks :-)

John,

This is such an inspirational post. I am just starting out my day with a cupa, so it is a good way to start off. Today is the last day of my best friend at work who is retiring to Wyoming. That's a long way from Kansas City, so I was a little down. You put me in a much better frame of mind.

Debra.

Glad to help Debra :-)

There’s the right way and there’s the lazy way. Most of us grow up doing things the lazy way. It takes a whole new mindset to persevere and succeed in growing a business. Some of us can make the change, some can’t. How big is your “want to?”

So true Grant! Thanks :-)

You're exactly right, because when you give up you truly fail. Here's another thing about why people fail. I recently read something that makes so much sense about making money, but a lot of people don't understand or have the right mindset and that's myself included. All you have to do to make money for a business is provide something of value that people are willing to exchange money for. That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

The way to do that is to solve people's problems. What that also means is that you'll also have to place your own problems on the backburner because other people don't care about your problems and want theirs taken care of first and foremost.

If you change your mindset to helping others solve their problems and make it your mission in life to do so, you''ll be on the right track or path to start your journey of financial freedom.

It can be hard endeavor to get to that mindset because we're so focused on our own problems when we start up our own business and so then many people start adding things and content on a website of what they THINK people want to hear or purchase and not what they ACTUALLY are looking for. This is why other members here say it is important to know your audience in your niche because if you can figure out what their biggest problems are and how you can help them solve those problems and genuinely care about solving their problems, you're going to make the kind of money you've dreamed of because those people know that what you provide is VALUE and are willing to trust you and hand over money to you.

My biggest problem right now is debt and how I'm going to properly pay my bills and have money left after paying those bills. I'm now understanding that this is also being such a hindrance to me because it's preventing me from moving forward by paralyzing me with fear. Fear that my content isn't good enough, fear that I'll never make enough money to get out of debt, fear that I'll never get away from my day job, fear that no matter what I'll try, it just won't work and so then it prevents me from moving forward.

I've got to change that mindset and realize taking action is better than standing still, but also understand that there are so many people out there with so many different kinds of problems that there is DEFINITELY some way I can help those people.

Great insights Brian!
Totally agree and I know exactly what you are talking about! Thanks :-)

Great post John! In my experience, there are two things that need to be kept in mind to become and to remain successful: "Little things become big things." and "Everything works a little bit."

With the first statement, "Little things become big things.", we can consider that most people want to hit it "BIG" so they try to be the "MOST" or "BEST" at what they do, but, because they don't know how to be the "most" or "best", they don't even get started.

The path to success is to follow the lessons taught here at WA and do a little each day. Pretty soon, much sooner than if you don't get started at all, you will have a product that is working to earn you a steady income.

As for the second statement, "Everything works a little bit.", I have found that many people think that, once they create a website, they won't have to do any more work. One method people use is to create a website and then expect it to continuously "catch flies" for them. (get it? Web . . . catch flies . . . )The truth is that, just as a spider builds and rebuilds their web each day, we must work on our website a little every day for it to capture customers and continue to provide a steady income for us.

The main problem that I have had with my own website was that I didn't control it myself. I hired someone to manage it for me and trusted them to keep it current and viable. I didn't even look at the site myself as I handed out my business cards and directed potential clients to my site. One day it dawned on me that I wasn't hearing back from those people that I directed to the site, so I went to see why. Well . . . the phone number and address listed on the site was from a state I had moved from four years ago for starters. Also, each year, I would run several promotions offering classes . . . all of the promotions were still listed on the site for the past 4 years! To top it all off, unless I put my exact web address in the search bar for Google, my site never showed up even in the top 10 pages!!

Lesson learned? Take control of your business yourself!!

I believe that WA is the greatest place for people who desire to have a successful online business to learn how to build, operate, and manage their own website. The lessons taught and the community support are invaluable!!

Sorry for such a long reply. Funny how much space written words can take that would have taken only seconds to say.

Have a great holiday and keep posting!!

Peace,
William

Love it William, and I totally agree! Thanks :-)

I've been inactive for over a year due to family illness but I have kept my WA account active and my sites alive because I totally intend to return because I recognize and understand the power of this system. So many people take this too lightly and give up before they've even started, it's near impossible to make a business successful in a few months, sure there are rare cases but unlikely. Just knuckle down, do the work and your time will come :)

Love your attitude Jay! Never give up. :-)

Thanks for the encouragement. You make a good point about people not even trying in the first place. I was just thinking the other day how people don't want to build a business because it's not easy.

Getting a job is supposed to be the 'easy' way but is it really easy to go to work every day to a dead-end job they hate? I think that energy is better spent on a business that even if it is as stressful at the end of the day you will enjoy the fruits of your labor instead of providing someone else's. tfs,
Marlinda

Very true Marlinda! Thanks :-)
