The Early Road to Success .

Hi Everyone!

I have come point in the training where it is time to create my first blog.

Now that I have been here a few months, created my own niche website within my domain, it is time to share some trials and tribulations I've encountered along the way. This is also a great opportunity to introduce my website.

Just like most on WA I have encountered personal ups and downs. Life today is nothing what I would have predicted a few years ago. Then again, a few years ago I would have never expected to find an amazing opportunity like Wealthy Affiliate.

On an exciting note, life in the months and years to come will be a 'Dream Come True'. The road to get there has a lot of hurdles still but it will happen.

The niche I opted on for my first website is related to health and wellness.

I decided on this niche for a few reasons:

  • The loss of both of my parents to cancer within 8 years open my eyes to how important health is to me.
  • This niche is giving me an opportunity to learn so much so I can share and help others including myself live a better quality of life.
  • I believer there are better ways to deal many health challenges compared to what is offered by the medical world.
  • Health and Wellness is a real passion of mine.
  • Besides my WA online business I am also involved in another home based business in the wellness field. This opportunity is allowing me another way to promote the amazing products offered by my other home based business.

My Adventure Began:

I joined Weathly Affiliate in early November 2018. I knew this wasn't a "get-rich-quick" scheme but my short term hopes were that hopefully by the end of December 2018 to see some form of income develop.

So, I started into my training and the early part of training was going well. The first few lessons were rather easy and quick. I thought, I should be able to breeze through my training in a few months. It didn't take me long to realize how far from my truth this really is.

At this point I started to realize this isn't a 'sprint' to the finish, but rather a 'very long' marathon to a life long online business development. This meant, seeing some form of income by end of December isn't probably going to happen.

My Early Challenges:

Just like most on WA I have faced several challenges which have slowed my progress and at times discouraged me from working on my business.

In December while I was making great progress with my training I decided it was time for me to find my first "theme". I don't know about others but when I first started looking for a theme I thought I should be looking for something offering images and a layout suitable for my niche. I quickly started to realize this really isn't what is meant by a "theme".I am not sure why it is called a theme and not something like your 'layout' or 'design'?

The search for my theme began and within a few weeks I had downloaded probably about 30 themes plus viewed several available within WA. In no time I had probably about 50 plus themes I had viewed.

Next challenge, how in heck do I go from about 50 themes down to THE theme?

By January 2019 my search for a new theme was 'full throttle' and narrowed down to about a dozen or so themes, but my training was at a standstill. It was at this point the excitement started to 'set in' as I was now down to about 3 or 4 themes and closing in on the theme for my first website.

Finally, by mid January I decided on a theme. In searching for a theme I felt it was important to find one where the "Demo" works. I believed being able to view my theme while creating my website would be beneficial to me.

My First Theme:

I would like to say "Thank you" to those on WA that helped me by responding to my questions. A special "Thank you" to merlynmac for all your support. You went what I would say, beyond "call of duty" to offer me a ton of support. I can never say enough about the support here offered on WA.

At this point it was time to decide, do I want to go with the "free" version or the "paid" version. While I would have preferred to save my money and use the "free" version I quickly realized my struggles with the free version were slowing me down further.

I opted to purchase the "paid" version and so glad I did. I really appreciate the convenience of being able to contact support of theme I chose anytime and within hours usually receive a response. The support by Grace Themes has been very helpful!

Time to Finally Move Forward:

My first bout of early challenges is hopefully now behind me, and finally I am starting to move forward again. While it has been extremely discouraging to find myself back tracking for almost two months, I couldn't be happier to be moving forward.

In my last few days I have finally put my first real new content on my website since about mid December. Just other day and for the first time in probably close to two months I completed a lesson of my training.

Plans for My Website:

The focus of my website is to offer my viewers and readers suggestions on healthier approaches to a variety of health challenges.

Throughout our lives most if not all of us will have to deal with health related challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, relaxation issues, physical symptoms like gut issues, physical pain, emotional pain and diseases like cancer and heart. This is just a few of the health related issues any of us could deal with in one way or another during our lifetime.

I want to offer a 'down to earth' website providing alternative suggestions for dealing with health related challenges. The fact I am not a 'professional in the health field', I hope this will help my viewers and readers related to me more on a personal level versus a professional level.

Tools offered on My Website:

  • Free and Paid Nutrition Related Online Courses
  • Free and Paid Mediation - also meditation courses
  • Free and Paid options for dealing with acute and chronic pain
  • Gut health options
  • Cancer and other disease suggestions
  • Free health related tips
  • Possible free or paid weight programs
  • Nutrition program suggestions
  • Cleansing suggestions - example 'the liver'

The above is just a sample of some things I am looking at including in my website.

The Time Has Come:

I am finally at the point where I am prepared to open my website for comments and opinions from my fellow Weallthy Affiliate members. I value the thoughts of everyone within this wonderful community. I am sure several of you can offer me suggestions and advice on how I can make my website better and more successful.

My content is extremely limited right now but in the coming weeks and months this will change.

If anyone has the time there is one aspect of my website I would love assistance with. I recently used GTmetrix and tested my website for performance and speed. There seems to be a few issues with my performance and speed. While I am prepared to turn to SiteSupport I thought if anyone has time and would like to assist me, then wonderful.

Either way, let my journey to success continue ...

Thank you for taking the time to read my 1ST. Blog.
