1. MY CONFESSION....
OK, first off, I would just like to say that I haven’t been signed up by Kyle and Carson as some weird, drug-crazed Mr Motivator, although you could be forgiven for thinking so, especially when I go off on one of my hyped up rants. Truth be told, I don’t overly care if I come across as a little eccentric, but I do care about wanting to help others and make a difference. I’m just your regular guy who signed up (didn’t even know what or who WA was a month ago!) whilst searching for an exchange scalping product (and that’s another story that I’ll no doubt mention in another blog!)
Right, the confession that I need to make, comes from a post that I made on a blog the other day, which I personally felt was of such good content, that it was worthy of so much more than the handful of likes and comments that it received. Here it is, the blog in question:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/heidiy/blog/3-month-progress-report
It’s so much better than anything I’ve managed to muster.
My confession, whether you agree or disagree, is simply I thought that if the blog title had been along the lines of ‘hoping to achieve 10k per month by 2020’ then this would have gained more attention than the headline that was used.(3 month progress)
This is turn, led me to the write my previous blog, titled ‘my PASSIVE journey to £$1000 per week’
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/heyday/blog/my-passive-journey-to-1000-per-week
Now, i worded the title deliberately so that it might gain more readership, which going by the comments and likes, I would estimate at least 5 times as many people read it compared to Heidi’s blog and I think it even ranked as the 4th most popular blog of the day at one point.
I’m not suggesting that we all rush off and put lucrative numbers in the blog headline, but a thoughtful and attention grabbing caption is a must, and I hope you can forgive me for my headline experiment.
2. GOALS BY NUMBERS
848....I cannot believe I’m ranked at this number, I think the ranking algorithm thingeemajigga is broken!
500...would love to build my network up to this ASAP
30...amount of new hours I would like to propose in a day, so that I can fit in my WA ‘work’
3. I NEED YOUR HELP...
I’ve decided that I need a catchphrase,(yes, I told you that I’m crazy) so I’ve come up with a couple, and if you can think of one that’s better, then please let me know in the comments box, this will be the title of my next blog
A. Make heyday, while the sun shines
B. Go ahead punk, make my Heyday
C. Your choice, please insert a better phrase in the comment box!
4. BLOG TIP
I’ve found that by doing a small contents table at the top of the blog, I can remember more easily what I want to mention and if I get broken off, I can save it and come back. Hopefully it makes it a little more reader friendly too
That’s it folks! Thank you for taking the time to read, I’d really appreciate you pressing the green like button too, if you think the blog is worthy?!
Best wishes
Heyday
Here are my comments:
Confession: There's nothing wrong with experimentation, or trial and error. It's actually something that we need to do periodically to discern what works and what doesn't.
You're not the first to...ahh... express "concern" over receiving a low amount of comments. Someone just wrote an incredible training on Instagram - I mean, this was top notch - and he didn't even receive 30 likes at the time! Everything has to be taken with a grain of salt.
Goals: I've ceased trying to make sense of the WA algorithm. I simply acknowledge its presence, humbly submit to its authority, then just keep it moving.
You may receive the number of followers you desire quicker than expected.
Was that 30 new hours you'd like to create in a day or did you mean 30 new hours in a week? I wasn't sure if that was a typo, sarcasm - which I am a huge fan of - or just wishful thinking.
Help: Neither of those catchphrases peaks my interest, to be honest. But, I also don't know what you're trying to convey, so I'm a bit stumped.
Blog Tip: If this works for you, cool.
Well... that was fun! I tend to leave mini-posts as comments if something really captures my interest. My apologies for not giving you fair warning in the beginning; I'm sure you would have preferred to get a snack before reading...LOL.
Have an incredible day, David!
