Who Were the Six Wives of King Henry VIII?
In honor of Wolf Hall which recently aired on Masterpiece on PBS, I wrote a post on my personal blog about the six wives of King Henry VIII.

I thought I would share it here for any of you that also enjoy Tudor history.

I love your article. Very well written and accurate. I have read a lot about Henry the VIII and his six wives. I am fascinated by that period of English history. I left you a comment.
Hi Emilie, Thank you so much for reading it. I enjoy the subject a lot and enjoyed writing it. I will go look at your comment! Gina
Hi Gina . I loved reading your blog .
It did read King Henry VIII and his six wives before .
I always shiver inside when I read about him.
I loved the history lesson .
The photos of each of his wives was nice to see.
You writing on Tudor history was easy and enjoyable to read.
Shirley,
Thanks so much for the kind comments. I actually have not read as much about Henry VIII in books as I have watched documentaries and read about him on websites dedicated to Tudor history. I like this website http://www.royal.gov.uk/HistoryoftheMonarchy/KingsandQueensofEngland/TheTudors/TheTudors.aspx and Netflix has a good series 'Monarchy' by historian David Starkey that covers Alfred the Great through Queen Victoria.
I can recommend a favorite book (not about the Tudors) 'Improper Pursuits, The Scandalous Life of An Earlier Lady Diana Spencer' by Corola Hicks. She lived in the 1700's and was quite rebellious and a great artist. She studied and worked with another great artist Joshua Reynolds. Joshua Reynolds was a portrait painter and his works are in museums world wide. Amazing to see in person.
I hope this isn't too much information. I am not an academic. I just enjoy this kind of history.

I might do one on her as a summary. I am glad to find another fan of this kind of history. My husband found the book used on Amazon for me really cheap. I struggle to post content for my WA website much less my personal blog, but I need to keep working on both.
I didn't think about it being sad. I just enjoy the history. I hope you found some enjoyment. Thank you for reading it.
King Henry VIII was an egotistical, paranoid tyrant and a murderer. Those poor ladies were treated very badly. Not only did he simply discard his first wife of 24 years, he took everything including her daughter away from her. Thanks for reading it!
Hi Gina,
That was a really great condensed read.
The queens certainly had quite difficult lives in those days.

Thank you
Thank for reading it. It actually was a bit of work to put together. There is a lot of incorrect and conflicting information about them on the Internet. So I had to be careful to be accurate. They had difficult lives and I don't think any of them, with the exception of Anne Boleyn, had a choice about marrying the King. They had to marry the King in obedience and even Anne was pressured by her family to marry him. Thank you for leaving a comment. I commented on your post trachea collapse.
