I don't know why you would want to close your account. You are a premium member. You still have a few more months left before it expires. But if you have no second thoughts, here are the steps: Click on Websites on the left, then click on Site manager, then click on Details on bottom right, then scroll all the way down to the bottom, and click the "Delete this website". I wish you the best on your next journey in life.
I canceled mine for about a year. It's under membership, cancel membership.
They keep your website hosted for I think a month after so you have time to get it working somewhere else on your own but then it's gone.

why did you pay? I did all the free lessons before I paid anything but even then, i quit for a while. I'm certainly not trying to sell WA but it is pretty good so hopefully in a more appropriate time you can come back and do your website. All the best :)

I don't know how much you have thought about the Wealthy Affiliate platform, I guess you signed up as you are looking for an opportunity to make money?
As you said, you haven't applied anything. I have been self-employed since 1983 and something that I've learned is that if we don't do anything, nothing will happen! It takes a lot of hard work and effort to run a business, however, the rewards can be fantastic.
I think you need to think twice before leaving Wealthy Affiliate as you are potentially missing out on a great opportunity. I don't know if you know but there are many success stories on this great platform. The Internet has opened up all sorts of new business ventures that be could never have dreams of a few years ago.
I would ask yourself, what you want to achieve in life and how is the best way to do it. Personally, knowing the power of the Internet, I would definitely say the Internet is a great way to make money online.
I just want to encourage you to take action.

More sharing of experience, blogging
Social media

Digtal networking, meetings online
Job insecurity
Stay at home parents
Education at home
Big lifestyle changes
Questioning the norm
As with any big shift the list is endless and the trick is spot which of the trends will continue and which new ones will arise even further. Even the likes of zoom did not predict this growth.
For WA its an opportunity on how we help people navigate that through our blogs.The other thing to be aware of is the people who have exploited that ruthlessley have not faired well but businesses that have helped their customers are flying. So our purpose and mission within all of this is key.

I think it would be best to focus on what the official sources say.
It's unfortunate that the legal side is an area barely any online income focused platform gets into. But it makes sense due to the massive amount of regulations they would need to cover for different countries, states, local, etc. Not to mention potential liability of doing so.
Since you seem to be in the USA (Miami, FL) the SBA is a good start.

That covers Federal regulations. Each state has their own regulations. And each local government has their own as well.
Again from the SBA:
"States tend to regulate a broader range of activities than the federal government. For example, business activities that are commonly regulated locally include auctions, construction, and dry cleaning, farming, plumbing, restaurants, retail, and vending machines."
If your local government is telling you that you need a license then I would view that as you need a license. Definitely, I would make sure they understand what you are doing.
Terminology can be confusing. For example, if you are talking about "selling", "making sales", etc and in reality you plan on focusing completely on affiliate marketing then you are not actually making sales. You are simply introducing people to products and services that are being sold by other people (who would need the applicable licenses and collecting sales tax, etc).
It's a real problem I think when so many affiliates talk about "making sales" because in reality they are not making any sales unless they are actually selling something themselves. They are simply doing marketing / referring potential customers to vendors and the vendors are the ones making sales. BUT... again... this is only my understanding of it and would make sense to consult a professional in the area to be sure they don't interpret your activities differently.
An individual can start a business. At some stage, you think about incorporation into an entity for business purposes.
You can start affiliate marketing as an individual. You are the sole proprietor. You do not need a company for this. You file individual income tax and there is a form for this. Even Amazon affiliate allows individuals and company registration as affiliates.

Well, in addition to the original comment, I have contacted city officials before and was told any type of business needs to be registered with the local business tax authority in Miami Dade. I contacted the Florida Dept of Revenue a while back and they told me that for online business a business license wasn't required. I had contacted my CPA and asked him and he checked and told me that it wasn't really needed unless I hit the $60000 business income. So I just wanted to see the experiences people have had with this matter.
Interestingly enough, I have not seen anything to do with that in the training. I, personally don't have one.
That said, It might be worth checking out the local licencing bureau??? on that subject.
It would help, to do it the right way, have a business bank account and llc (or whatever). but not technically required, it would just be in your name with your ssn # but could get complicated if the money started to really flow in. Best to do it under a business.

Yes, there are times you are going to go thru where you need to step back and wait. I would take the opportunity to learn from the lessons here. There is information you can use. You have to believe you are here for a reason. Stick with it. Don't pass on the opportunity you have. This is a great place to learn.
Hmmm... I get where you're coming from. I too had a really hard time at the start picking something I was "passionate about". Eventually I just picked something (which now I think is dumb) and got started. While that particular niche ended up not being profitable and I gave up on that site eventually, what I learned there about affiliate marketing was very valuable.
Instead of looking at your passion, how about picking something that you like to shop for, or a niche that has products you find interesting (and that are expensive... expensive products = higher commissions) and building out a product reviews website. Individual product reviews, comparison reviews, "top 10" type posts in that area. If you like cameras, cars, doing stuff in the kitchen, grilling, etc... each of those can be a niche. You don't have to be obsessed with something to build a profitable site around the niche. (That's an unfortunate possible weakness in the training... the push to get people who are starting to focus on a passion primarily. Not all of us have passions. I'd advise picking something PROFITABLE ;) .)

I started a new site 2 years back following his advice/methodology in a niche that is NOT a passion of mine, but I've done really well with it, and have managed to stay focused because it's WORKING. And that's motivation.
