Using Long-Tail Keywords to Generate More Traffic
Hello everybody. I have been a little concerned about my website not getting any traffic yet. I decided to learn about this topic and I want to share a summary of what I read.
I found out that using long-tail key words can be more effective to generate traffic in the long term than specific single keywords. This is explained by the fact that people who use Google and other search engines tend more and more to use natural language to word their searches. Because of that, targeting more specific keyword phrases with low search volume can become profitable.
Something I also read is that instead of just focusing on a single keyword in each page, it is better to use as many relevant words and terms as possible in each post. To do this it is necessary not only to use the primary key words but also to find their synonyms.
One way to find those long tail keywords is to use Google´s Suggest and Related Keywords: the ones we usually see at the bottom of the page and the drop-down we see when typing in the search field. It is important to take into account that most of the keywords that appear there are generated by the searches real people actually did.
Another way to find relevant long key words is to read the comments in forums, discussion threads and authority blogs. The issues people discuss there are usually the ones they used in their searches. In other words, people´s interactions on the topics related to your niche can become an excellent source of profitable long tail keywords.
Something that must be taken into account is that sometimes long-.tail keywords are grammatically incorrect. When this happens, you must find creative ways to modify them when writing content pages or posts. It is important to make them sound as natural as possible. However, keeping them as intact as possible is also necessary. This is where you have to use your creativity.
When some long-key words are so specific that do not allow the generation of more than one post, it is recommended to creatively use keyword sets that can be merged and used together so that they can be targeted in the content.
Identifying profitable long-tail words can help the site rank higher even though they do not guarantee an instant increase of traffic. They have to be perceived as long term investments that with time, perseverance and patience will pay off.

Good post. I was reviewing the original training today to refresh my mind on this topic . I have a series of posts I am writing on certain golf tips, and I can cheat a bit by sneaking the same long tail key word in the new post, and then writing the content around it; something like golf tips for beginners . I am learning how to play with Jaaxy also to see what it spits out.
Yes, the idea is to use those long-tail keywords and keyword phrases in creative ways and with as many variations as possible to make them more profitable. Some terms can be merged or combined to make the content look more natural and easy to read.
One of my best performing pages uses a 7 word keyword phrase. It gets picked up for many long tail variations :)
Yes, I forgot to mention that some long-tail keywords or keyword phrases can have between 20 and 50 variations. It requires creativity.
