How do You Use Pages vs Posts?

My site is only a week old - but I have been arranging my menus with a view to te content I plan to write.

I was puzzled for a couple of days about how or when to use Pages OR Posts.

In the end I decided to use Posts - as they are published on my blog - as a way to announce new Pages. Posts will be a sort of précis of what a new Page contains.

Pages will contain my quality content - that is longer articles full of information.

Both Posts and Pages will be written with key words in mind.

How do you use your Posts and Pages?

What do you think of the way I use them?

Pages are for evergreen content, posts are more personal views. There is a lot of info here just search in the tab above.

Thank you Jovo - I was aware of the nature of the two types of content (evergreen and personal) - just not how to make best use of them. What I'm doing seems to be working ..... great to meet you, BTW, I'm going over to your profile page now.

hello Julie, I had a look at your website, and I need to say it makes total sense for me the way you set up your pages and posts, my site has/will have a similar setup where the pages are more like the categories within the menu and the actual posts will be linked under those pages depending on the topic. I need to admit I have been puzzled with it as well for a couple of days until I figured out how I wanted the layout exactly :)

Hello Linda - thank you for your feedback. I appreciate the time you took to look at Silver Bikers. Having slept on this question I feel that it is a good way to combine posts and pages. I can use internal links from a post to introduce an article. This way I can use post to revive flagging "evergreen" content that is a few months old or that has become seasonally appropriate again etc etc etc

good idea Julie, I fully agree to refresh content time to time

Thank you Buddle, I have found her profile and will follow her and read her advice. I've also gone to your profile page and will say"hello" over there.
