Hello, I would like to change my domain name from hapychristian.com to achievehappyness.com. How do you suggest doing this? Thanks a lot, Joe
hi i am having difficulty in changing my domain name from siterubix to my new purchased domain I have followed lesson 1 in course 2 but for some reason it will not exempt it .
Please help.
Cheers Steve
Have you changed your DNS settings in your namecheap account to point at WA's servers?
The DNS settings should be:
ns1.mywahosting.com and ns2.mywahosting.com
If you've *just* made that change, you may need to wait a bit for WA's servers to see the change. (WA's servers must see your domain pointing at them before you'll be allowed to create a site here.) This "DNS propagation delay" can take anywhere from less than an hour up to a full day to occur.
I am looking into doing this too, more as a rebranding, so changing my website to a new domain name.
Will it affect rankings if you change your websites domain name?
Sorry. Not sure how it will effect rankings. In my case, traffic was so low, I did not have much to loose.
as far as I am aware you cannot change the name you would have to perhaps link the sites up.. this might be of some help Two Ways To Create A 301 Redirect
Did you just buy the achievehappyness domain? (I ask because it was just purchased a few days ago.) Do you want to move existing content from your hapychristian site to the new one?
You got it Bob! I did purchase it a few days ago and do want to move all existing content from hapychristain to it.
I have purchased my new domain name. Just not sure of the best way to replace the new name for the old? Thanks
You'd want to move the content from the old domain to your new one and redirect all traffic from the old domain's URL to the new site.
Assuming that you want to host your new site here at WA, I'd suggest opening a support ticket to get the site moved and the redirect put into place.
So glad you responded Bob! What great help you are! Good advice. I will do so. Make it a good day:) , Joe
