Addendum to Chrissie's Wordpress training
Chrissie's recently added some very useful basic training for Wordpress users. One of the things she shows is how to find the hidden toolbar functions within Wordpress, which is for most, quite a lifesaver.
However, I recently found out about a plugin, which turns out to be common knowledge among more experienced users that adds even more functionality to the toolbar and allows you to add even more tools! Including the ability to add tables, which for me is like manna from heaven! The ability to add tables gives you much more control overt he layout of your page.
If you know how to search for and add new plugins, here's the one to look for:
TinyMCE Advanced
TinyMCE Advanced enables advanced features and plugins in TinyMCE, the visual editor in WordPress.
Below is a screenshot of the settings which allow you to easily drag a new icon into your toolbar and add new capabilities to an already amazing web builder. You can organize them in any order that you like, just by dragging. It's almost too cool.
It should become apparent pretty quickly how invaluable this little plugin is if you're a hands on web builder. As I implied earlier, the ability to insert tables, alone, is worth taking the time install this little gem.Hope this helps someone,

Ah - that's the one! I have used that previously, but could not remember what it was and just put it aside. Thank you :-)
Yes, I am using that plugin for always, I guess. It saves much energy when you try to find font size, colors, tables etc. With a new website it happens again, but I Know how to fix it, yeah......
I didn't even mention that you can easily change fonts, too. Another reason to recommend this little gem. Thanks, Marion!
Wow Hal, that is a great help, I'll certainly start using that, many thanks for the information :)
You're welcome. I just found out about this myself... only a few weeks ago. I can't help but wonder why WP doesn't come with these features as standard in the first place.
