The Plateau
In the journey of "Positive Thinking" like anything else in life you start out with a bang but are in need of a boost every now and again because you reach "The Plateau" stage where your zeal has fizzled and you start to struggle with the day to day tasks as you did before.
The reason I write this now is because I find this happening to me of late and I want to encourage both myself and others who are in the same funk to hang in there and fight through the rubble and climb back up to the top like the champions I know we all are.
The thing about things like "The Secret" and "Positive Thinking" is seeing beyond whats in front of you to the future you WANT to CREATE and as we've been so conditioned we only see our current state of being i.e bills need to be payed, the hole in the wall we call an apartment, failed relationships. The ability to push past all of that and see that our dreams are within our grasp is truly a skill that must be learned and programmed into every cell of our being.
As most, if not all personal development gurus and books would tell us " the only person keeping you from success is you". We sabotage ourselves with our low esteemed thinking with things like "I can't ", "I'll never", "If only" well you get what I mean.
It's so much more challenging when you know what the the right thing to do is and fight against your programmed way of thinking to get out of "The Plateau " state of mind. Nothing annoys me more when I'm at a stand still, no moving forward no going back, just there ugghhhhhh. I suppose it is something one must go through as a lesson to learn or a way of giving yourself a mental break from being overwhelmed by loads o new information.
I will not however let it beat me and neither should you. I will get up dust myself off and listen to some motivational talks on youtube (gotta love that site) and read from those who have gone through this journey before and learn from them and take what tools I can to restart or should I say continue my journey.
We're all in this together guys. You are not alone. We all have our hurdles to cross.

Great job and thanks for sharing. My problem is I keep using a shotgun approach as I start something, see something or find something and wind up not doing what was planned and get little actually completed
I use to use a planner when I was a construction superintendent so may have to try that for myself. Thanks
Great post. I work so hard during the day I find it difficult to focus on content in the evening. Sometimes it's a real struggle. Very rewarding as time goes on though. I'm still not happy with my site. It's nowhere on Google, has no comments and looks too surgical with no pretty pictures etc. Absolutely miles behind everyone else but I will keep going. Every day I will train more and add more content. Reading stuff like this really helps. Thanks again. Best wishes. Doug.
Glad to help Doug and thanks for your comment. Like they say it's not a race it's a marathon you're doing what you can in the time that you have and consistency is key. So you'll get it in time
Being able to just write a blog shows that you have got the motivation to go on. It can be difficult at times to research and write the next post for your site.
Make a list of all the things you want to add to your site. This will get the creative juices flowing and you never know you may jump onto the computer and start writing one of your best posts ever :)
Keep smiling and being positive :)

Hi indifly, You always have to think positive Every day, take a few minutes to look at your progress towards your goal, and pat yourself on the back for what you've done, even if you think you haven't produced meaningful results. Keep thinking positive you will reach your goal. Have a bless day

Great post, and your are right on what you saying. Been there done that and once in a while it still likes to sneak up on me. The only thing I do is looking for pleasing things I already have. Saying a few appreciations about it and also what I have achieved already, does helps me to "march" forward again.
Hope you are leaving the plateau very quick again. :)
All the best to you.
Sylvia
Thanks Sylvia, we're only human but I don't intend on being stuck any longer. The blog is the first step as I'm admitting it
