My Last Sermon! I hope

I should admit, up front, that I am on a bit of a rant again today. I am still hoping that each of you will make an effort to achieve optimum health and benefit from all of the rewards.

I have a son who was told by an oncologist this a.m. that the most that could be accomplished by treating his liver cancer would be to prolong his life. There are several reasons that infuriates me. One is that the worst thing we can ever do for a person is to take away their hope. Our hope is always such a huge factor in changing any situation we are in to a better one. If we have no hope then we no longer have a reason to make an effort to solve our problem. Another reason I am angry about the information he was given is that he was not told that this was only the opinion of the Dr. he was talking to and that many people did not agree with that opinion and that cancer may be cured by means other than chemotherapy. So his expertise is limited to what he knows about andt that he has studied for years.

This ties in with another rant I posted a few days ago and indicates again that no matter how good our intent is that if we make recommendations regarding another person's ongoing health we must be certain that we know enough to do so. If we encourage another person to do something that is harmful to them our intent does not matter because the result is just the same. It is important that we know what we know but we need to also know what we do not know.

While I am wound up I want to add some to my last post. If anyone is going to recommend a diet for you or a fast or anything else that can impact your chemical balance, your immune system, your kidney function, or your thyroid balance and it's function they need at least an hour of time with you and information regarding these systems and your family history. If you are on some diet or period of detox or fast and your system is stressed at a time when your body is presented with some cancer cells or a staph infection or a flu bug or an injury from which you need to recover it can quickly become a serious problem for you. Remember that you have over 70 trillion cells and each has 46 chromosomes that are working 24/7 and not one of them is like those of anyone else. So what works well for one person will not necessarily work well for the next. It could be very harmful in fact.

I am aware that most sermons are never heard or paid any attention to by the sinners but I care a great deal about my WA friends and I think we can all increase our value to each other in ways that may not be financial. Our members are very wise and astute and have learned to be cautious with their financial lives and planning. I am just urging you to extend that caution to include your health since you are going to be responsible for it. Be careful from whom you get your advice and be sure you have reason to trust their judgment. I am not presenting myself as an expert nor am I suggesting you buy my products instead of someone else's.

I hope to stay off of my soap box now but that is not a promise.

Best wishes to all and congratulations to all of those whose progress we have been reading about. I know of no other community where there is as much caring for each other. I hope every member will learn from what is behind, keep focused on what is ahead and never give up hope. Keep up the effort to achieve optimum health.

Harold I am so sorry to hear of the challenge you son is faced with and of his tactless doctor! Really good doctors I have found to be few and far between. That is my personal experience and that is one reason why I cherish you! I have sent you a pm which I hope you will find helpful and I am praying for your son and for you! Sending you love and a hug Harold, Christa :)

Thank you Christa. It is always good to hear from you.
Harold

Christa, thank you so much for all of the information you sent. I hope it can be helpful to Dave on his journey and that your own continues to be successful. Best wishes to you.
Harold

Thank you Harold! I continue seek knowledge and Father's guidance! Best wishes to you and Dave as well and I continue to hold you both in my prayers! Christa

I could not agree more when it comes to doctors who tell their patients things like that, it is a terrible thing to do!
Cancer is something that comes and goes in our bodies all the time, we just don't know about it because a healthy and balanced body can handle it. Boosting the immune system with lots and lots of good food is crucial and should be the first recommendation from doctors but unfortunately they get no information about nutrition while in training which is scandalous.
Wishing your son and you all the best and a speedy recovery!
Blessings, Kristina

I agree completely. We have no idea what the body can accomplish when we give it all it needs to work with including a positive mental attitude. We just must never take away a person's hope. Best to you.

Please continue to rant whenever you feel the need. My positive thoughts go to Dave and I truly wish him well. Take care of him and yourself. ~Marion

Thank you Marion. Dave has had some difficult challenges before and is a confirmed optimist even though frightened. Hopefully we will know more within a few days.
Harold

Have faith. There are many cancer survivors around today.

Thanks David. I suspect that, despite the fact we are not aware of it, our bodies are dealing with cancer cells on a pretty regular basis.

I am so sorry to hear about your son Harold, I will be praying for him. And I never consider your posts a Sermon, I consider it to be great advice from a very wise man who knows what he's talking about. God Bless you and your son Harold.

Thank you Jazmin. None of us know enough to be very excited about. I hope things are still better for you and your family.
Harold

Thank you Harold, I will continue to pray for your son.

I, for one, hope that this is NOT your last sermon. You give good practical heartfelt advice that is full of wisdom. Prayers going up for your son. Take care.

Thank you Glenda. I always appreciate having you in my corner. WA is fortunate to have you here.

I'm sorry to hear about your son and I do hope that he is listening to you and not taking the word of his oncologist as gospel. I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Have you heard of the book "You are the Placebo" by Dr Joe Dispenza." It's worth it for you and for him to read. You can read the summary and some reviews of it. I think it could help. There is no product or food or treatment advised.

Emilie, I wrote you a note today. Then I got fascinated reading some of your posts and forgot to send it. Thank you for your response. Dave is very open. I am not familiar with the book but will get it and we will be considering all options. The Dr's. opinion hit him pretty hard today, partly from the way it was presented. You are quite the writer and I hope you do pursue that to it's end point and then include that in your Eulogy. That was a fun read.
Harold

Thank you for your kind comments about my writings Harold. I'm glad you and your son are open to considering all options. I'm going to PM with some information for you both to consider.

Thank you again Emilie. I have read and printed out the info in your p.m. and appreciate it so much. I am looking forward to more of your writing.
Harold

You're very welcome.

Sorry about your son. I have prostate cancer and have had my prostate removed. Then after a couple years the cancer came back. So in I went for radiation treatments. Don't know how that is working. Probably won't find out for a couple more months. I worry about the cancer getting into the bone. That waiting is not fun.

Bottom line is, I know how this cancer thing can wear on ones mind. Good luck and my prayers are with you and your son.

Thanks for your note Larry. The fear associated with cancer is very real. Maybe even more so than it should be. There are thousands cured every year so lets assume you are one of them. I have been thought for 15 yrs. to have cancer of the prostate despite over 50 negative biopsies. So lets just keep on keeping on. Thanks again Larry.
Harold

Yep, keep on doing what Ya do best is the only way. Thanks Harold

Harold, I'm sorry that your son has to go through this. I'm right up there on that soap box with you! I won't go off into a rant which would be easy to do when talking about these things, but I do suggest he keep a POSITIVE attitude of hope. You may not be an expert on cancer, but you are an expert on health and related issues. Perhaps you can guide him to where he needs to go and what he needs to do.

Debbi

Thanks Debbie for your always wise thoughts. Dave is a very positive person and has overcome some huge challenges in the past. I appreciate you.
Harold

Harold, I am sorry to hear about your son. Has he ever tried Chinese Herbs? They are helping me for years now to fight Leukemia with great success. Something our pharma industry will never achieve\
Johnh

Thank you for your note and thoughts. He has not and has never realized that he would not have good health forever. Would you mind giving me further info? He will have a log of things he will need to consider seriously. Feel free to PM me if it is longer than you want to go into here.
Harold

I will PM you.
John
