Do Not Be Discouraged - My Current Status, Finding My Second Wind of Inspiration
Hello all,
July 10, 2020 will be my third year here. I have not progressed at WA as much as I have hoped or wanted. So far I have made at most $10 through Amazon occasionally (such as every two or three months). I feel ashamed and embarrassed to share this. It is my own doing. However, my hope in sharing my thoughts is to give courage and/or inspiration to those who are struggling. This also holds me accountable for my success.
Thank you Stratos @StratosK for sharing your status. Your status inspires me to share mine. I was feeling discouraged because I have not been able to reach out to many people or have any referrals. However, I have not been writing as much as I should. I have been chasing shiny new objects and doing other things that may seem interesting at the time. Ultimately, I am taking on too many things at once and going different directions at the same time.
Does anyone experience that?
OK -- Let's put all my pitty party behind and focus on my "WHY". Why am I doing all this? Why am I trying to make money? I dug down deep and looked through as many layers about myself as I can. I am doing this so I can have the freedom to not worry about money so I can purchase something that I like without having to say "how much does that cost". I want to be able to help pay my kids to college. I want to travel and enjoy my family before my kids leave the nest. There were lots of fears to overcome. Ultimately, I want to be happy and enjoy a quality life with my family. I am tired of just getting by.
Here are my 6 general steps - maybe you can join me and create your own steps to success:
1. Create my goals - Here are a few:
become an expert at marketing and make income 10x my expenses
2. Write them down, keep track of my thoughts, and share them - just did it here.
3. What actions I can take now to move forward on those goals?
Here are a few: Reach out to people here at WA who are successful, Listen to Jay's Friday LIVE broadcasts, re-visit my websites and update them, and re-learn the training from Kyle.
4. Find new inspirations and things I am grateful for - Read WA postings and found inspirations through members' progress. Grateful to have found WA and connect to an amazing WA community. Leave comments for others
5. Stick and focus on what I started regardless of the outcome or results. Example: I started my 15-minute FB Live at the end of April. Keep it going every Friday regardless of who shows up or not show up.
6. Keep things simple so I do not feel overwhelmed, focus on feeling good, and weekly review my goals.
That is for now... I hope this helps inspires others to take steps in becoming successful at WA. Step out of your comfort zone. Do not be discouraged. Find your inspiration and generate your second wind.
Any suggestions or thoughts on how to become an expert in marketing, please forward them my way. I shall share with you my monthly progress next month.

I'm with you! I've been in Wealthy Affiliate for a little over two years, and my record is about like yours -- a couple of Amazon sales now and then...and the way they have dropped their commissions, that's next to nothing. However I learn something new every day. I keep trying to figure out new ways to move forward. I think your list is a good one.

The thing with marketing and anything else Ha, is that there is always more to learn to keep you ahead of the game.
You need to love what you do so that you write about it with a passion that brings people back for more.
You need to fix your mind in a positive state and know with certainty that you will be successful.

Thank you Linda for your thoughts. Yes. You are right. I really need to be loving what I am marketing. My biggest obstacle is to promote me. I need to believe and have faith in my self.

It can be hard to overcome past conditioning but it is possible. Sometimes it is as simple as listening to YouTube videos that can give you the tools to help you believe in yourself. Look up Marisa Peer & Christie Marie Sheldon both have videos that could help. Might be worth a try if he gets you to where you want to be sooner.
