Things they DO NOT tell you about Black Friday & WA annual membership

I have been a WA member for a little over 14 months, and although I have not been as active as I may have liked to have been on here in the last few months (with good reason), I have maintained my membership and been following things with interest, whenever I could.

During the Black Friday weekend last year, I changed my then-monthly membership to an annual one, taking advantage of the great deal that was (and still is) on offer - less than $1 a day to own and run my own, personal, online business from the comfort of my own home - I'd be mad not to take it, right?

"So how has that worked out?" You may ask.

And I will answer you, because sharing information, advice and experiences is part of what we do at WA. Why? Because not only does it enrich our daily experience here, but at some time, we have all been in the boat labeled "Is this really worth it? Can I make this work?"

Learning from our peers and the people who have gone before us, it crucial - it has helped me enormously in the last year. I've followed several members very closely and their insight has led me to places, ideas and opportunities that I never knew existed, and I thank them all for that.

But there are several things that I think are often NOT said about the annual membership offer, which I would like to expose and expand on.

So here goes....

Firstly - am I financially free yet?

No!

Secondly - is my site making significant money each month?

No!

Do I worry about this?

No!

Do I sometimes think I have wasted my money?

Absolutely not!

AND HERE'S WHY...

Because, there's more to 'life, the universe and everything' than that - so much more! And THIS is what I have gained. THIS is what they don't tell you about WA.

Let's get one thing straight - the WA Black Friday offer is a great deal. It would be easy for me to reiterate the list of benefits and discounts that having an annual WA premium membership means - training, websites, webinars, live-chat, personal connections, ideas, security, etc., but quite frankly, you can read that everywhere on here. It's a great discount and such amazing value for money that I can't even begin to rival Kyle's emails and blogs about the benefits that you'll get and that are waiting around the corner.

But for me, the annual membership means much more than just saving a few dollars (or pounds in my case as I live in the UK).

The amazing thing I have found about life is that it has a wonderful way of rewarding optimism and action with unexpected, beneficial things. The old adage of "when one door closes, another on opens up" would be a good reference point here - except that I have found that when you let one door close on your life, you often find, not one, but many, many new avenues and opportunities opening up to you - things that you least expect and quite frankly, couldn't even possibly imagine when you were stuck holding onto the first door you had.

The metaphor is simple here - $299 may seem a lot to you now as you look at it in your bank account; but IF YOU NVEST IT IN YOURSELF AND YOUR FUTURE, then the universe has a wonderful way of paying it back to you, with interest and more, so much more!

And yes, I do mean things like happiness, health and well-being, self-esteem and purpose here, as well as money.

That is what happened to me.

I am not the same person I was this time last year. I have evolved. I have moved my life forward in ways that were not even on my horizon last year. And I put most of that down to joining here at WA.

When I took out my annual membership, I thought that I would use my websites to make my fortune. I was willing to work hard - and I did. I imagined gaining lots of new traffic and wrote consistently for my sites, worked on my social media presence and gained some referrals for WA.

Within a few months, I had made back my annual fee, and more, although in recent months, the income from my sites has dropped. However, my OVERALL income has gone up nearly 50% and that is mainly down to other, unforeseen opportunities presenting themselves to me as a direct result of my learning and work here at WA. Not on my sites, no, but on other opportunities such as freelance writing and teaching. I got a freelance job that pays me £1000 per month for writing articles and proof-reading, which is why I have not been around much lately. But I love it.

I also quit a job I disliked, taking a huge leap of faith that I had found the courage to do because being at WA put me back in touch with what I really wanted, instead of what I was willing to settle for. And within 2 months, quite out of the blue, a better-paid, less-stressful and more fulfilling job found me - and I do me, the job found me. I didn't go looking for it; it arrived in my inbox one day, quite unexpectedly - a door opening!

I found my 'joie de vive' again, spurred on by my interactions and dealings with the people on here, who were all supportive and encouraging rather than negative and naysayers.

I am distinctly happier, healthier and definitely a better person because of it.

And yes, I am better off financially too - but that to me, is now the icing on the cake. Working out, who I was, who I wanted to be, and trusting that if I took an initial step in the right direction, things would all work out, was VITAL in setting myself on the path to creating my own future.

These are the things they don't tell you about a WA annual membership!

The discount is amazing, but to me, it's the investment in myself that is more important, because my mindset shifted when I paid annually. And it's really the shift in mindset that sets everything in motion.

1. I no longer worried if I could pay the monthly amount each month - I just knew I had to set about making it work.

2. I realised I now had a year to put things into practice and the impatience of the initial weeks steadied to a calmer, more manageable pace.

