The Trouble with Wealthy Affiliate
Oh boy!!
Ive just got to get this off my chest before I burst !
I have read all sorts of stuff about Wealthy Affiliate in my time as a member here... Stuff that for the majority of the time really was very positive about WA.. all the things they can do for someone wanting to get online with a business... Really good things about how they're not a scam, no get rich quick here.. unlike a ton of other sensationalist websites that I am sure we have all stumbled across.. You know the sort.. big headlines enblazoned across the screen..
Sign Up In The Next Ten Minutes and Win $10,000 ! You know the stuff... They wont say what its all about until you've read nearly all the article or sat through the drivel on a video to find that its some pyramid scheme or some really boring basic shit they could have told you ten minutes ago!
We all know those articles are rubbish and that WA doesn't advocate anything like that. Kyle and Carson are honest, straightforward guys and we get decent material within the website for our bucks...
Well I came accross this today....
This was the starting paragraph.
I feel so indignant after I read the article and read some of the comments left at the bottom, one from September of this year....
How dare they tear down the whole fabric of my business online ?? Throw negativity at me??
The article is skewed and in no way offers any credible information but those that left comments certainly believed it... I know we all like different things but I look upon this article as being libelous and totally unacceptable.
And this next bit....
So I am a Wealthy Affiliate Zombie Slave? Really!! 🤬
I am not bringing this to everyones attention because Im not capable of leaving an equally stinging comment back on his website, trashing the whole article into the ether as being from a disillusioned crackpot who wants to drag everyone else down with him, but because I am not going to lower myself to his level and start 'a mud slinging contest'.
I dont feel I have to justify myself or my membership here...
This guy that wrote this has clearly got some axe to grind. He was a member here so should know that he has put out a vastly libellous article that in no way reflects the ethos and workings of Wealthy Affiliate.
I just feel indignant that someone can write such garbage !
Ill leave you with this little nugget....
Who in their right mind would say that WA is not legitimate?? And why would you not host your site here? I have not had any issues whatsoever with the websites I have here...
Grrrr.... got my heart rate up reading his drivel.... I need a coffee to calm down !

I simply look at WA as a huge repository of information already compiled for the user, thus saving them a lot of time trying to gather it all themselves. Couple that with the wealth of knowledge form many members available for the asking and you simply cannot beat the price of this--FAR cheaper than one University 3 credit hour half-semester course! WA is what your time and effort make it. The people that succeed here do so for a reason--hard work put into it, but thanks to Kyle and Carson's efforts to provide the best education and platform that they possibly can!

Love that Jeff ! You have hit the nail on the head with your opinion and I agree with you completely. This guy clearly didnt want to have to work and was not considering what WA offer people who have no online skills, like me when I first came here. If it wasn't for everything I have learned here, I would not be able to do anything online. Not only that but the confidence I have to run a website for a doctor with success too. !
That's awesome, Helen, there literally are no bounds here to the earning and learning potential offered by WA and its large community! The sky is the limit!

i would like to think that if i received that on my website I would have the ability "not to lower myself to their level" I fear not, I would probably be vitriolic, hurt and possibly defensive. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I hate influential manipulators. We have a woman in the UK called Katie Hopkins who for what ever purpose will deliberately bait and be quite obnoxious on both social media and the TV, she makes an art form out of humiliating people.
She is actually a really bright lady with some good values but she uses her skill in a negative way. She has faced several stinging lawsuits and has actually lost her wealth and house as a result, however she continues. I feel this man is of similar mindset.

Katie Hopkins sounds like a real piece of work. I hate negative marketing and consider it to be toxic. Much prefer talking about what I love rather than what I hate. :-)

Yes Im from the UK too, I know Katie Hopkins.. didnt she start her career on The Apprentice... I seem to remember she was a particularly irritating person, really in your face and as you say 'deliberately obnoxious' Some of what she said was actually true showing she was a very astute business woman but she chose to use it in a very bad way. Im not surprised she lost all her wealth, being argumentative and negative has got to be tiring too.... I decided not to say anything because with every thing else going on online, articles about Brexit, Meghan Markle, there is no much poison, I am trying not to get sucked into commenting and becoming an angry person too.
You’re right though Helen, it is best to keep a dignified silence as it can all to easily escalate...you then end up feeling wretched and prone to misdirect feelings of anger at loved ones...

