WordPress Blog ranking in 18 seconds!

I recently wrote about one of my blogs getting onto Google within 5 minutes. Not even an hour later it was ranked as number one on Google. So I thought I'd give this another go, with another blog idea, and see what happens. This time it took merely 18 seconds for my blog to get onto Google page one, position number 2!

The idea for the blog was about action producing results. The keyword that I thought of was 'Only action Produces Results". Here is another screenshot of the keyword research that I did on the WA Keyword Tool:

Again, the amount of searches was decent enough and the competition also low, although it was slightly higher than my goal of 50 pages or less. Nevertheless, on I went to write the blog.

After writing the blog and publishing it in my WordPress admin area, I viewed the post to just check it briefly (to make sure that it looked right). Directly after that I did a Google search on the keyword that I chose. To my amazement, I already found it listed in Google, at number 2!

You will see my blog at number 2, displayed in Google after 18 seconds! This totally breaks my understanding of the time it takes to get ranked in Google. Although, it does confirm what I initially thought about how to get ranked well in Google. Not only that but also the time it takes.

According to what I've now observed, it seems that:

  • blogs can get ranked extremely quickly (yeah, no kidding)
  • the keyword used makes a big difference to the ranking (in other words, use a keyword with very little competition)
  • the keyword must be included in the title and first paragraph of the blog (in this example, I added the keyword once in the blog itself - no attention was paid to keyword density but then again, it wasn't over-used at all)
  • the keyword must be setup in the SEO All-in-one plugin (I also included the keyword in the SEO description field because Google tends to use that the most)
  • my overall website ranking (#3 in Google) might have an influence on how my blogs are ranked?
  • the blog ranked really well and quickly too, without any back-links at all!

I will now be keeping an eye open for how long it takes for the blog to take over the number one spot on Google. With my previous blog, it took less than 1 hour - only time will tell with this new one.

What other things have you observed with your blog rankings? I'd really like to get your feedback on anything that you can add to the above.

To your Blogging success!
