About Jastewart

Hello, I'm Julie.

I'm 58, was made redundant and seem to be unemployable now. I'm on a low pension until I reach 66. Hence my desire to find work on the internet. I'm very internet savvy having used it as a language teacher and writer for many years. I have had websites before - but only to share my writing with friends. I'm a Brit who lives in France. My companion is retired and that is another reason I want to work from home - to spend more time with him. My mother tongue is British English and I'm English/French bilingual.

I'm a biker ..... we used to have a bike each, but I had to sell mine. We share a Yamaha 1300 FJR which moves at a fair pace. We go out every Sunday morning with a group of which I am the youngest member. The oldest is 84. We also go out, just the two of us and just because we love it!

I write - I've submitted a screenplay to the BBC and I'm working on 2 novels and various short stories and poems.

Champagne features large in our lives. Dany worked at Moët & Chandon for 42 years, so we get it for beer prices! Under the streets of the town where we live, in cool caves lined with natural chalk, lie over 200,000 bottles of the bubbly.

Socks!!! I've just learned to knit socks - everybody I love got a pair for Christmas.

My 4 non-financial goals (as per Course 1, Lesson 2) :

1. Keep on loving and being loved.
2. Smile at at least one stranger every day.
3. Smile at every body else every day.
4. Keep up with my hula-hooping every day (a minimum of 200 "hoops" in each direction).

Thank you Valerie - I wish you success too, how on earth do you manage to keep four sites going? I can only manage one...
Reply
ValerieJoy Premium
Hi again Julie. I don't recommend having four sites. I don't have enough time to look after all of them. It is a long story how I came to have those sites but to keep it short, I followed different programs and each site was the result of a new program. I have had others that I've deleted. The good thing is that I found WA and I won't be following any other programs. WA is the answer to learning all we need to know about affiliate marketing. I am planning on developing the 4 sites as I see potential in each one.
Reply
jastewart Premium
Ah! That explains it ... I imagined you working 30 hours a day 9 days a week! Either that or that you were some kind of super-multi-tasking dynamo.

I have niche ideas for other sites but don't even think I could successfully manage my one niche site and develop a WA affiliate site.

I'm going to remain focused on one site and I wish you all the best with your four.

Hi Helen, thanks for the follow-back. Yes, those wine cellars are quite something. In the war they were headquarters for the Germans and later for the Resistance. Just after the war a car rally drove through them - that was before they were restocked again!

"Mahalo" for the Follow --

"Unemployable"... I can relate; I am 52, applied for the same state gov't. job as my 28 year old niece -- she got the job.

I have a college degree, she does not --

I have job experience, she's been a stay-at-home single mom of (3), living off of welfare for the past 10+ years...

Go figure.

Oh well... gotta keep on keeping on... and have a glass of bubbly while I'm at it --

Thank you for taking a look at my site. It is still thin on information, I feel. But it's quite a newborn site. My mission is to add lots more posts and articles and reviews by the end of February - THEN start approaching affiliate networks.

Scooters are very stylish for the man/woman about town who doesn't need a car or a motorbike. I also like that your site (in part) looks at the over-50s - that kind of ties in with my theme too (albeit we're a little older). I'll bookmark your site and link to any articles that my folks might like for when they get down off their machines and need to smarten up for the champagne or beer etc ....

You've already got a lot of information in your site and I think it's impressive, but it sounds like a good plan Julie.

Robert
Reply
jastewart Premium
From my ex. Unfortunately his family are/were the Baron Stewarts of Ramelton and Lords Mountjoy in Donegal - that is, English land thieves ennobled in the 17th Century. He didn't buy into it - neither did I (I refused to be an "Honorable" !!) Crested paper, clan tartan, titles awarded by James I and VI = exploitation of the poor.

I'm a bit of a socialist and my ex is the black sheep of his family.

Unfortunately, his brother did and my daughter is now in Debrett's and Burke's breeding manuals (for want of another word) without our permission. Happily, she also has not bought into it.

If / when she marries and if she changes her name on marriage, I will revert to my maiden name. I only keep it to be one with her.

