Don't Ever Give Up
I Gave Up
I had basically given up after the death of my mother-in-law. I did not realize the impact her death had on me. I was trying to be supportive of my wife and lost sight of my goals.
I told myself everyday that I would work on my websites and check my emails. This worked for all of one week. I continued to check my emails but that soon dwindled to nothing. I found myself losing all hope and giving up on my goals.
It seemed that nothing I did could get me motivated to resume my work. I just stopped altogether. I had the courage to watch Jay on Friday night and realized what I had done to myself, my audience, and my family. I needed to change.
My WebsiteJust on a whim, I looked at my website on Google Search Console. Boy was I surprised.
My ranking in Google had surged significantly since I last viewed it in early February. I had gone up more than 7 points. I was curious as to how many pages were on page one. Again, I was surprised.
I actually had more than the 4 shown but I could not get them all on the screen. I have a total of 7 posts on page 1 and 13 on page 2. I am sure that if I had continued with my work the way I should have even more would be on page 1.
Unexpected SurpriseI had one last surprise that came from a phishing email. I had someone trying to get my data through impersonating PayPal. This led me to contact PayPal to report this. As I was finishing with PayPal, I noticed that I had a commission of $67.90 waiting for me to deposit. This came from one of the affiliate links on my website. I am indeed thankful for this surprise.
DON'T EVER GIVE UP
We all have to overcome obstacles in our lives, some more than others. Do not let yourself be distracted by shiny objects, other's opinion, or time.
We have to overcome ALL the obstacles in our lives. It is not always easy but with perseverance it can be done. My biggest obstacle was myself and lack of faith in myself.
I am continuing to work on what matters to me and let the rest take a back seat. I have spent too many hours, days, months, and years working to become successful. I have learned that even in the worst of times, you can move forward. It may be one step but it is a step forward. Keep faith in yourself and find ways to motivate yourself to take that next step and then the next. Before you know it you have taken so many steps that you can visualize your goals more clearly. You now know what you have to do to make those goals a reality.
Thanks for reading. Don't forget to like and share.

For sure Jerry, some life events can totally curb our esteem and directions.
Sorry for the loss of your mother, may she rest in peace. I relate when I lost my mum, it is a hard one.
"Don't give up" is a true statement of hope for all of us!
Kind regards
Erica
Erica,
Thanks for your support. We are all affected in different ways. I was not prepared for the emotions I felt with her death. I have learned that no matter what you have to deal with it and move on. Don't forget but remember and treasure.
Jerry
No one can determine our emotional state sometimes, especially when life gets in the way.
The real significant message your post carried is anyone would have his “down moment “, and as long as when you recover from it, to get back from where you left off is what’s important.
We can’t be all positive all the time. We have our highs and lows.
Your nice surprise is what kept you jumpstarted!
Inspiring share Jerry! Thank you!
Cheers,

Maria,
I appreciate your kind words. It is true that the surprises I have played a big role in getting the engine to move from idle to moving smoothly again. We all need to find ways to overcome the obstacles in our lives.
Jerry
Harold,
If we let adversity and difficulties take the driver's seat, we will never be in control. That is what I did for 4 months, but no longer. I prefer to be the one in charge of my destiny.
Jerry
You are right. If we give up on our dreams then we will always say "If I had". This will not lead us to our goals but push us further from them. Knowing how to overcome obstacles, plan for the future, and keep a positive mindset are all elements of finding the road to success.
Jerry
Thanks for sharing this. We all need to get out of our own way sometime. Regardless of the situation, we need to persevere.
Jim
Thanks for your support. You are exactly right, at times we have to leave our egos outside.
Jerry
We can be our biggest hurdle indeed. Glad you were able to overcome it. Thanks for sharing your story, Jerry.

Wow, awesome. I had not realized you experienced this. Sharing your personal story with us teaches that no matter what we need to be consistent and persistent. As you said you ended up being surprised after some time off. hope if you get more consistent you will see your affiliate renvue increase. If it wasn't for the surprise you would have quit and not know. Don't give up is the best word choice of the day.
Thanks Brenda. I have been doing this for a while now and was starting to get discouraged, but these surprises have shown me I am more determined than ever.

Hi Jerry,
I was sorry to hear that you had given up on your goals after the loss of your mother-in-law. It's understandable that it would have such an impact on you and your motivation.
But I'm so glad to hear that you've had a change of heart and decided to pick up where you left off. And what a surprise to find that your website had surged in Google ranking and that you had a commission waiting for you from one of your affiliate links! Those are definitely positive signs that you're on the right track.
It's true that we all face obstacles in life, but it's important not to let them defeat us. Your story is a great reminder that we need to keep the faith in ourselves and our abilities, and find ways to motivate ourselves to keep moving forward. Even if it's just one step at a time, progress is progress.
Thanks for sharing your story, Jerry. It's an inspiration to others who may be facing their own challenges. I'm looking forward to seeing where your determination and hard work take you next.
All the best,
Julia
Julia,
Thanks for understanding my struggles. I have faced adversity before. I had 1 1/2 years of not being able to type or even brush my teeth because of an illness. I managed to return to my passion, albeit slowly. I will overcome this as well. I CAN'T give up, I have come too far.
