Hi guys. If you haven't read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill you should. It is one of the most profound books ever written. To think of your mind as a tool that you can use to create your reality if so baffling to most but it is however very true.

We all at times suffer from "woe is me " syndrome, "my life is such a mess, why is this happening to me?". When we look back at a lot of our misfortunes and look at the events that occurred thereafter from the decisions we made sometimes some great things happened ( that is if we turned it around and made the best of it).

This quote is best explained through the story "Three Feet From Gold", it's a story of a man let's call him Greg who had a mine and dug and dug to no avail, got angry and gave up and sold his lot to another man let's call him William and went back to his hometown. William sought out a professional who analysed the track Greg had taken in digging and said he was 3 feet off from where the gold was supposed to be. So William did just that and well, let's just say he was a happy man. The point is that Greg had a dream of becoming rich, lost sight of the dream and became frustrated and instead of seeking out help he gave up and lost out on what should have been rightfully his.

I know Albert Einstein also defines insanity as "doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" but that's just it if you find you're failing at it in one way try it from another angle. William from the start knew he was no expert and that clearly neither was Greg so he sought out help from someone who did know.

Colonel Sanders went through a lot of hardships before the KFC Franchise was born. Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Robert Kiyosaki and many more that we look at today for guidance or inspiration all went through some serious challenges before they achieved greatness.

It's all about turning it around and looking at it from a different perspective.

Don't give up because right around the corner can be your greatest success.

Love the Napoleon Hill quote, thank you very much!! :)

you're welcome

Nice post! Even as a kid I used to enjoy reading biographies of great men and women in history, such inspiration can be gleaned from learning from those who have faced challenges in life and overcome them!

Thank you. That's what we're all here for to learn form each other; our mistakes our victories.... these great people made one decision and changed history, so can we.

Nice. Napolean Hill's works will live on forever. He was truly one of the best.

hi Indifly
great book "think and grow rich", I read last year, it changes my thoughts like Dale Carnegie and Jeffrey Gitomer. The american have dream, different way of life than France. Everyone is born equal but the life is a choice. Good or bad choice but everyone can success
"keep your thoughts positive because they become your words"Gandhi

Well in the Caribbean it is easy to think within a bubble and never get out. 3rd world ways of thinking can be a challenge to be around when you're striving for greatness.

Wow, that's encouraging. I've has some massive massive failures! Also some successes, but that failures thing has me looking forward to some spectacular success. Nice post.

Thanks for posting this. That is one of those books that I always wanted to read, but as yet have not had the time to get around to. I have heard little nuggets of wisdom coming from this book, so may have to find the time to read it now :)

Hi EnglishLady, with android you can get an audio book app these days or the book itself to read on your phone. That's how I got to read it =).

This is awesome, thanks

Neishka, I like the fact that you look in the past only for your learning and in the future for your planning and activities. That seems like a good game plan to me. Best wishes.
Harold
