I'm just curious about how many articles need to be writing in order to get enough ranking to start bringing in money on Google?
I know that we need quality articles and
Hey Gary,
There's not a magic number of articles you need. You just have to have a clear and direct path pointing your visitors to where you want them to be.
Also, do really good keyword research. You can find some really good low competition keywords to get your site's foot in the door.
Share your articles and get people to engage with them and your site trust will go up over time.
Google doesn't have 'go-to' sites btw. It ranks sites the same, no favorites or anything like that. You can bump sites out of their ranking if you have the right wear with all. That's one thing I like about ranking on Google.
Hope this helps. Just keep being consistent and make clear, intentional, call to actions.

Hi Gary,
That is a hard question to answer. It largely depends on the keyword competition you are focusing on. It really can vary from niche site to niche site.
More is always better. The more posts you have the more page authority you get from Google. But time is also a factor... the older your site is the the better attention it gets from Google in searches.
Also, once you do start to get some page rank, you need to keep adding content usually to keep it there and keep building it.
I created my fourth website 32 days ago. It is focused on working at home. Lots of competition, but I know with time and effort I will rank. So far I have 7 main pages and 45 posts that I added in a month's time. I am starting to get about 60 page visits per day. I really don't pay much attention to page ranking or visits until I have about 3-5 months in on a website. I also look at my potential competition that are ranking on page 1 of Google to see what they are doing and what they have for content. Most have over 300 posts, and counting.
If a competitor has a page 1 ranked post on Google with 1500 words, I will write a blog post of my own for that keyword niche that has 2500+ words. And then I will write other smaller posts that link to that bigger post. Stuff like that helps. You can knock off those bigger pages that are already getting rank. You just have to knuckle down and keep writing. it can take time.
I plan to have another 40+ posts on my new website by the end of June. But, I have been doing this for a few years before joining WA, and am past the learning curve. I write a lot, and can pound out 2000 word posts in an hour or two.
More excellent advice TD. THANK YOU for taking a moment to help me out. I will continue to work towards my goals. Gary

I'm wondering if adding video and podcasts about your niche on your website help you to rank in Google. In other words, does Google see this as 'good content' in relation to yo
Videos yes because articles/blogs seem to index and rank faster than those without.
As for podcasts, I don't really know.
Can only help though.