Hope you have your glitches sorted ! Its frustrating ! I was rather irritated by the person in this thread, but really not going to waste time on people who only want to knock me down. Yes I liked Derek's witty message. So much better to read that and yes there are issues here but so would there be anywhere that there is a huge community of people all expecting different things. I think Kyle et al do a damn great job !
Hi Eric, I have just had a quick look and I cant actually see what else he is promoting, It might be the angle I have come to his website, but most of it is on regular online stuff like SEO etc. Its like he just wanted to dish out the dirt and see how far he could fling it.
Nope.. have nothing else to offer, so decide to slag off the one good online platform, that is NOT a scam !

Sorry to hear about the negativity you have been receiving!
It is really easy and quick to find out, if a website is legit or not.
If there is a padlock on the left side of the link in the header of the website then the website is safe and legit. This padlock can not be messed with and their for a sign to look out for!
Google add these to give the person searching a certainty, that the website is safe.
Hope you don't receive more negativity and would recommend you report the person to Kyle and Carson.

Sour grapes from someone who was here shortly and did not do anything the way they should have. From reading his review we can see why he was not successful. :) Good call out Helen. Keep moving forward. They will be on another program in 30-60 days and trash that one also and you will be having the success for staying the course and working the plan.

Its true Bill. I think in the heat of the moment I read it and my heckles rose ! But all the calming messages here put it into perspective. 😁
Mine do also when reading stuff like that. I have been insulating myself though. Many programs I have been in successfully have taught be there will be haters and those who jump constantly to the next big thing always. I ignore it! It's ok to vent though. :)
Good that we have a platform here that we can vent and get calmer perspectives. Online work is tough in that you have no colleagues around you but at least we have online, to bounce ideas from, get rid of anger, and annoyance and feel supported and baked up with sensible rhetoric. 😁
This guy should have added "and do NOT do a month of training for $19.00. You may find it useful and develop a vision of what is possible!"
And what does he possibly gain? What is he selling?

hahahaha !! Yes Dianne, if he had bothered to do the work and continue to do the work, then he might not have written this. The expectations sometimes are too high, especially if the work on niche finding has not been done thoroughly enough. But we all know that, shame he has to spit poison though..

a lot will sign up and some will go premium after forgetting what they read.
so you will get negative views of any program whether it is good or bad - even the reviewer says ' why not sign pu and see what it is about'
made me chuckle at least.

hahaah ! Coffee is a stimulant to most, but I use it as a treat, I have a tassimo coffee maker so when I get stressy I go have a nice vanilla Latte Macchiato and feel better again! 😂

Thanks Joe... and a very positive perspective from it... it has to be someone who didnt want to put in the work and was expecting something for nothing.... But the comments at the end of the article were equally poisonous.... some were defending WA but others were spitting out venom...

If they had the courage to get on a VIDEO Zoom or Skype conversation to state their case, it would be an interesting conversation.

This is full of slanderous comments and no logical explanation of why WA is what they said. Well, I tell you logically, if the tutorials are effective to those who are truly working out on their sites as they put contents consistently, aren't they earning from it? When you start earning, it is working. Now, it is up to you to make it bigger. Those who are bitter, too envious, let them rot into their pit of bitterness but as for me, I will go forward and reap the better side of life. Thanks for telling me about these pitiable people who lost their sense of balance.
You are right Florentino, clearly they have had the wrong attitude from the start... It is about increasing what is working and putting energies into that. The time it takes to spit the venom he did in this article, he could have been spending improving his worth ethic and production. But we are safe here, bathed in the knowledge that we are doing the right thing.
