Hey eveyone.

I have been really busy doing a major uphaul on my site. New domain, new look, total rebranding etc

I would love some feedback, but also if you could

You can also use Pingdom, Website Load Speed Test to test your site. It is free and always available.
Ed

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

I would love to get some help on this one. I am rebranding my website, from the domain name and complete look.

I just tried changing my theme from Va

One of the ways that you can avoid these format changes when you change themes is to have a adult and child theme. An example would be studio press Genesis themes

I did read something about that but could not get my head around it. I will have to research how child and adult themes work. Any ideas?

Thanks for your input I appreciate it.

Changing theme in the middle of your work, especially when you have a lot of content already is not advisable, because not only the the look will be 'messy', but some plugins may become incompatible with your new theme.

If your consideration to change theme is only because of the header customization, I suggest to:

a. Search for a plugin to customize header. You can do a bit of google search or ask other WA members for suggestion,

b. Pay other wordpress-savvy people to customize it. Or, if you happen to found a friend/WA member that will help you without any charge, then it is good :)

Make sure to backup your website before major changes like changing theme :)

Cheers,
Ferdinand

I agree - what you're trying to do is understandable, but not easily achieved unless you know a little about PHP and probably more importantly CSS.

You could find someone on fiverr or similar, who could make a change for you - but if there are any future updates to the theme or WordPress, it could possibly (not certainly) break it again.

If you've got over 100 pages of content - that sounds like you're really serious about your business. In that case, how about approaching the theme authors, and asking them if they can make a change for you (which you may have to pay for - but you'd get what you want).

Alternatively - look for some good paid for themes, that are supported - or a good framework (Divi, Thrive etc - I use Thrive now) that lets you modify almost anything on the screen - and will be updated and supported.

Sorry, this isn't a "do this and it'll fix it" answer - but I hope Ferdinand and I have been able to give you a couple of pointers?

Cheers, Mark

Thanks for the tips Ferdinand.

I have tried out a few different themes, luckily it changes back to my original theme all intact! I did several backups beforehand just to be safe though.

I had not thought of using a plugin, great suggestion. I will look into that for sure!

Great advise Mark, I will do some homework and look into your suggestions.

Thanks.
