Drowning in the shallow end
Day in and day out we log in, we check emails, respond to blogs, and answer questions. We dedicate time and energy into our websites and seek to improve our names reputation on the internet.
Today, as I was doing those things, I hear an odd conversation taking place between my kids.
My son: All you have to do is stand up.
My Angel: That's a dumb answer.
My older princess: I don't believe you know the meaning of dumb. What you should say is that's a stupid answer.
My youngest: hey guys what's the answer
My son: I told you just stand up
Very angry girls: you can't stand up you're drowning
My son: yea, in the shallow end
At this point snickering. I've realized they're playing a logic problem game I'd taught them. This specific question gives a lot of fluffy information to distract from the obvious answer. My son was correct. I stepped in and explained the reasoning. My daughter's were baffled that they missed the concept completely. While the slacker in school answered the question with no second thoughts or trivial mathematical equation.
Moral of the story....
When you aren't seeing am answer simply stand up take in a breath and look at the problem differently.