The best thing is that the family tree goes back to 1066 with an ancestor who went to England from France with William the Conqueror - and my daughter and I are now both settled in France.

AND, once when we visited the Bayeaux tapestry she found her ancestor on the tapestry - and that section of the tapestry was reproduced on a postcard. That was a great find for her.
Reply
Robert-A Premium
Its nice to have a wee bit of history Julie even if some of the ancestors where a wee bit 'Iffy' lol.
Our family goes back to when we didn't have kings in Scotland and we are none the worse for that.
I don't know about the Irish side of my family though.
I suppose they came over here or we went over there and shall we say intermingled lol.
Anyway seems like you have fallen on your feet over there in France so enjoy it while you can and don't go digging up the street to get at the bubbly lol.
I'm a Scot through and through but I just do not like the taste of whisky.
I could fair go a nice cognac though lol.
Now I suppose I had better get of this damn machine and chill in front of the telly for a wee while before bed.
Enjoy whats left of your evening.

I would like to follow you. I looked at your profile and visited your website. Nice beginning but with your talents, you really have a lot to offer. Being internet savvy and able to write goes a long way. I was especially intrigued by your screenplay writing abilities. I looked it up on my jaaxy account and there is a ton of ideas for you there but I found "how to write screenplay" has average of 5158 searches of which 877 would visit your site there is 125 other sites that use that same search phrase and you have 89% chance of getting you site listed on 1st page if you use it. Oh yes and it is available as .net & .org Notice it's "how to write screenplay" with no "a" between write and screenplay. How to write A screenplay is far more competitive and has no domains available. If you don't have a jaaxy account yet, I'm not trying to sell you one but if you ever do get one would you please go through my affiliate link? I could use the commission more than KYLE or Carson LOL
be blessed and be a blessing,
jd

There is a famous quote from Mark Twain:

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

And that just means - do your hardest task first or at least as soon as you can in the morning. If you do this then the rest of your day is easy from there!

ANYWAY…

Hi Julie!

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate! You have come to the right place to get a viable online marketing program in place! This is the best place you could have landed to do this, and I say this from my own attempts with other places that said they could offer what I needed, but did not!

It sounds like you have built yourself a nice life in France and I can relate to living outside the place you grew up, I have been doing so since the age of 17! So best of luck here and ask questions if you have any, there are a lot of experienced folks here that will jumo in to help!

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate Julie!

Nathaniell here - you probably remember me from my site One More Cup of Coffee. I'm glad to see you've signed up and are ready to get started building your online business.

Right now, there are just two things you need to know.

1) Those who ask questions interact with the community are far more likely to learn faster and meet their goals. The support here at WA is the best in the internet marketing industry...please take advantage of it.

2) You can get started learning how to make money by doing your Level 1 Certification Course. Click on the green "Get Started Here" button or just click this link And don't forget that you can also access me for 1-on-1 support by leaving a message on my profile https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/nathaniell or by responding directly to this message.

There are a ton of other features you have access to right now, but they are explained in your main training linked above. Your #1 job right now is to get started on the first lesson.

PS. Did you know that you'll already have your website built by lesson 4? Crazy, I know!

★ ★ ★ Access Your Bonuses! ★ ★ ★

I also wanted to let you know that if you join the premium membership in this 7 day window you'll get a TON of awesome stuff from me.

First off, you'll get a 59% discount ($19.95 for 1 month) on your membership. Twenty bucks for you first month of WA is an absolute steal.

☆ ☆ Bonus #1: Live Case Study 2 Part Webinar Series

Get access to a 2-Part-Series Live Case Study webinar. It's video series where a professional internet marketer creates a complete 'niche website'. All steps are included and thoroughly explained, including research, rank, content creation and monetization. Total length of the videos is 2+ hours

This will give you a broad overview of the type of site you will create on Wealthy Affiliate. I think it's always a good idea to know the direction you are headed before you start your journey.

☆ ☆ Bonus #2: Top 5 Newbie Mistakes And How To Fix Them

This includes some simple design tips, and answers to the most frequently asked questions by new WA members. This resource will help you bypass these common errors and get your affiliate website ready for making money.
