How to find the solution to your question on WA
Hello,
We all know how it goes, we are working on our site and suddenly something does not work or you have a problem with something you did not expect...
First you search where it could be wrong in your WordPress dashboard or where ever you are until you don't know anymore what to do.
So probably a little bit frustrated, you write a question about your problem and you have to wait on some feedback, this can go quick and this can take a while...
Well, before you send that question there is actually a great tool here at WA:
The WA search bar!
I will give some examples of recurring questions where I give the same link as solution on the question and I also found it thru the WA search bar:
- I cannot see anything in my visual editor and in the text editor everything is there: What do you fill in the search bar: the problem or just the "thing" where you have a problem with, in this case, I entered Visual Editor.
Below you can see how many links there are already existing, preferably choose one from training, there you will have the best description of the solution.
In this case I always answer with this link (the first you see actually) cause in this one you find most options to find solution:

If it is not immediately the correct solution, try another 2 suggestions and then I think if it still not works: Create Question! - Where can I find pictures/images?
Also a question that appears every few days. I mostly enter images or also sometimes pictures and you get again a complete list of answers on both search words.
For pictures I take this link:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/pjgermain/blog/top... - My last example of a recurring question: I search a plugin for this or for that:
I take now as example Subscribe Plugin, cause that is already a few times that there was a question for the same plugin:
So again I search on the subject of the question: Subscribe Plugin and you immediately get a list of options, check 2 or 3 of those and probably you will know which plugin you have to install.

But also in the other links you can find great info...
And in the case of plugins: you can also go to add new plugin and enter the same search words (but this is already not completely related with the WA search bar.)
I hope my examples were clear and understandable...
The goal of this blog is to help you because I can imagine that it is not that nice to interrupt your work, ask a question, wait and then continue.
For me personally: It are easy questions to answer and you make somebody happy, so I like them actually... ;-)
But I think that some people will be more aware of the possibilities of the WA search bar and will be able to be more "self-helpful" and that is a better feeling then waiting on somebody's answer (I think). So therefor this blog...
A last remark: Do not put a lot of time (you decide this self of course) in finding a solution in the WA search bar, when you don't find the answer more or less immediately you can better ask the question...

The search bar has always been my first choice when I have a question. Most questions have been asked before. As you noted, sometimes finding the previous conversations can be difficult if you don't use the right search terms but it only takes a couple minutes to try several search terms.
I appreciate that you posted this idea. I certainly have found that some questions get asked over and over. If people learned to use the search bar they might find the answers that have already been discussed.
