The Journey
It took a while but I found a definition of journey that represents what we all are going through here at WA. Most definitions referred to a physical trip from point A to point B. Here's an alternative definition from Webster's Online Dictionary:
"A passage through life, or a passage through any significant experience, or from one state to another"
The way I like to envision this passage is a straight line starting at birth and ending at death. This is your timeline. Parallel lines above the timeline represent successes during your life. The length of each line would represent the amount of time you enjoyed the success. Some examples from my life would be lines for good health, education, employment (my own business), marriage, family, WA, ...to be continued. Parallel lines below your timeline represent failures during your life. The length of each line would represent the amount of time you suffered through your failures. Some examples from my life would be lines for poor health, unemployment, ...- I want to keep the list of failures shorter than 2500 words and you will fall asleep before finishing reading. The way I see it is when you connect all the parallel lines above your timeline and compare this length to the connected lines below your timeline, hopefully your successes outweigh your failures. Questions, comments? Enjoy.

You've been through a long and beautiful journey, with varied experiences.
I wish you all the best for the future, Jeff.
If you can effectively splice in all the side trails of the training, you'll build a superhighway!
That's a beautiful definition of the word journey.
Hmmm...interesting analogy you used Jeff; I would think that the lines above would intersect the lines below, at various times in our lives, or would you say that the lines stay exactly where they are, either above or below the timeline.
I thought about several different models to represent the life choices we make and selected the line approach due to its simplicity to imagine.
