My mail list is going to Mars
My Email Journey
I have been testing out different mailproviders on my different websites this year.
I started with Mailpoet which is very easy to use and have great templates. I have built a substantial list with Mailpoet, but it has unfortunately some limits when it comes to integrations, split testing and larger campaigns.
So I asked many marketers what they used and it was basically Aweber most people recommended to me. I have tried other autoresponders like Get response, mailer lite and mailchimp as well.
But I am now keeping a button on Aweber.
Not long ago I created a new list in Aweber for a product I am promoting.
They are giving out badges evey time you hit a milestone. I just hit 100 subscribers on that list. I normally celebrate my small milestones by blogging about them here at WA, but it made me think about how to celebrate the bigger wins. What do people do? What do you do?
I will use the Aweber badges as an example.(cove photo : Printscreen from Awbeer mail)
Milestone 1 - The Party Boat

When you reach your first 10 subscribers you get into the paty boat and recieve a party boat badge. Not a huge milestone, but an important one.But not something I would blog about.
Milestone 2 - Mailrocket - Mars Colony

With The second badge you are able to colonize Mars.
But you need 100 subscribers to be able to colonize Mars.
This is where I am now with my new List. I am on my way to mars :) to colonize and do my first spacewalk. 100 subscribers is something to blog about, but should I do something more?
Should I give my email list something extra? What do you think?
Milestone 3 - Doing a Spacewalk
Photo: Unsplash
According to Aweber 500 is approximtely the number of people who have been to space.
So now I am aiming for my first Spacewalk .)
A nice celebration on mars would definitely be a great event for my subscribers, but I am afraid it would look quite empty up there as the tickets to mars are considered High ticket sales unless the prices drop drastically.
I would definitely need to come up with another idea. Any suggestions?
Milestone 4 - Populate Antarctica
Photo: Unsplash
At 1000 subscribers you are ready to populate Antarctica. Did you know 1000 people live there in wintertime? I had no Idea, but reading about these badges I learned it. So when you hit the 1000 mark you know what to do. Arrange a tour to Antarctica for your subscribers :).
Great idea, but not exactly what I had in mind for my upcoming 1000 subscribers.
Milestone 5 - Climbing Mount Everest
Photo: Unsplash
With 5000 subscribers on your list you can finally climb Mount Everest.
5000 people have already tried to do that. Some succeeded and others did not.
I am not sure if I would invite my mail list to climb mount Everest, but it would absolutely be a memory for life.
I am just afraid 99% would give up before reaching the top including myself. I heard it is freezing cold at the top. And I do not like the cold or to climb in mountains. It has never been my dream unless someone could offer to drop me off on the top so I could enjoy the view.
I have a friend who was there and lost a few fingers and toes.Does not sound vey tempting.
So I would probably pick a tropical beach instead to celebrate this. How to celebrate 5000 Subscribers. Special offers? Live events? What would you do?
Milestone 6 - The Domino effect
Photo: Unsplash
Did you know that the longest human dominochain had 10.000+ people?
I did not until Aweber informed me about it. I guess it is the same with your mail list.
When you hit these numbers you will see the domino effect and be able to invite your list to hit the Guinness record of human domino email subscriber chains. Something to think about?
Or a special challenge of some kind?
Milestone 7 - World Peace
Photo: Unsplash
When you hit the 25.000 email list mark you get the World peace badge. You are ready and able to make a huge impact. So going for world peace is maybe not a bad Idea.
Better than creating a war. If you were to impact 25.000 - What would you do?
Milestone 8 - The Rugby badge
Photo: Pixabay
You could fill up the worlds largest Rugby field with your 50. 000 subscribers.
This is a huge milestone. What would you do when you hit that mark to celebrate with your subscribers?
Milestone 9 - The Cricket badge
Photo: Unsplash
I guess most of us will not get as far as to fill up some of the largest cricket stadiums with 100.000 subscribers, but we can at least aim for it, right?
Some will and I have always wondered: what do people do when they hit this milestone to celebrate?
Milestone 10 - Freestyle

Do you think you will be able to get 250.000 subscribers? Now you are really a big shot and how do you celebrate this one? Any suggestions?
Milestone 11 - Chopper
Photo: Unsplash
500.000 subscribers is a lot of people. I would say If you come this far you are a superstar.
It would be some kind of motorcycle rally inviting your whole list to one. It would be an interesting event.
Milestone 12 - Music festival
Photo: Unsplash
With 750.000 subscribers you could arrange a huge music festival to celebrate your milestone. That would be a geat way to celebrate such a milestone. Any other good ideas?
Milestone 13 - Royalty
Photo: Unsplash
At the one million subscriber mark you can dfinitely call yourself Queen or a king if you are a man.Time for a Royal wedding maybe? I mean How to Celebrate 1 million subscribers?
You may think this is it - no more badges, but Aweber have actually made a few more.
Extra badges
Clockwork badge for Consistency
Photo: Unsplash
Building a list of subscribers demands consistency on your part . It is just as much work to keep them happy as it is to get them on your list. So if you send broadcast weekly to your subscribers for 3 months you will get this extra badge.Could you do that?
It is quite simple - you just schedule your emails and automate.
Crowd pleaser
Photo: Unsplash
If you manage to maintain an average of 25%+ open rate or 5% click-through rate for 3 consecutive months, with a minimum of 6 messages sent during those 3 months , you will get this badge. Something to aim for now.It will be interesting to see the 3 months stats on my lists and compare.

Create your own template using the smart designer to ean this. I actually got this badge already. A great tool for customizing your emails.
No more badges, but you will get a thank you from me for reading my post and leaving some helpful comments to how you celebrate your Email milestones.
Hope it serves you well

Good luck with them. I had an account and was an affiliate til they suspended my account without reason or explanation.
I terminated straight away and use another provider now
I noticed you use another provider now,
may I ask which one I am always wondering about others to check out.