3. I stopped my mental ping-pong about should I or shouldn't I? I just got on with what I needed to do.

4. I mentally said to the universe that this was it - I was going to be successful and I had committed myself to making my own future.

And it all worked. It didn't all work out as I first thought admittedly, but that's the great thing about starting down a new path - you don't know all the twists and turns of the road ahead, and you allow yourself to be surprised. It's a very liberating feeling.

So will be taking out the same deal again over the next couple of days? Yes; without question, without hesitation and without blinking an eye!

I urge you all to do the same. Invest in yourself. Let go of the past and the things that have been holding you back and set about creating the future you really want. Today is less about Black Friday than it is about 'the first day of the rest of your life'.

This is YOUR LIFE.

Make it the way YOU want it.

Start TODAY!

Wishing everyone here, every success. To your wonderful, imagined future. Cheers!

Gail

Great post, Gail.
Nice to hear from you again.

I could not have said it any better regarding Wealthy Affiliate. It is truly an investment in yourself that will open many more doors other than just the one that leads to making money.

Good on you.

Regards from Canada.

Paul.

Hi Paul. Good to connect with you again too. Sorry for being away! Regards to you from the UK too.

Cheers.

I didn't get in on the Black Friday but I am a yearly member and yes there is a lot that I agree with you on .

I pay full price and am still benefiting by most all that you have outlined. Most of all peace of mind as each and ever month rolls around.

You have a great way of writing and can see why you would take a writers job. I have seen that opportunity myself and I often wonder if I would be any good at it. Writing has always been a great chore for me. But I have become better at it. Well you have to if you want to become successful.

Always a better way
Linda

Hi Linda.
Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. I've always loved writing but since joining WA, I've found the confidence to actually call myself a writer too! Funny that!
As with anything though, the more you do it, the better you get, so my advice is to just keep writing. Read other people's work to so that you get to know what you like, and what you don't.
Wishing you lots of success.
Gail

Thanks Gail for your words of encouragement .I do just that, I tend to cut my sentences but I have been working on that one. Bless you Linda

Sometimes you need long sentences. Sometimes you don't! :) That's the great thing - every post is different. Staying flexible and open to learning new things is the key, I find.
Oh - and having fun too! :)

so true(o:

Great post, Gail. Very uplifting and motivating. Good to see you back. Have missed you, even though I have not been very active for several months due to the shiny object called life intervening. But I agree with you 100% about the value of our annual membership and the mindset it produced for me.

Congrats on your better job that found you, and the happiness and success it has provided.

Here's to a wonderful, prosperous, healthy, happy 2019!

Carol

Hi Carol - great to connect with you again. I've missed everyone here. Hope your life is going well though, despite getting in the way of your WA things. WA will still be here though. That's what I've found. Looking forward to catching up with you soon.
Take care. Gail

Yeah, it's great connecting again. I gotta get busy and write the posts I did the research for last summer. Will need to refresh my memory before I start writingl, that's for sure!

I love being yearly. No monthly payments to worry about and keeps me from doing something silly like giving up:)

Thanks for sharing a great post!

Gina

Glad you liked it, and you're welcome.

Susan

You're very welcome. Thanks for reading.

I couldn't agree more. When I first joined I wanted to make it all work right away. As I've gotten more into it and learned more, I've gotten calmer about how things are going to work out. Now, taking the step to go yearly, I am heaps calmer yet again :) It's amazing how much calmer I feel because I've finally found something that relaxes my financial stresses :)
Thank you for sharing this. You worded it all so well :)

Thanks Kelly. Good to meet you on here. It's such a great place for like-minded people. All the best to you. Gail

That's fantastic Gail. I understand the benefits of the annual fee but, unfortunately I simply don't have that amount available. But I'm still aiming for a yearly membership, it might just take me a bit longer and cost me $50 more. Jim

And in the long run, what's a few more months and another $50? It's the commitment to yourself and your new mindset that will make the difference. All the best. It will happen.

I love your post, Gail! This is how I feel about about the WA Black Friday deal, as well:) I know that last November, right after I paid for the year, it motivated me more to work on my site. I guess it felt like I was being given a new start:)

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and inspiration!
Blessings:)
Suzi

Hi Suzi. Good to connect with you again. It's been a while but I've not been idle!! :) Hope all is going well with you and look forward to catching up soon.
It's 2.30am not and half way through writing this, my computer died as the charger gave up. I've just had to literally take my old computer apart and put it back together again to fix it and finish my post - but it worked - good old youtube!
Take care - I'm off to bed!.

Hi Gail:)
It's good to connect with you again, too:) I'm impressed that you were able to take your old computer apart, and put it back together! I may have to ship my old laptop to the UK, and have you repair it...Lol!
Blessings:)
