Are You Using Social Media To Promote Your Business?

Some people seem to forget the power that comes with social media marketing and either don't do it much, or don't do it at all.

Remember it's not all about earning your commissions through your sales, but it is also about growing your business brand and getting it recognized in the search engines. By posting good content that is being searched for frequently, connecting with other marketers, posting blogs, sharing others blogs and giving feedback, requesting feedback on your articles and other content you feel may benefit others, you could be gaining exposure to your brand and your website's content which will trigger more traffic because you are not only interacting with your current following or the adverts you post, but your content could be found on other marketers networks if it benefits them and their followers - which equals....do the math = more exposure!

So are you using social media to your advantage?

I want to share an example of the reach that is out there on these social media platforms and just how easy it can be, if you do it right:

I spent 15 minutes this morning reviewing and sharing other marketers articles and blogs that's relevant to my niche and will benefit our followers, i left a comment of feedback for the other marketer stating "Great and interesting article!" and When re-sharing I added my own caption to the article, for instance this specific one was in regards to the ups and downs for Google+ and where it's heading - so my caption was: "interesting article! Are you using Google+ for your business?" and since I have had unknown followers liking my post, retweeting it, following me and adding our brand to lists relevant to that niche.

What work did that require? Not very much. Now think what you could do with your own content like blog posts and other links to your website.

Grow your audience, connect with other marketers, build relationships and provide value.

One big thing others forget to remember: Social Media is FREE!

Use it to your advantage - you could potentially produce more leads, sales and exposure through the likes of free social media marketing than you do from Paid ads.

I have a question I use facebook business page for my pet care business, it does not seem to matter what time of the day I post updates for the business, helpful or fun content, It never seems to be seen, although I have many of my own friends who have liked the site, this happens on my groups and personal profile too. I also find that quite often in the past and still happening I don't receive or get them very late, messages and comments. Any ideas why this would be happening. Could it be something to do with the settings?

Hi Rose,

You should be getting notifications...may want to check your settings for that. With regards to your posts never being seen - do you have something that comes up underneath your posts saying "Post Reach" and a bar with numbers? That should show the amount of people your post has reached. Sometimes people dont like or comment but simple view it.

Facebook Business Pages need to have attention consistently but also what I would recommend is promoting your page if you can afford to set a budget. Then you can choose the target audience you want your page to reach and it will show in their news feed. That is another option to get some traffic to your page....

Hope that helps!

I have three so called "Fan-pages" running on Facebook, each one for a different niche.
It usually will take awhile to catch up and it also is up to Facebook too how often they "push" it, until you pay for it to get your post boosted, which I don't do at this point.
However, you also have to check your settings. I am getting my notifications pretty quick when someone took a view or even liked it.
Just keep rolling and add new stuff like a post or images related to your business.
You than will see that it really will improve.
All the best to you.

Not so worried about the groups or even my profile, it's the pet sitting business page that's my biggest concern. I have plenty of 'followers' they just don't seem to see what I post. I try and add good content, fun content, which they always seem to get views for, but they never seem to see the updates on the actual business. Any tips?

Than I suggest you also find groups on FB according to your niche where you can promote your business and your FB site.
I did this too and over time it did increase my site views and likes.

I further link my FB pages to other platforms like LinkedIn. Have you tried this too?

Well said Brad. ^_^

Thanks Dude! :)

Helpful, thank you.

Glad to hear it! Thanks for the appreciation.

no problem thank you for your feedback :) Bradley

I couldn't agree more. This is so true. Just need to make it a daily habit. Thanks for the advice.

Happy to help bud! :)

Not all social media is free. I did not create a business blog on Twitter because I saw no way to get it set up for free.

For business blogging on social media sites is different and to be fair, not sure about that avenue so I can't comment on that. However if you see from what I have mostly spoken about in my article it is aimed towards the everyday use of social media. If you are hosting your blogs on your website or another platform as such, you can share it to twitter. Which would save the need to use twitters internal business blog.

All marketers I speak to and know don't use the business blog but host their blogs on their website and share them to twitter. This is free to do.

Hope that helps.
