WordPress Blog ranking in 18 seconds!
I recently wrote about one of my blogs getting onto Google within 5 minutes. Not even an hour later it was ranked as number one on Google. So I thought I'd give this another go, with another blog idea, and see what happens. This time it took merely 18 seconds for my blog to get onto Google page one, position number 2!
The idea for the blog was about action producing results. The keyword that I thought of was 'Only action Produces Results". Here is another screenshot of the keyword research that I did on the WA Keyword Tool:
Again, the amount of searches was decent enough and the competition also low, although it was slightly higher than my goal of 50 pages or less. Nevertheless, on I went to write the blog.
After writing the blog and publishing it in my WordPress admin area, I viewed the post to just check it briefly (to make sure that it looked right). Directly after that I did a Google search on the keyword that I chose. To my amazement, I already found it listed in Google, at number 2!
You will see my blog at number 2, displayed in Google after 18 seconds! This totally breaks my understanding of the time it takes to get ranked in Google. Although, it does confirm what I initially thought about how to get ranked well in Google. Not only that but also the time it takes.
According to what I've now observed, it seems that:
- blogs can get ranked extremely quickly (yeah, no kidding)
- the keyword used makes a big difference to the ranking (in other words, use a keyword with very little competition)
- the keyword must be included in the title and first paragraph of the blog (in this example, I added the keyword once in the blog itself - no attention was paid to keyword density but then again, it wasn't over-used at all)
- the keyword must be setup in the SEO All-in-one plugin (I also included the keyword in the SEO description field because Google tends to use that the most)
- my overall website ranking (#3 in Google) might have an influence on how my blogs are ranked?
- the blog ranked really well and quickly too, without any back-links at all!
I will now be keeping an eye open for how long it takes for the blog to take over the number one spot on Google. With my previous blog, it took less than 1 hour - only time will tell with this new one.
What other things have you observed with your blog rankings? I'd really like to get your feedback on anything that you can add to the above.

So I've done another search on Google to see what's happened to the blog ranking. And to my horror, I cannot find it anywhere! It disappeared from the #2 spot totally! Hmmm... not sure what happened there. Any thoughts on this are welcome, to shed some light on this for me!
Great news!! The blog post is back at #2 on Google. It certainly is true what they say - Google tends to take time sometimes with new posts, to decide where exactly to rank you. So the initial 18 second ranking seemed to be an impulsive ranking by Google. Hey, at least their impulse was right... scared me though while they were making up their mind :)

Backlinks can take a while to get picked up on(sometimes weeks). This is why I think it`s your domain age thats giving you the number one spot.
This is amazing! I`m gonna give it a go right away! Might I ask how you intend to monetize this(motivation niche im assuming)? Don`t have to answer that one if you don`t want.
Yes, daily self motivation is the niche that I chose (wanted to be more specific than just motivation). I don't mind the monetizing question :) My main intention with my website was to simply drive traffic to my affiliate program, which is a subscription service that offers me a passive income.
Nowadays, I've come to realize the potential in actually monetizing my website while driving traffic to my affiliate program. Therefore, I've looked at different monetizing options and applied for Google AdSense and an Amazon Affiliates account.
My AdSense account was declined due to insufficient content so that's my next goal - to simply increase my content to the max. My Amazon account was already approved and so I've already put up a few affiliate links on my site. I have not made an commissions yet but I have received a few click through's already.
So apart from my passive income opportunity being the main monetizing factor, I will add AdSense and Amazon to my website. Perhaps even more as time goes on. First though I want a solid foundation and presence in my chosen niche.
And no, I did not do any pings to submit my blog. What you read above is all that I did. From publishing to reviewing the blog and then straight to Google to check :)
Looked up your site and saw it was a little under a year old but google hasn`t picked up on a single backlink! Is this an old domain that you recently brought up and running? Maybe your domain age is what`s giving you all this clout!
Interesting! I thought that Google WAS picking up backlinks as I have quite a few of them. How and where did you check for this? The domain was purchased new and build from scratch. Maybe it is the age that's helping - not sure on that one!

Great explanation and visual illustration. Thanks for the information!
Always a pleasure :) I like to share my experiences in a teaching/showing type of way.
