Someone posted a question about 3 years ago and it is about Wealthy Affiliate ebook here:
And Carson's answer as follows :
" ..... That said, giving away an e-book is pointless when you can send people directly to Wealthy Affiliate and they can gain access to the content and get started for free.
Even if you were to give something else away, it would not be as optimal in your process as giving people access to Wealthy Affiliate.
A better incentive would be to give away something within Wealthy Affiliate after the user takes action and joins the starter membership.
You could take the approach that if people JOIN Wealthy Affiliate as a starter member (for free), you will give them something. To deliver this "something", you could add it to your Referral Welcome message.

Here's the Flow:
1 - On your website you say "Join my mailing list and I'll give you free access to Wealthy Affiliate + My Special Bonus"
2 - The "Thank you page" of your mailing list could be a custom sign-up campaign which loads your custom sign-up form at WA. People are redirected here after joining your mailing list ... "
What I would like to know is, where is the "My Special Bonus" mentioned here which we can give to anyone who joins the WA starter membership. :)
I think I must have missed this because sometimes I am quite a "blur" lol ... So, anyone knows what is this special bonus? Carson?

Many people that come into this field can be overwhelmed. Most of this is due to the mindset of "overnight riches." Many need motivation to create the proper work ethic that need to accompany the want and desire to become an Affiliate Marketer. Maybe that could be the free incentive.

Jewel. My take on this is that the special bonus you offer would be an e-book or something else of your own as a thank you for taking action on your referral.

Hi Jewel. I think giving e-books is a personal preference, no right or wrong in my eyes. I will of course take due note of Carson's opinion but e-books have worked for me in the past when I was an Amazon seller. My product was a garden sprayer and I gave away an e-book on "building a beautiful greenhouse" which went down well in the US because I don't think it is a common practice there.

I think "My Special Bonus" Carson meant anything which you personally would give to your referral, like personalised training etc.
Hi Jewel, I thought that meant "your own"? I think I got a special bonus when I joined via Nathaniell, which was something he had created...
I'm pretty sure the special bonus is of your choosing from within Wealthy Affiliate. Everything has an affiliate link so you pick a training or post or whatever that fits best with how you present WA.

There are a lot of people who just want something for free. And if they have that mindset at the beginning, they will never appreciate the value of Wealthy Affiliate. Something of high quality is worth the price. And also, by paying a monthly fee, it shows commitment.
If you are looking for people to join under you in WA, you don't want people who will just dip their toe in the water, you want people who are willing to dive in and learn to swim. And who are willing to pay for the lessons.
Looking for people who will be committed, may seem more of a challenge, but we will be richly awarded for it.
Hey MyraBeth, wow, I love yr answers, how true it is, there are certainly a lot of people looking for free stuff. So, in a way, we shouldn't "spoil" them, you are right, if they can't see the "value" of Wealthy Affiliate, most likely they are not willing to show commitment!! So, we do actually need "committed" people who is willing to put in the hard work to make this online business work, right? Thanks so much, I appreciate a lot!! :))
